Capcom vs DC is finally happening! :D

I doubt it. I'd believe some kind of crazy MK vs Darkstalkers thing before I actually let myself believe Capcom got ahold of DC for a fighter. Especially after how popular all the Injustice stuff was...they're currently doing year 4 of the Injustice comic series and its still a pretty well received thing. My guess is they'll just keep publishing it till they get to Injustice 2.Its still fun to dream though...we all know the endgame would be capcom doing a Marvel vs DC game. People would play that even if it was Evil Zone tier.

I just hope whatever is gonna happen involving capcom and fighters involves more tag fighters. I really miss them.

Warner helps publish/distribute Capcom games in Brazil. I thought this was common knowledge?

EDIT: In other words. Don't jump to conclusions.

It was a joke, but if this ever happens, it wont be Capcom getting ahold of DC license, but WB commissioning Capcom to make the game.

If there's anything that could push to 4 days, that would probably be it. 2xSF, 2xSmash, and both SF games on the PT? Jesus.

I suspect they'd dump non-sponsored games entirely first instead of going to 4 days.

Smash players are the worst thing to happen to EVO. They smell bad, are rude, and are just generally gross folks.

I've got nothing against the game but the players are another story.

From my experience they're no worse than the anime-FGC.

I thought kids just watched anime on the internet. TV is shit these days.

Also, should I buy Yata from Steam or from Humble Bundle? Humble Bundle gives a DRM free version, not sure what advantage it gives beyond that. What say you, FGW?

Humble gives the devs more of a cut than Steam does.

They... already have? The publisher of every game officially at Evolution this year is sponsoring the event.

Unless you mean that they would just kick out all of the side games, which would suck beyond belief -- and even then, it would not be enough if SF5 ends up drawing 5,000+ players or something bonkers.

This doesn't make any sense. Brasil Game Show only starts on October 8th, is there a Warner conference today @ ComicCon or something?
I think Ono is just being glib and is referencing SDCC. Isn't the SF panel today?

Saw this interesting post by Tenryo on the dustloop forums about Chaos Code 3 days ago:

Hello again.

I've been seeing a lot of people come to these random and (mostly) negative assumptions, which is why I'm here, so let's talk. I'm here to clear a few things up.

You're all probably asking the obvious questions that falls among the lines of "Why the hell is the console version just now receiving NSC 1.03 despite 2.00+?" "Where's the netplay? You promised us netplay!" "Did you forget about Steam?"

I'll answer the first question in two parts. The main reason for this is because we were harshly off schedule due to some distribution miscommunications. To put it as bluntly as possible, this NSC 1.03 update was sent to our publisher (ArcSys) nearly 8 months ago, and was supposed to be QAed and delivered to the many Sony branches by our publisher. To be fair to them, I'm pretty sure they were swamped with working on their projects (you guys literally have 3 popular ArcSys games + UNIEL to choose from on a whim) so I can not hold that against them. Even after which they finally released it, it takes a while to be accepted by the many Sony branches around the world, which takes even more time, as they also have their own schedules.

I have seen many consistently (and relentlessly) ask for the status of the update via @ArcSystemWorksU on Twitter, as they were also confused and had no clue what Sony was doing.

Basically, you all were supposed to be playing this update ages ago. I can only apologize for the severe inconvenience, as this one was out of our hands.

Now for the second reason, I'm going to chop off my leg for and be completely honest here. Yes, arcade releases are top priority. Not just with us, but with every company that has a FG or two in the arcade market. Japanese arcades are our main bread and butter. Many companies like ArcSys, Capcom, etc. receive a majority of their earnings from arcade revenue, and that will not change anytime soon. It is the same reason why you have seen most of Arc's console/arcade releases are almost never updated simultaneously. Can't make money if no one is in the arcades spending, right? Why go to an arcade when you have the same exact version at a greater convenience?

That is half of the story, as since NESiCA gives us the option to easily distribute updates, we are able to let players run free and test everything, so when we are ready to update to consoles, whatever problems arose in the arcade versions can be dealt with accordingly. This doesn't even cover the potential porting problems we may run into, which is it's own beast.

However, it does not mean that we don't care about console/PC releases. It is not an afterthought, there are just specific complications which hinder our schedules like manpower into other projects, communications with our partners, and other things which would probably put me on a frying pan if I mention it here.

As far as netplay is concerned, I'll give you a bit of insight. Most of you may not remember me holding a small contest (right here in this very thread) to name our ranking system, but we have implemented the Chaos Point ranking system in 2.00. The fun fact about this is that it was first designed for the console versions. We are nearly complete with Network Mode and more, we just needed to find a reliable structure for it, and we've found our answer.

Do not worry, we haven't forgotten about potentially releasing Chaos Code on Steam, and we never will. This is a personal project which I have initiated, and I will see it through to the very end.

If you have any questions, please ask away. I will answer them to the best of my ability.

Thanks for playing.

Squabbling over this year's EVO scheduling is cute and all, but I personally can't wait for the riot that will be SF4 @ EVO 2016.

Is EVO going to try its hardest to bury the game to make way for the newer games, despite there almost assuredly being enough leftover interest for it to attract good numbers? Or are the second-tier games really going to be in danger of being pushed aside in favor of two Street Fighters?

depends on how shitty SF5 turns out imo

That means dumping Smash Melee and possibly Marvel, and SF5 and Tekken 7 (which wouldn't draw over 1000) being the only new games.

BTW I'm pretty sure that what Tenryo is saying isn't the case for Capcom. It is for Namco/Arcsys though.

That said, Chaos Code pretty much blew any shot at the Western audience with its delays. They just didn't deliver, and the game was truly amazing, a way would have been found.

I don't think USF4 will get Marvel's spot, or even Melee's spot. But I do think it will still get a good/decent time slot. Either a prime time Saturday or the 2nd game on Sunday which honestly isn't that bad. I say that because I'm pretty confident the game will still draw in big numbers and not get completely abandoned like some people are thinking it will or are hoping for. It just won't be back to back or too close to SFV on the schedule.

But yeah, someone else will suffer because of two SF's. It won't bother me any though lol. I know some people will be bitching next year that EVO is nothing but SF and Smash though.

I think the only thing that made it a dead on arrival, is the fact that it has no online play. They should also think about giving it an extended title or something, when netplay and all updates are finally integrated. To show that it's an updated version.
PC market might also be viable as long as it's the most up to date version along with consoles.

We're closer to having a 4 day event than EVO re-scaling into a smaller tournament. It's at the point where most major Fighting Game companies want their game to be featured at EVO, and are willing to pay for it. The EVO guys are not going to turn away free money. That's why the schedule is what it is.

My only pool that changed and I'm facing someone named Nicalrant instead of Huber (who I learned is one of the socal players). I also now have a japanese player in my pool called Esuta, any info on him?

Not a peep from me tbh, I would prefer that to having to stay up late on a Sunday.
I'm not saying everyone would be pissed, but I'm sure you can agree that there would be an equivalent degree of rage.

Especially if it resulted in two Smash games on Sunday. ;-)

Are those sheep?

For those who want to read about the PS4 SFV Beta:
The first BETA kicks off on July 23rd (18:00 PT), July 24th (03:00 CEST/10:00 JST)) for 5 days and is exclusive to PS4 users. The primary purpose of this BETA is to test the online net code, as this is something that Capcom is taking very seriously with Street Fighter V. The data that we receive from this BETA will help us to improve the net code in the final product, so we thank you in advance for participating in the BETA.
