What game does Scalebound most remind you of?

I don't like the music a great deal, but I won't openly shit on it because I adored the soundtracks to bayonetta and rising and they're weird as fuck.

Why does everything have to be RPG and or open now? What's wrong with a straight action game? I'm dissapointed...

Not what I expected or wanted from Kamiya.

Looks like Okami but now your a dude/dragon thing, and everything looks realistic. Combat looks servicable, hope they add more to it though.

I like the look of this so far.

Only complaint I have is that the enemies looked too easy to kill. Like they only took 2 hits.

Game reminds me of Jade Empire weirdly enough. So really liking the environmental music, not so much the techno stuff. The non-combat music has a sort of calming effect and is charming on its own. Visually this is probably the best looking game Platinum has ever done. Guess that's one of the advantage of not targeting 60 FPS, although even with the IGN version I noticed a few drops although it seemed better than the stage demo. Environments look surprisingly nice though inside the semi-open cave.

Combat seems fine. There seems to be some level of execution focus in that shields seem to completely block damage and overall position maneuvering. There does seem to be basic RPG elements as seen by the number counters, skill points, and red orbs (currency?). I'm not sure if there is a scavenging element or if you just have to hit RB every time to absorb the red orbs from dead enemies. Hopefully the grappling mechanism can be used on smaller enemies. In addition to that, the dragon mechanics also could do with a bit more complexity.

The visuals are top-notch and I have to admit that for some reason, the OST hit me in the right way.

The main character's design is just terrible though. Holy crap. I'm not too down on the combat like others though. I'll have to wait and see. It's not quite the system seller I thought it'd be (yet), but I'm still hopeful.

Looks better than the horribly bland Dragon Quest 11 main. I actually thought the head phones was a cool touch

This was so disappointing. Worst reveal of the show IMO. The Protagonist... The combat... So not what I wanted or expected. Ken Lobb oversold the shit out of this one

Looks good to me. Framerate definitely needs work but it's pre-alpha. I see a lot of potential in the combat system based off the giant bug fight, but the combat on the smaller enemies looked pretty generic.

Need moar gameplay.

The more I see & hear the MC the more he reminds me of NuDante which is an awful, awful thing. The music isn't helping either. Not being hype for a Platinum game feels weird & wrong to me, hoping these 4 weeks of previews help fix that.

Why are strippers at the U.N. bad when they're great at strip clubs???
Love it!

I can't stand the IGN player, so I'll wait for the youtube version!

Hoping we get to see Kamiya playing it since I what I saw I liked but I didn't particularly love it but it could just be the player here.

optimistically cautious about it. usually not my type of game, though i like the idea. curious to see the combat expanded, the world, multiplayer and other things before i'm completely sold.

I'm sure it will be great because Platinum/Kamiya, but that video sure was underwhelming.
Agreed. The monster battle seemed fun, but that was about it.

There didn't seem to be any sense of danger or exploration or anything conveyed here, which I'm sure will be there in the final game. It just seemed like an idiot and his dragon ruining everyone's day for the lulz. Like, that Hydra-variant at the end was quite happy in his sealed cave until they came in and messed things up, so maybe that's why it didn't feel as EPIC™ as it might have done.

Looks very FFXV meets XCX, which is fine company to be in at this stage. Look forward to future info, I guess.

Watching the IGN video. Combat against anything that isn't a giant monster looks pretty meh to me. Nothing stylish or satisfying about it, seemingly. I think at one point he runs up to an insect enemy to one-hit kill it with a shoulder charge or something. Certainly not up to Platinum's standard.

I'll reserve any final judgement until after the framerate gets polished out. Its just hard for me to watch right now due to how choppy it is.

Microsoft can have the beginnings of a special franchise here. Looks good. Only negative I would say is I hope the frame rate gets ironed out a bit.

Watched the ign video. Yeah not feeling the main character. He looks meh. His Dragon Knight mode looks dope though!

And yeah, combat looks aight. Definitely not boring or bad or amazing, but just aight. You know what though? I don't even care. This is the first Platinum game I've ever been excited for, and its because it's not like other Platinum games. Even if the combat ends up being utter crap, I feel obligated to buy this game because DRAGONS. Guys....DRAGONS, that you can fly and not just kill. This is the game I will eventually buy an XB1 for.

Not feeling the music either, at all. It seems out of place.

The environment shown look nice, if a bit empty.

Oh, and did I mention dragons? No? Dragons!

OK the extended gameplay was better. Still want to hear more about the combat system, their seemed to be light amount of defensive options in. As well as a enemy combo type hit counter.

Oh and they need to add more command variants for your dragon.

If it shows up next E3 with a terrible framerate, then I'll start to worry about the final release, I'm hoping Platinum and MS can iron it out in the year they've got for this

Pre-alpha as well. This is Platinum, so have no fear.

Outside of MGR for PC, Platinum games generally don't have the best framerates. Still love their games in spite of that

I saw a stinger, I saw a round table, the combat will be fine.

More importantly, I saw climb prompts and magical laser tethers. Dragon's Dogma elements confirmed.

I'm not saying day 1, because I don' thave an xbone. but if I do by then, Day one.

The game doesnt come out for a year and a half, I dont get why people even worried about the framerate

Right? We are 18 months away and people are complaining about how it runs.

Why did anyone expect this to be a straight action game? He said it's something he has never done before last year

So it is more of an action RPG like Xenoblade X, FFXV and DD. I'm alright with that.

Did I expect a more character action game ala DMC and Bayo? A bit, but I'm not at all against this. If anything, this could be the next best thing next to DD as far as satisfying combat in an RPG goes.

UE4 games looking very similar though. This whole plasticine look, I mean. KHIII has it, SFV has it. This has it.

I look forward to the next drop of info. Hopefully character customisation or something.

Hold on, friend! I'd love to share with you some swell news about the Windows 8 Metro UI! Wait, where are you going?
The IGN footage looked even better. Love the environment in that section.

Wonder how big the game world is. Judging by the map that section is pretty small.

I don't know if it was because of the fact that it was a demo, but enemies died rather quickly. Hopefully in the full game, there is combo potential, like most of PG games. Besides that, however, game looks great.

Why are we even freaking out about a "main character" in a game that offers 4p?

I hope they go crazy with customization, and not just in the character design way.

Since the character is listening to his own soundtrack, let me customize that to my liking, with it still dynamically shifting with the gameplay.

Let me customize their voice and base personality. Cocky, Cool Under Fire, Seductive, Playful, Genki, whatever. Just because they're a voiced protag doesn't mean they have to be plain and unoriginal.

We could see there are different weapons, I hope you can really change the protag and fight styles easily enough.

The beast is our own personal mega-companion? Will we be offering it evolution cues, or can get capture and tame the boss monsters we fight in the environment? Does the beast resonate with the dragon form, bringing new powers of tech with different types?

Is the MP a focus of the game, or a side thing? I don't mind "Slow Gameplay" if it's placed with the idea of keeping 4 players and 4 beast manageable for easy readability on screen.

It really feels a bit like Soul Sacrifice... not bad company to be in, to me. I hope it has hub towns and NPCs with fun designs and personalities.
