What happens when it goes beyond $2M? Does the campaign continue or end?
I aint never played a Shenmue title before. Guess I'll track down a dreamcast.
Im also concerned with the precedent this sets. Will it lead to more on stage pan handling? Whats next will Nintendo get on stage and be like "Metroid Prime 4 can be yours....if the fans cough up $20 million dollars to help us ease development costs!" Its an annoying proposition. Either announce the damn game or don't announce it.
Isn't translating like super expensive and complex work?

2 million just can't be enough to do this right. Even with Dreamcast level graphics.

I'M HYPERVENTILATING!
It doesn't not and there is nothing wrong with using kickstarter this way. If this didn't get funded the game wouldn't be made if it does than great.Im also concerned with the precedent this sets. MY BROTHERS. THE TIME FOR YOU TO FULFIL YOUR DUTY IS AT HAND.My brothers. The day of reckoning is near at hand. We have endured for so long but finally the Shenmue is upon us.
The non-believers have long doubted our cause. Saying we were chasing after Suzuki's ghost, but soon all of this is over. We will have to endure the hazing and Yakuza comparisons no longer!
Let us rejoice!

I think this is a similar case of what's happening to BloodStained. If they can prove it can gather up a certain amount of money then Sony's gonna pony up the rest for them. I mean, why do you think it's not coming to the Xbox One (or even Wii U for that matter)
We've seen what happened with Street Fighter V so this is not something out of the realms of possibility.
2 Million is also a bit on the low end for a game in 2015 (except if it's a snall indie game I guess)
Can't say I like it but hey, it's better than getting nothing at all.
The other amazing thing about this campaign is that the backers are averaging nearly $100 each.

I can't even imagine what Sega/Shenmue/Dreamcast fans are feeling tonight. Congrats guys!

Isn't $2 million a pretty small amount for a game like Shenmue? Are we sure Suzuki's not going to take the money and flee to Cancun?
If Sega's not involved I wonder what they'll do for the capsule toys. They can't use Sony toys as this takes place in the 1980s.
