iOS Gaming June 2015 | The future is now

Awesome to see Square Enix opting to go premium on this. Gives me even more hope that the larger gaming companies planning to do more on mobile (Nintendo, Capcom, etc.) will go the same route,
Oh wow, I didn't notice that. That's very surprising and very cool

Reinstalled Hitman Sniper from my CA account and yeah, all IAP is removed. You can connect to Facebook for a nice reward, but that's it.

The cool thing is that when a new target is added, the previous targets remain on the map as bonus objectives. And there's still an element of stealth through timing kills so bodies stay out of sight; you even get points of stealth kill chains

Wonder what the price point will be.

The new 4x4 Jam HD looks like it could be a nice racer.

Not a huge amount of releases tonight, but a few good ones coming.

Bean Dreams got updated with 3 new worlds and a new trampoline powerup!

Rymdkapsel's update is also out on iOS! Two new modes and four new monoliths have been added to the game.

I wonder if it was the success and response towards Hitman Go that convinced SE to go premium with Hitman Sniper.

It's almost as if you make a game that's built from the ground up for mobile that stays true to the series without ruining it through F2P BS (cough Dungeon Keeper cough), people will buy and praise your game.

I hope other companies take that notion to heart

Finally got past the boss in the third chapter of Ire. Wow was that rough. Got a whopping 'D' rating. LOL.

Onward to Chapter 4! Still love the combat in this game. Oh so satisfying, especially when conquering bosses

Last update really added a nice layer of polish too with a redesigned menu interface. Devs are really committed to the game, which is great.

There's a Kickstarter going on for an expansion of sorts to Auro.

They're looking to literally expand the game from what I feel is more of a puzzler to a more fully realized roguelike(-like) structure.

I like the base game a lot, from ease of control to its killer art style, but the one thing I feel is lacking is the draw to keep going back to it. This will definitely fix that.
The guys who made Auro are friends of mine so obviously I'm a little biased but I also play the hell out of it. In fact, it's the only game I play these days so this is really exciting for me and I hope they get the money they want.

After a while in soft launch, Halfbrick's Radical Rappelling has reached it's release! Rock on!

Feel the rush and hold on tight as you rappel down mountains at breakneck speed.

Pull off death-defying tricks by ricocheting between launch pads, riding rainbows and rocketing over obstacles in the most redonkulous adventure ever.

Rack up coins and complete rockin’ missions to unlock sweet new gear for Rip and Roxy, the most fearless risk-takers on the planet.

It’s random. It’s ridiculous. It’s really, really rad. Play for FREE now!

I didn't work on the game personally, but I will say - I have put a lot of time into this game during its soft launch here in Australia. I have personally put 27 hours into the game and am currently at level 65. That's some serious time, and it's just that addictive.

Download it for free right now!

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Let me know your scores!

My iOS gaming time is definitely shrinking, but I keep playing every now and then... Some games survived the shed (Out There -where is Omega?????-, BADLAND, Worm Run, Dragon Hills, Splot, Tetrobot & Co, Gunbrick, Geometry Wars 3, You Must Build A Boat) and awaiting Divide by Sheep and the Super Meat Boy game like crazy...

You Must Build a Boat is amazing. I love it. Improved in every way so that the first game seems like a demo (in Musgrave words). I haven't played much games since a month now (even PS4) but that sinked my time yesterday, was almost impossible to put it down. And I keep playing today. Much much better than the first one in every possible way. Glad I bought it.

Geometry Wars 3 is also really solid, put a few minutes into it the other day and reached the second boss. Nice one. Love the 3D arenas. Activision took a lot of cues from Radiangames, a lot...

Tetrobot & Co is so far is... completely lovely. So much polish, the animations, sounds, gameplay, controls... so congruent... they make a pretty damn interesting puzzler. In love with it.

8-Bit Waterslide is... ok... nothing new, and the gimmicks are old, not even funny. I thought I was buying something else. Dragon Hills is fresh and unique, slices 8-Bit Waterslide into a million pieces. I will keep playing that one (since the Dark World is really fun). Deleted.

Splot is evolving from something great to a really solid platformer/racer. The silver medals change your playstyle and now it's a deadly race to survive. Thank god for the powerups ;)

Well see you in the future guys, More Badass great work. awp, keep calm and forget android xD, Pitta you lucky -censored- stop playing the omega edition and release it already xD

Does Apple Watch stuff go here? I forget.

Anyway, we released another update of Four Letters. This one adds Watch support.

We only have a single Watch at the office so very interested how usable and playable people find it. Any feedback appreciated.

Keep calm?!?! You m$ther F*%#ing a$$hole! LOL.

Seriously, pretty happy and calm here on GAF without having to deal with the crap on that other forum. Much friendlier here.

And only Android game I can't get enough lately is the Talos Principle.

Anyway, don't be a stranger. Drop in on these threads or you may miss something awesome!

I wish my friend, I wish.
Call me Jon Snow, I know nothing.

But Omega it's among my top (on paper) games of this summer....along with This War of mine and Deathwatch.

So it's basically a full game mobile version of that sniper challenge that came before Absolution?
Yeah, pretty much. Same concept but different challenges and location.

Also it seems like there is some IAP according to the TA thread, but it's pretty well hidden IMO. I can't find it and it's nothing like the dual currencies and timers of the previous F2P version. I suspect it's in the vein of Hitman Go's IAP, in that it's unobtrusive and only there if you want to speed up your progress

Edit: the IAP is three guns, one for $0.99, one for $5.99, and one for $9.99

Yep, complete with shooting rubber ducks and all that.

Yeah, prett much. Same concept but different challenges and location.

Thanks, my kind of game. Might hold fire to see what some feedback is like first.

Are you able to obtain those three guns in the game through progression/grinding/unlocking?

LTTP on Leo's Fortune and... I'm surprised to say I just hated nearly everything the game had to offer. I know it seems like it is universally loved, don't know what specifically went wrong with me.
Graphics are nice, stunning at times, that's a given. Controls are trash, level design is so uninspired and repetitive it hurts (you liked this segment with *insert some sort of trial* ? cool because we will use the same thing three times in the same level). Story seems to lead to some generic introspection thing. Some of the moves needed to pass end game levels are hard as fuck to do because of controls or poorly thought out design. Inertia, inertia, inertia. Physic engine leading to hazardous results in otherwise simple tasks.
I suspect I may have had an early personal issue with the game that didn't help a positive judgment, but at the same time I would hope I'm open minded enough to not let that taint my overall views on it.
And my overall view is that if you forget about dem shiny graphics, you just end with a really poor plate-former.
I know, I'm the first surprised by that opinion.

Yep. I've played a bit of the soft-launched game and there's a presumably random reward after taking out targets that can either be in-game currency, xp or parts of weapons. Collecting all the weapon parts will allow you to assemble the new weapon. You can assemble it at any time by using special currency collected through completing side missions, the cost of which drops as you collect more weapon parts.

The Rebels game was free with premium game unlocks, and unobtrusive IAP, so I have high hopes for this

Genuinely shocked at how good You Must Build a Boat is. I loved 10000000, and expected this to be a rehash of the same game. Which it is, but there's so much more of everything, and it's so much better in every way.

It's a rehash of 10000000? Now that's promising.

I'm in the look for Match-3 games I can play with my girlfriend. Past games we've played have been Spellfall and Fable Age, one which died, the other got kind of shat up with obnoxiousness (and she actually beat it, so now I can't play it!).

I saw Dungeon Raid, so that was promising, but it's paid. Kind of want to stick for free right now, especially if it's gonna be gacha style (which I love).

What's everybody's top match-3 games?

Hero Emblems

+100000

Still one of my favorite releases of the year so far. Very challenging, and not a slap against "You Must Build a Boat" which is a much different game, it's probably the deepest and most strategic in terms of match-3/RPG hybrids go.

Don't know why but I'm still hesitating on "You Must Build A Boat". I think Hero Emblems ruined my perspective on match-3 games with an RPG twist. I went back and played 10000000 and had trouble getting into it again. I know the sequel to it adds more but still....

Completely off topic, but since I know More_Badass is a fan, who else plans to dine with Hannibal tonight? Can't wait. Still consider it up there with Breaking Bad as far as the all-time best TV series -- and probably the most groundbreaking even over BB.

You're going to be in the Hannibal OT during the episode tonight?
