:)

edit: I think I'm going to use it myself.

I've never had a cover photo on Facebook until now. Thanks for making this.

He was our friend. He never met most any of us, but he was our friend; we felt his love and passion, and he knew that others appreciated that as well.

I'm taking it hard myself; I can't sleep, and I have to work. Please don't misunderstand me, I am not trying to be egotistical or inappropriate for saying this, but... he knew that we knew that Nintendo was Nintendo, because of him; I know this for a fact because I wrote it for the card we made for him.

He knew that Nintendo was Nintendo because of him, he knew that even though the suits and the press and the market was against him, he was trusted and loved and people believed in him...

And in his last year, the company turned a profit, announcements were made, and the question mark of "what happens now?" is filled with the least amount of anxiety it can get, all things considered.

He was loved, he was loved, and we'll miss him, and remember him, and never stop loving what he did, how he did it, and what he stood for.

Don't you get it? There are no happy endings, because... because nothing ends.
You understand. I understand....We understand. He doesn't have to say please anymore. We understand, Iwata. We understand.

RIP

I knew there was something off about him in the last few directs. Looked very frail, almost like someone who had done chemo.

Rest in peace Satoru Iwata. I knew he wasn't feeling well for a while, but I never knew why he was and I feel ashamed I didn't know how serious it was. Sad day for us all.

God damnit, Iwata.

You were too young, too brilliant. Nintendo won't be the same without you. Thank you for all you've done for your company and our childhoods.

Rest in peace.

Thanks Mr. Iwata, for everything. You gave happiness to everyone in the world. Even if people don't know it, or will never know it, you will still be touching the life and hearts of people for decades to come.

This is horrible.

He improved the company so much under his tenure. History will be kinder than we have and will look back, even on Wii U - as a step in the right direction. It was always to Nintendo's benefit to have someone who understood gaming - true fun-imbuing gaming - at the head of the company. I hope, in honour of men like Iwata - that continues to be the case. I'm minded to send a card to HQ in Kyoto, I was there only a few short months ago.

It was obvious he'd been ill but I had no idea it would be something devastating like this. I feel so sorry for colleagues and friends who would have worked closely with him, but moreover - his family.

I am sure he deserves every tribute he receives today. Gone but never forgotten. RIP Iwata-san.

Oh my god, I can't believe it. I really liked the guy ;_;
One of the last major CEOs who was actually a game dev himself, and it really really showed. No corporate suit could have shown the same level of care and insight he did in his Iwata Asks...

I'm glad he got to do one last one for splatoon ;_;

RIP. He did a lot of good things for Nintendo and for gaming in general and he seemed to be a genuinely funny guy that cared about his company and respected his customers. You can't say that about many CEOs...

NO WAY! WHAT? WHY?

Rest In Peace, Iwata-san.

God damnit, this picture really got to me.

I can't believe how much this is getting to me as a whole. Iwata was a relatable and aspirational person who worked hard and always did things his way for better or worse. Absolute legend in this industry, he leaves a big hole in the heart of gaming.

I keep thinking I'm okay. But then I think about how Smash Bros and Pokemon Gold were two of the most relevant things to my childhood and how Nintendo would not be what it is without him and then I just can't stop the tears

Truly sad news to wake up to this morning. He had a great impact on my life.....really one of the easiest executives/representatives to relate to. I wish his family and friends the best.
