And yet the XBox is selling quite well here in America. To just ignore the sales is beyond ignorant. The thing is you only see domination when the market in America is not this way at all. Noone even knows who's going to win the console war here in the states,Sony has a 700,000 unit lead, that is peanuts man. Capcom are watching, you can bet on that. LOL. In a few years I wouldn't be surprised to see this game release on X1 and Nintendo's next platform,if things continue as they are for the X1, and if Nintendo are the old Nintendo of old,pre N64 era. Capcom are just doing lip service for Sony right now. If you look at their history they don't always hold true exclusivity to one platform.

Companies look at things beyond the number of units they also look at where the audience that buys their games are at. The fighting game audience is probably on the ps4 already when you compare the amount of fighting games on ps4 to xbone.

And I love your mention of ancient Sony atrocities to really hammer home their evility.

Are you being sarcastic? Because someone said earlier in this thread that people forget too soon about "deals" so I thought, well, perhaps remind people of something that happened before ;)

So basically your point is US sales trump all? Let's agree to disagree, especially when the disparity outside of the US is so overwhelming.

As for this deal, well it's done and over.

They probably have a contract.

Funny that some people cannot see the different between RE4 and SFV situation.

RE4 was promised the be exclusive by Mikami. Not Capcom. The game never get funded by Nintendo. Nor having exclusive deal. It was all about production studio 5 craziness and want industry to shift focus to GC. Capcom even annouce the PS2 version right before the game release.

SFV on the other hand partially funded and pretty much get the exclusive deal contacted by Sony. As they need fighting community to stay after MS secure exclusive deal on Mortal Combat. Just like Nintendo fund Bayonetta 2. The game will never come out on other machine.

And now you're being ignorant by ignoring the global sales of both PS4 and XOne.

Just get over it. Like Microsoft never moneyhatted a company!?

Both did it, both do it and both will continue to do it. Of course you could always argue with how it's worded but in the end it's paying money for a game and the result is a (perhaps timed) exclusive.

Jump in, dragon punch, wait til they get up, fire ball... After 25 years of that it's just boring gameplay now. The fighting genre needs a huge leap in a new direction.

"Exclusively on PS4 and PC"

The Gameplay Trailer at PSX:
"Console Exclusivity on the Playstation 4 system"

On stage at PSX:
"Street Fighter 5 is coming exclusively to playstation 4 and PC."

"PlayStation 4 is the only console this game appears on"

.

.

People are still saying this is coming to Xbox... Especially considering how Capcom said that the game would not even exist with Sony's help.

This is bayonetta 2 all over again.

Well, first of all, this isn't really true at all because if it was that simple, we wouldn't have guys that beat novice or average skilled players in seconds ;)
But I guess you are right somehow: I loved Bushido Blade, for example. It at least tried to be different.

Zero-gravity fighter. No jump ins, every fight looks like the hallway scene from Inception.

Fireballs push you away when you fire them. You can fire them in different directions to control your movement.

Shit, no wonder why I am so bad at Street Fighter. I always throw a fireball, jump in, and THEN dragon punch. I have had it mixed up for years! Thank you for setting me straight, sir.

Can you teach me Blanka next?

Isn't the PlayStation controller better for fighters than the Xbox controller anyway? I know sticks are considered definitive for most hardcore fighting game enthusiasts, but I mean between traditional game controllers. Something about better D-Pad I think?

Yup. 360 is garbage for fighters and the xbone isn't much better in the d pad department. Some here will tell you some pros use a 360 pad, which doesn't change the fact that the d pad is shit and hardly improved on the xbone.

Stark difference between the tone in this thread and the Tomb Raider one. I really detest these deals, it isn't even a 'console' exclusive, they've been paid to keep it off a single platform which is the shittiest type of deal a developer can make with an established franchise. They seem to be becoming more prevalent this generation.

I guess I take some solace in the fact SFV probably wouldn't have been made if they never struck the deal right? So when I look at it that way it's a great thing. Better than no SFV at all.

Always thought this was the case, people were absoultely clutching at straws saying a "insert prefix here" SFV would come to xbox

Walk foward, 'pew pew pew!' is just boring gameplay now. The FPS genre needs a huge leap in a new direction.

Hold down a button, turn left, turn right... It's just boring gameplay now. The racing genre needs a huge leap in a new direction.

Yeah, we need to be able to fireball, wait till they get up, dragon punch and only then jump in

It's obviously the next level

1 game is announced without any platform and presumably all. (Include preorder available for all)
Then suddenly become exclusive and doesnt explain whether it is timed or not.

The other one has the leader keep saying on and on and on that they doesnt have the fund to make this game.
Then suddenly come out with Sony exclusive as they help them funding this game.

I detest people who cant differentiate this.

Not to mention that Xbone doesnt allow crossplay with PC which is a huge deal too.

"Resident Evil 4 will definitely release only on GameCube, not on another console, if it happens, I will cut my head off."

Resident Evil 4 is on anything but ATM machines now.

I know it's not the same situation.

I'm not sure where the every game has to be on literally every viable platform mentality comes from.

If you want to play the games on PS4 buy a PS4, if you want to play the games on Xbone buy an Xbone, that is how it works.

In this particular case it makes even less dense to me as the game likely would not even be developed to begin with had Sony not stepped in and it's not even exclusive to Sony's platforms, it's multiplatform and will be coming to PC as well.

For what it's worth I think the cut his head off part was a figure of speech rather than a literal statement.

Did you even read my second line, I recognise this very clearly. It's better than no game produced at all.

I don't quite understand this post and the happiness behind this post...

I thought 3rd party exclusives, especially for AAA titles, are hated by gamers.
It is and It should, but I rather it release exclusively on a platform than not releasing at all.

On one hand, I'm upset that it isn't coming to every console community.

On the other hand I'm very happy that there isn't going to be a playerbase split this time (because crossplay + 1 console).
