Holy hell did that make me tear up. 3yrs ago I watched it with excitement & today I can't help but feel sad.
This has pushed me over the edge ;(
Very good article here
Satoru Iwata changed the whole games industry and now leaves it in mourning
Same feel smh. Every opportunity I got I come back to thread...get reminded of the somberness...but its like a group hug at the same time. We all suffered a gut punch...we all felt this. In this moment we bond over games like 90s couch multiplayer. Side by side we can relate to each others sentiments...kinda glad I don't know gaffers in public or else all it would take the similar sullen look I'm portraying to make me wail man...i wanna sob so bad...been holding it tight all day...but the random tears keep coming. Legit just wanna buy a n64 and just chill for the next week...Man, I've been so busy at work and every time I get a chance to visit Neogaf I'm reminded of this...and each time I feel like I lost a family member ;(
Also the tribute art has been off the charts incredible yet extremely emotional at the same time.
RIP IWATA YOU WILL BE DEEPLY MISSED!

I always post on Nintendo-related news stuff how cool it would be if such-and-such thing was added to Smash Bros., but if any of my requests actually happen, I hope it's that they'll add Balloon Fighter as DLC in the future as a tribute. I always think of Iwata when I see that character, especially after watching him play it in that video.

Are there any good podcasts talking about Iwata, his accomplishments, where the company goes from here? I listened to his '05 GDC speech which was lovely. At work, trying to work can't read but would really like to hear people talk about his impact.
I think a free DLC Iwata trophy would be great. A cartoony, Mii version in a pose and with a description that reminds readers of the fun and enjoyment he brought to the gaming industry would do just the trick.
Both sound great! I just think with his close ties to the Smash series, any tribute would be amazing.nah bro go one step further
a new Smash character with a final smash and everything called Directly To You
I'm glad we did this, at least he knew we really did care.

After reflecting on his early days of games programming he said that observing the sales of Miyamotos games had convinced him of one thing: engineering is not quite as important as imagination.

Yeah this picture gets me every time. Especially poor Kirby with his Maxim Tomato wanting to help Iwata any way he can.
Would it be possible for NeoGAF to set up something to enable people who want to, to donate for flowers or even a statue?
Fascinating, it funny to see Iwata-san progressively easing to a more informal language register.Iwata playing Balloon Fight:

Not sure if it's been posted already, but apparently Nintendo World is doing a little memorial service for Iwata and opened up a little area where you can write something.

Not sure how long it'll be open, but if anyone has any deets, let me know! Gonna head out around there anyway later today, but I'll probably leave earlier if it's not up for long.
I hope they're ok
Anyone know who drew this? I wanted to post this elsewhere and credit the artist.
The only thing that makes this even sadder is how the last thing we ever heard from him was a sort of soft apology regarding this year's E3.

Anyone play Wario Ware: Smooth Moves?
9-Volt's stage starts with a broken Game & Watch and ends with Shop Manager Iwata.
