Subjective - to outright wrong. Better graphical effects, better AA, better overall IQ is more pleasing to the eye - one of the main reasons for cutting to 30fps (among other things).

It's not outright wrong at all. I also personally find the motion clarity of 60fps at least as pleasing to the eye and important as any of those graphical features you touted.

What does a price tag has to to with length?
Lower price usually indicates lower quality and/or smaller size of the final game (see most indie games). Since the visual quality is quite high, the reasonable assumption is that the game is short.

However, since this could be appealing to parents with young kids, the lower price might also be a clever strategy to get them to buy the game by lowering one of the bigger barriers to entry. Or it could be Amazon fucking up.

The lack of first-party games really is why the PS2 platformers are getting hyped.
Not that I mind though...

As long as the animation is not janky we're good - and from what can be seen in the video - it's not. You're only talking about a hypothetical improvement your eyes will never see. Lets stick to reality.

I know publishers have this mindset, but I totally disagree.
I think price has really no relation to length. I played Terraria way longer than many $60 games.
Price is more about how much they sell. Lower price vs. more purchases or higher price vs. a chance of less sales.

Still not happy Sony didn't give a chance at this to a new developer but got to admit it looks stunning visually.

$40, eh?

Pleeeeeease be longer than 3-5 hours.
Insomniac is poking fun at itself with that tagline, but the developer is also embracing the connection between Ratchet and Clank the movie and Ratchet and Clank the game. McCabe says the game has "the same bones" as the film, but it will add lots more story and background to help fill out the 10 to 12 hours of expected gameplay.

If this comes out at a quiet time of the year, I'll probably get it. Otherwise, it's probably one I'll wait for a really good sale on.

Huh, $40. Weird. I thought Into the Nexus was a great game for the price (I would have paid more for it), so hopefully they'll do right by this one as well.

The Polygon article says the campaign runs 10-12 hours.

no it isn't. sly 4 was average length, not short, and it sold for 40 bucks day 1.

lower quality or smaller size? stop saying opinions as facts. a lower price is just that - a lower price.

So why have Sony shown off The Uncharted Collection and R&C ahead of the show? I'd have thought those would both be big deals for the conference.

What the hell are you on about? The difference between 30 and 60 fps is not hypothetical.

This is something you'd put in a conference

You would think so given that there is a movie tie in. But they want to get as much VR in there and some traditional games are getting the shaft. So now you have an early reveal so it at least gets some time to itself even if its only Pre-E3.
