Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
I would've never wanted to see this. RIP Satoru-san :(
Please, someone modify my avatar with the ribbon. I'll put it in the next hours. It's very early here and I should sleep more. If I can ;_;

I'm not sure I can accurately describe how I feel right now. I just want to give respect to the man behind some of my favorite childhood games. I may not be much of a Nintendo fan nowadays, but I'll always remember how I felt about them in my childhood.

Wow. I just saw the news. Saddened. My first console was a NES. My Dad got it for me and he recently passed as well. Hug your dads.

Wow! I am shocked. I really don't know what to say. Such a crushing blow.
RIP Iwata-san. You will never be forgotten.

Ribbon me please! ;-( ;-( ;-(.

No matter how much flak people gave Nintendo over the years I'm as big a fan as ever. I've owned every Nintendo system since the SNES.

Iwata was really personable, like during that Smash bros fight with Reggie. Only Nintendo could pull that off with their CEO. Usually the business guys aren't as recognized by the fans that way, truly showed how he really was a gamer at heart.

He was a great man and skilled business person. This is a heavy loss not only for Nintendo, but for enthusiasts of gaming the world over.

RIP, good sir.

We see the bickering and fighting when we go online to chat, because we go online to chat in order to bicker and fight, not to agree on obvious things. And that time spent bickering by a few hardcore folks online is dwarfed 100 fold by the amount of time people around the world spend having amazing, fun, and social experiences with video games; on their own, with friends, with family.

We should never forget that.

I'm sorry, you are right. I feel upon reflection I have not done enough to try and make those memories either on my own or with others, which is what games are all about after all.

Perhaps that is the best thing I could do in remembrance of Mr. Iwata.

Iwata was always up to date with trends but also keen on staying ahead of them. This can be said even for when he programmed the Star Trek mainframe game onto an HP calculator years before Japan's PC industry boomed. He was principled, industrious, and unsurprisingly a major contributor to Nintendo's business even in early times. The most I can say for him is that, after three generations of Yamauchi sons running Nintendo, Iwata became the corporate leader through skill, ethic, and nick-of-time intervention.

Rest in peace, and a long afterlife!

Wow..... While I'm not much of a Nintendo fan ( born in the playstation era); I do acknowledge how big of a figure he was to the video gaming community. R.I.P

Man, this is truly sad news:(

I was more of a Genesis kid but my first console experience, like with many others of my age or slightly older, was with NES and Mario. I'm feeling more upset than I thought I would.

It's a pity he never got to see the launch of NX and whatever Quality of Life is supposed to be. I hope Nintendo can carry on his spirit.

I should really get a Wii U soon but budget's tight and my country's Nintendo distributor stopped officially selling the Wii U last year due to reasons unknown so that makes it more difficult to get one.

Anybody have a link to /v/?? Never been there and am curious to read that thread about E3 2016. I honestly wouldn't put it past Iwata with his last breath to make a video. I think he'll be more loved and remembered than Yamauchi was. I hope in Japan there's a Nintendo hall of game with statues of Iwata, Yamauchi, Mario, Zelda, Kirby etc on the company's history.
