Unannounced Platinum Game Coming to E3 (IGN)

If IGN is getting the scoop it MIGHT just be a smaller title. Can Platinum even do two big games?

Unless it's announced at one of the pressers and then gameplay is shown elsewhere.

The game can be announced at a conference, and then shown on IGN.

Sure, but if it was a major title they would surely show the gameplay then at that point too? I think it's probably a smaller game that will get announced at a conference but not big enough to warrant taking up a slot to show off the gameplay.

IGN revealing Platinum AND Square Enix games?! Doesn't Square Enix have it's own press event as well? Does everyone have so many games to announce that they aren't getting enough stage time?! This E3 is getting me way too hyped

171 employees.

130-140 active devs more or less - give or take.

80-100 working on Scalebound if it's AAA as MS claims. 2016 release...

Umm....not sure how they're managing.

Wasn't their speculation of another Platinum game with Nintendo from an interview with the folks who did Bayonetta 2? I remember a video of them saying "Look forward to what we have planned" or something along those lines.

People always hype Platinum up, but the games never manage to shift units which makes me a little sad, but luckily that doesn't stop them from getting work :) Tuesday is the day of Nintendo's E3 , right? But this is a few hours later.

Vanquish 2 would be nice as well.
Even an Anarchy Reigns 2/Mad World 2 wouldn't be bad.

Wonderful 101 debuted on IGN's E3 stream. As did Devil's Third. Hmmmmmm...

Now this is very encouraging... apart from Nintendo's habit of slipping these announcements outside their main presentation, that is.

Best-case scenario that frankly won't happen is a Bayonetta 2 situation with Viewtiful Joe 3. Second-best scenario I don't expect to happen is The Wonderful 102. But an original property would also pique my curiosity, especially if it's coming to Wii U.

IGN is going to be premiering the gameplay reveal of an unannounced Platinum game during our E3 2015 live show.

Tune into IGN at 3pm PT (6pm EST/10pm GMT) on Tuesday, June 16 for an extended look at gameplay from a new game from the Japanese studio that brought us Viewtiful Joe and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

Wording in the bolded bits seems to imply that the actual announcement will be at one of the press conferences... but we'll see.

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.

Publishers read the internet
Platinum may not be sales movers, but they see the hype their games generate.

Couple of things:

They said gameplay reveal will be on their stream, not that they are revealing the game entirely. It's obviously still a "get" but it's not like it's a game that will be announced on their stream instead of a conference

Also with the Konami thing, if the game is near completion (and obviously is in a playable state, based on this announcement) they're far less likely to cancel it than a Silent Hill game still in its planning stages

If MGR2 was far along enough before Konami started torching everything connected to Kojima, then it's probably that.

If its a conference announcement, yeah for sure its MGR2. Otherwise, I don't think Sony, MS or Konami would have that game not debut in a presser.
