If only there was a way to tell someone was gonna join your lobby lol. I left to go join anyone on my friends list lol.

I want to buy a ton of clothes. =/ Found a jersey that's looks better then the shirt I have when combined with the paintball mask. It's just that I like the movement abilities I have with the one I'm using. =P

Does anyone else only buy items with three slots now or is it just me?

That's what I did first, but I read that for each gear brand, there's a particular sub-ability that you are 5 times more likely to get, which means a 3-star gear with a terrible more-likely-to-get sub-ability may be less interesting than a 1-star gear with a good more-likely-to-get sub-ability. So now I just buy them all; they'll all have 3 slots eventually anyway.

The official one I bought to save me from slitting my wrists while I'm stuck at a con. Unlike their shitty Pokemon guides, this one is really technical. Here's a list (5x chance compared to other abilities):

Firefin: Ink Saver (Sub)
Forge: Special Duration Up
Inkline: Defense Up
Krak-On: Swim Speed Up
Rockenburg: Run Speed Up
Skalop: Quick Respawn
Splash Mob: Ink Saver (Main)
SquidForce: Damage Up
Takoroka: Special Charge Up
Tentatek: Ink Recovery Up
Zekko: Special Saver
Zink: Quick Super Jump

The brands I didn't list have no preference. There are also uncommon abilities for the above brands but who cares about those? That and I need to rush to the last program I'm seeing today at this Dr.Who con, then we're going home.

Because of the glitch, right? Otherwise it's like $20K to add slots?

Is what assigned to the new slots random or does each item have a "hidden ability" list you have to add slots to get?

It's 30.000 or 1 Super Sea Snail (reward you get during “Splatfests” i.e. limited-time events, first one in June).

What ability does the paintball mask have? My shop never has it

Oh, the glitch is real? That makes it even easier then :p

THe extra slots are random, tho apparently the brand has effect on what kind of sub-abilities you can get.

(Splatoon doesnt give me enough time to respond between matches, too fast!)

Went on a 6 game winning streak and got to C+. Now time to try and get to B-.

Whats better for ranked? .52 gal deco, Aerospray, or zapper? I just bought a bunch of weapons.

What... The... Hell? The final boss fight is the most fun I've had with a boss in years. YEARS. I'm so glad they didn't go the conventional route of having some tried and true "epic final boss concerto" playing.

The ending theme is so damn good and I love the way the credits play out.

For real, if you own a Wii U and you don't have Splatoon... BUY IT. This game is just too much.

Ah, I see. So buying 1-star gear and then unlocking more slots on them have a better chance of getting good sub abilities (and the brand). Cool.

Yep! As an example of how this works, let's all look at Sendou's load-out:
zlCfzTa0fIUBQ9L84m

That's a Red Beanie from Inkline, a Rockenberg White from Rockenberg, and Neon Sea Slugs from Tentatek. Inkline's common ability is Defense Up, Rockenberg's is Run Speed Up, and Tentatek's is Ink Recovery Up.

As we can see, both the beanie and shoes have their brand's common ability, and the shirt has it *twice*. It's a pretty good thing to keep in mind when looking for something specific.

At first I thought some team members didn't get the point of Splat Zones when they were inking remote areas instead of charging the splat zone. However, I think there's some merit to inking remote areas while your team is out of power. You can build up your Special gauge without the other team building up theirs in order to build an all-out assault. It works best when your teammates just died so they don't go running in uncoordinated.

Winning a ranked match by 1 point, nuts man lol

Also, the charger has taught me what I already know, can't aim for shit with analog sticks >_>

Testing an aerospray with and without damage perks... Three damage perks made it 24.9 per shot and none made it 24.5

Not worth it at all, lol
