Excellent thread, very informative. Sony studios operating at 100% is awesome to see
. Anyway, PGW will be pretty good, and PSX will be even better this year. We get those three announcements, and a few smaller ones, and I think everyone will be pretty ecstatic heading into 2016.
Shouldn't Bluepoint Games get a section - they do a lot of first-party contract work for SCE. I mean they are developing the two big holiday games: Uncharted Collection and Gravity Rush.
Next up: Demon's Souls
BELIEVE
They're remasters, not sure why they should count since they're offering nothing new at all.Shouldn't Bluepoint Games get a section - they do a lot of first-party contract work for SCE. I mean they are developing the two big holiday games: Uncharted Collection and Gravity Rush.
That's not saying much. I expect Quantic's new game, Bend's and GT7. All have been hinted to be shown at some point this year. I would wager we see GOW at PSX and Level 5 jRPG.Madridista said:3 more reveals you say? Hype's on!
Anyway, I have more than enough games to play this holiday. I'm super excited to get going with Until Dawn, Tearaway Unfolded and Disgaea 5 especially.

GT7 has been stated that it will come out next year, so it should be expected. SMS has hinted heavily towards PSX on several occasions. Level 5 was supposed to announce their game at E3 this year. QD being at their home country is a given, esp since they said once they would be at E3 but weren't.We won't see God of War 4 or the Sony JRPG until next year I think. I think we'll get Quantic Dreams' project, probably Gran Turismo 7 (even though I still think we won't get an announcement until next year) and maybe Bend's game yeah. Gran Turismo 7 alone would be huge.
They already have a section under second-party?
I'm pretty sure all that Polyphony Digital have said is, that fans won't have the same patience as during Gran Turismo 5's development, and that the development should be quicker.GT7 has been stated that it will come out next year, so it should be expected. I'd add a few things.
1. FunBits is making Fat Princess Adventures. They've previously made Fat Princess and Escape Plan.
2. ClapHanz has a long history of Hot Shots games with Sony
3. Q-Games could probably have PixelJunk in their history.
4. Housemarque is currently making AlieNation. History is Dead Nation, Resogun, and Super Stardust.
5. We know Level 5 is making a Sony published game, they have openly stated that. Their history is Dark Cloud, Rogue Legacy, and White Knight Chronicles.
6. Capcom is not an actual publishing partner and shouldn't be on this list.
7. Insomniac absolutely MUST be on this list for Ratchet and Clank.
8. Wattam is being made by Keita Takahashi.
9. From is making Bloodborne DLC still.
Maybe you confused me with someone else with that particular point? When it comes to game announcements, Worldwide Studios can prepare for that quite early. For example, TLG was being thrown around to be announced at E3 2015 since late last year, which was why I told people to expect an announcement in 2015 when they were getting their hopes up for PSX last year. Not that anyone listened. The script for the conference, and nitty gritty of the presentation is what tends to get finalized upto the day of the presentation. That's just natural though since the organizers get the presenters script ready, and they fine-tune things, and there tends to be minor changes here and there usually for various things. When someone like Shu does the rounds with his teams, and sees projects, they'll generally have a good idea of where they're sitting in development, and what the internal target is, and then they use that kind of stuff for preliminary planning and coordinate with the involved parties, and if it's the right time to show things etc. They also have internal trailers, presentations, and things like that. So usually, you tend to have a decent idea of when a game is likely to show up. But it's just a case of whether they feel it's appropriate to do so or not. That's always WWS's call.
Basically, it kind of depends, but they are good about organizing things, and staying on top of it all. You're right that there can be changes of course, but generally, planning and preparation for the major events can begin quite early, and some major stuff can get nailed down well in advance. Horizon, TLG, and Dreams are a good example this year of that since I told folks on here about three notable announcements from SCE at E3 since February, and nothing changed with those three this year. I believe I said seven total back then through 2015, and we're down four of those now that Gravity Rush 2 is done. The remaining three I mentioned back then are still due to be announced over the next two events as I understand it, so touch wood.
As for JRPG2, people shouldn't expect that announcement at a show like TGS anyway. I've mentioned this specifically several times in the past. JRPG2 won't make its debut at that kind of show since it's being made with a worldwide audience in mind, so naturally, the debut isn't going to happen at a conference usually packed with niche Japanese games.
Anyway, PGW will be pretty good, and PSX will be even better this year. We get those three announcements, and a few smaller ones, and I think everyone will be pretty ecstatic heading into 2016. There's not much to complain about really, aside from having no games to play for the holidays. And everything probably getting delayed again since that's the trend now. But hey, that's life. I didn't cry when Uncharted 4 was pushed back to 2016. I just kind of just:
Hellblade isn't coming out in April next year. Ninja Theory just rebooted the development, so don't expect that one earlier than 2017.
We won't see God of War 4 or the Sony JRPG until next year I think. I think we'll get Quantic Dreams' project, probably Gran Turismo 7 (even though I still think we won't get an announcement until next year) and maybe Bend's game yeah. Gran Turismo 7 alone would be huge.
No, that was just a bad choice of words by them. They switched to production stage of the development.
In the future collaborations section, I'd add Queasy Games (still one more game on their three game deal as far as I'm aware) and Novarama (probably working on a new Invizimals).
SSM studio made it explicitly clear that this years PSX will be hugely important for them. It was the studio head Shannon Studstill who said that when unveiling their new logo
I think that getting a CGI glimpse of GoW IV is inevitable at that time.
Edit: Not CGI but "in engine" actually.
No, they said it wouldn't come out in 2017. So unless there is a delay which is common for PD, you should still expect it next year. My guess being the late Q4 title for 2016. As for SMS, someone already pointed out what was said.I'm pretty sure all that Polyphony Digital have said is, that fans won't have the same patience as during Gran Turismo 5's development, and that the development should be quicker.
Didn' someone in here link to a tweet were Santa Monica says it'll be a while until we see their next project?
I just can't see Level 5's JRPG to be revealed during any of the two shows, but I hope to be surprised.

Doesn't count here cause it wasn't published by SonyWe'll never have an Outland sequel if none remembers that exist.
Haha oops! Rogue Galaxy, not Legacy. Everything you note is totally correct and I think would accurately complete the list.Getting back to this because I forgot about it yesterday. Funomena's developing Wattam.
And Rogue Legacy? lol. Level 5 also worked on Jeanne d'Arc for Sony.
Here's a few other first party games being developed externally not in the OP:
Giant Sparrow - What Remains of Edith Finch
Harmonix - Amplitude
Heavy Spectrum - Shadow of the Beast
On the Metal - BigFest
Valkyrie Entertainment - GUNS UP!
In the future collaborations section, I'd add Queasy Games (still one more game on their three game deal as far as I'm aware) and Novarama (probably working on a new Invizimals).
I was thinking the exact same thing when they announced the expansion pack for Sound Shapes. I even commented about it on the blog. LolI hope Sony gives the Patapoon franchise for Queasy Games, they are perfect for either sequels or a reboot.

I think I actually made a thread saying the same thing a while ago! Fantastic franchise and they're clearly the prefect devs to take it over if Pyramid isn't going to. I don't know why the series was mothballed, every release was pretty successful.I was thinking the exact same thing when they announced the expansion pack for Sound Shapes. I even commented about it on the blog. Lol
Imagine how it will look, it will be insane.
afaik he didn't mention that....but it sounds like a Studio Japan developed Game -->
- because Verendus said it is Sony's second attempt for an title like this (sce japan developed legend of dragoon)
- Shuhei Yoshida also mentioned that SCE Japan has an exciting project in development
I think all the SCE first-party contract studios (Arrowhead Games, Heavy Spectrum, Housemarque) excite me more than the standard SCE studios because they retain the element of surprise.
I can't wait for Shadow of the Beast and HellDivers 2 (most likely). I hope we get more games like that. The big AAA games take forever.
Do you have the article for that shu quote?
SSM are like ND in pushing Sony systems to the limit if not more.
Of course, faces will melt
I believe I said seven total back then through 2015, and we're down four of those now that Gravity Rush 2 is done.
Hmm
TLG
Horizon
Dreams
Gravity Daze 2
GOW4 at PSX2
GT7 at PGW
Last one is a toss up between Bend and Sucker. The latter already put out 2 titles on PS4, so Bend's turn is up (They've been MIA for a long time now).
Next year announcements will probably start with SP's project, Demon's Resmaster and Bloodborne 2 .
Kinda Funny E3 interview
Wouldn't that be Quantic Dreams though? With them being based in France and PGW being in France and all that.
People keep mentioning a Demon's remaster. Do we have any hints or deets implying it's in the cards?
I want to believe ;-;
Come on Verendus, this shouldn't be hard to answer. Just say inFamous or Not inFamous.Since you know some things, can you tell me about Sucker Punch? One of my favourite studio and i dont really know if they are keeping Infamous or not...
Come on Verendus, this shouldn't be hard to answer. Just say inFamous or Not inFamous.
Spot on. The 7 was in reference to internal games, so external partners don't count even if they're first party games. The discussion back then stemmed from people feeling Sony's own studios weren't showing much, and falling behind or whatever, which was the reason why. It's like how people don't really consider Bloodborne or The Order 1886 when they get disappointed about how Sony's own studios aren't showing their games. They're games made by From or RAD. It's a bit of a weird distinction to be frank, but that was the sticking point.I don't think QD counts as a SCE developer and their game isn't one of the 7 titles Verendus is referring to. I am sure they will be in Paris next month.
Bloodborne is the extent of what I call a SCE game developed by a second party because they are produced by Japan Studios.
This is how it'd go if I just said that:Come on Verendus, this shouldn't be hard to answer. Just say inFamous or Not inFamous.

Normally I would agree with you, but part of me thinks it's a "too little too late" and "if they wanted to do it, they would've done it by now" situation. We're already five installments deep in the series.Because it makes too much sense. I think a big majority of people who bought BB would buy a remastered version of Demon's Souls. It's free money for Sony and From.

The internet is the only place where I've found folks being nitpicky over that kind of stuff though. With a lot of externally developed games that are first party, since they're Sony owned IP, there's still support provided in various ways. It's kind of weird to exclude those titles when talking about the efficiency of WWS since those partnerships are also part of their jobs. If you only look at games made by their own teams, it may look like it's been sparse, but when you consider the overall game volume coming from them, it's been pretty good already. It doesn't matter though, I'm fluid like that. I'll go with the flow. And I can kind of understand the sentiment.
So 3 games will be internally developed, That's more interesting.
So even if QD or Level-5 games are revealed they aren't in that list, Now I am hoping PGW and PSX both will have 2 SCE games.
Verendus is SCE still thinking of collaborating with new external developers on AAA games after The Order 1886?
I feel that Order has potential... Order 1887 please.
Well, there'll be two further From collaborations, and that'll make three in total from them. So just by those alone, the answer is yes. Beyond them, the answer is still yes because there are others. There are always going to be collaborations for bigger titles. It depends on the working relationship, and synergy. Sometimes things work out, sometimes they don't. That's just normal. So 3 games will be internally developed, That's more interesting.

Too many open world games, even from SCE.Just make it open world breh
Just in case you feel I'm ignoring you because I'm a prat. I'd rather wait for the stuff I've said in the past to make an appearance before I start talking about new games. There's still a good dozen reveals from 2013/2014 I've mentioned that have yet to show. I don't want to keep throwing more on the pile. When those are out of the way then I, too, will begin to move on.
To the PS5.
More linear and sandbox games, with better level design. Moar!
