Zombi - Pure Survival Horror is coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC [ZombiU Port]

Brightness does not bother me, it never adds to a horror aspect being dark, it just makes for shitty and annoying gameplay where you cannot see very well.

Games like the old Resident Evil never screwed with your vision, locations were always will lit, even those taking place outside at night with no light sources around except the moon and stars.

So, there's a mini map toggle or this is just the beginning without it?

Also, DX9 hm? Need to figure out which engine it uses to try forcing AO and SGSSAA using Inspector.

no, you get the minimap just after those bits.

last few, you get the idea.

more importantly, it runs 200fps+ with a 970. no graphical options to tinker with so your mileage may vary but it's doesn't seem like a very demanding game at all.

Looks good. I'm coming home, going to get it on Steam and will test some Inspector flags and Reshade effects to see what we can get.

I'd like to hear more from PS4 users who pick this up. I watched the hour stream yesterday, but that was on my phone and I couldn't really tell that much because I was also working and only half-watching. I have it on Wii U and am enticed by brighter environments (game is too damn dark) and being able to stream/record.

just noticed after trying it with my 360 pad, you can change the button prompts from xbox to playstation. that's something more devs need to implement. thumbs up for that!

It's pretty odd they gutted the lens filters. I mean, if that's not your thing, I can dig it. But ZombiU is one of the very, very few games where I was cool with the lens filters and chromatic aberration. Aesthetically it's going for a grungy, dirty, low res, British indy handy cam footage look and thought it accomplished it really well. Like all the crap filtering/post processing and shit on the screen came together for a distinctive look. Despite hating that shit in most games, it looks missing here.

Yeah, I really dug the 28 Days Later aesthetics the game had on the Wii U. The screens of even the PC version look really odd without them.

Jeez, it sounds like all Ubi gave a budget for was making it work without the Gamepad. I feel bad for Straight Right.

Its a shame UBisoft cheaped out, since Straight Right ports on WiiU had stuff added like leaving messages online and videos to friends on Deus ex DC.

You could add in lens flares, Martins CustomFx film grain, and chromatic abberation. I'd be curious to see how it looks with the ReShade implementation

The CA is still there, but true the 'bokeh' dirty lens effect added atmosphere that really worked for the game.

I will confirm it once more.

- Not able to loot dead Friends.
- Not able to leave messages to Friends.
- Unable to see your own shadow (lol).
- Unable to be truly immersed (no Gamepad, way too much brightness)
- Terrible UI
- Missing visual effects (Texture Filtering, Filters, shadows and detail on various objects and Zombis.

No, it varies between 10 - 60 fps.

God everyone do yourselves a favour and get a cheap Wii U - I got my ZombiU digitally for €10

Guess I'll get the PC version in hopes of mod support

Already bought my copy for PC, fingers crossed that modding community will be able to figure this one out. I am no expert in the matter but wouldn't the hooks/code to do this potentially still be in place?

Welp, so the only version that isn't on the level of the usual 3rd party WiiU game is actually PC and that's because someone somewhere is going to make something good with it?
Thanks Ubi for not making me feel bad for not double dipping.

PC version is a pretty decent port, it seems? Sure, no lens flare (which you probably can add in with ReShade), but 60+ and higher res on mid range PC's is not a bad deal. Specially considering it could be frame locked like the other port released today (Type-0).

I'm playing at a pretty steady 120fps, the only time it dips is when it's streaming in new parts of the level (I'd assume), and briefly in the first open area it dropped to 115fps. Other than that, it's really smooth.

It's a barebones port as far as options goes, but it runs great. I do have a problem where I can only select one (my native) resolution, though. I had to disable 4K on my TV to be able to even choose 1080. No idea if that's universal or just my weird setup.

I'll run it on my laptop in a little bit to give an idea of performance on lower end PCs (i7 4720HQ with an 860m, which is a 750Ti)

Well its tackign as 9th "Top Selling" game on steam in just short few hours, which means its kind of good news despite being a poor port.

All these years there was ONLY ONE game i actualy wanted to play on WiiU, and ZombiU was that game. Barebones and what not, at least i finaly get to play the damn thing for $25 beaver bucks.

Why not run it at 4K, though?

I don't mind a barebones port as long as they take care of native resolution and optimization.

The extra visual settings can be taken care of from third party tools and drivers, >60 FPS is a nice bonus.

i feel like the only person having almost no issues. I am on xbox one, the only things that have happened to me so far

-game kept crashing when I would click on the tile to launch it. Had to try to about 6 times when I initially started the game. Like, it wouldnt even get to the game, just the launch screen then crash. Idk if thats a problem with the game, or the xbox

-it dipped to a very low fps for 2 seconds, then I never saw it dip again. It happened right outside of
buckingham palace, where you have to fight off a large hoard with the turret. I shot an explosive barrel and that caused it

those are all of the technical problems I have had so far, and I think I am kind of far in the game
