Fallout 4 (based on the trailer) looks better than Skyrim the same way Skyrim looked better than Fallout 3. That is to say, yeah they improved the lighting and effects and overhauled everything a bit. But underneath it's still the same old Studebaker chugging along and will probably play just as poorly. Hopefully they've taken some writing lessons from Obsidian at least.

All I know is, nuke or no nuke, those mountain ranges, and that highway gas/service station in the middle of nowhere is as desert southwest as it gets. Maybe that's still supposed to be Boston, but it doesn't look like it to me.

Started out good, Good choice of Song. Was really setting the mood....
but when the music kicked it up a notch, i was expecting swat jumping out of helicopters with dude bro music screaming, 'merica!!!!! lol but it was just for the dog running,lol. Wrong choice of tone for that.
It was focusing too much on the dog as a selling point for the scenes and was becoming, boring.
And,
the graphics. yikes!
I'll might be holding onto my money. Very underwhelming.

Game looks fantastic, art style looks a billion times better than Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Fuck the haters, the Internet at large can never be happy with anything and is far too cynical.
Alternatively, we could just not lie about the graphics and make games look good.

I didn't imagine we would have such an extensive trailer. THey showed a lot. Tons of environements, lots of urban stuff, some civilization, some wasteland, hills, forests... Tons of colors and different environements and tons. Powerfull narration in this trailer too.

3DS is fully capable of rendering blurry textured, skeletal animated dogs and specular blinn-phong, textured buildings with baked in shadow maps...

Anyone who isn't Naughty Dog has fucked it up in one way or another. Maybe it will pay off for Bethesda to be conservative for once
And it honestly doesn't look BAD. Its just not to the bar thats been set by other games already. As far as its OPEN WORLD competition goes it falls in line nicely

True, but you have to think that Bethesda has been working on this game for several years now. This is the first thing we have seen and it's nothing to write home about. First impressions can mean everything. Not saying that's the case, just saying it doesn't look like what you'd expect from games in 2015.

Hopefully the Brotherhood keep a more neutral stance and don't just become Knights of the Round Table. Although I understand the chapters are isolated and you could easily have a reverse Elijah situation where an elder wants to help heal the wasteland i.e. What if Veronica from New Vegas was an Elder?

I wouldn't quite jump to "trash," but this trailer is just the latest wet fart let out of Bethesda. Everything good about it is lifted from a game that is very nearly 20 years old. Everything else in there is vapid, "open-world" jank with bad animations, passable graphics, and replacement-level generic fantasy music inexplicably playing over it.
