Why are strippers at the U.N. bad when they're great at strip clubs???
The anime for Monster Strike looks really good.

It mentions Youtube Animation, so no traditional broadcasting right?

Monster Hunter Explore just launched on iOS: https://www.appannie.com/apps/ios/app/monsutahanta-ekusupuroa/

At least given the app icon, publisher, and "Monsutahanta Ekusupuroa" I'm going to assume this is it, but it's still data processing at the moment.

So far on Android it's had a modest, but non-disastrous performance:

Rockstar is not just "the studio/label" though, they have a lot of say in contractual stuff and marketing (they are the one validating marketing for their titles, not only the publisher).

Rockstar is wholy owned by Take Two, so none of that really matters. :p

I see XFLAG as a means of differentiating business focus. It makes sense for Mixi to establish a specific company they own to represent their gaming/entertainment interest, since the main company is still very much associated with the social media business.

To help put Mixi in perspective, imagine if MySpace had the #1 top grossing mobile game in the West.

Given what the MySpace brand is, it wouldn't be unusual if they opened a subsidiary with a different branding for promoting the game since it's probably be better if it wasn't totally associated with the baggage of a not so popular anymore social media service.

The Pokemon Company is more like Hulu in that it's a joint venture between multiple companies where none of them has a controlling ownership. It's very different than most video game subsidaries (which are overwhelmingly wholly or majority owned by the publisher).

I'll say that in a way, XFLAG can be seen as something like Amazon Game Studios... if Amazon Games Studios was remotely successful... lol.

How about Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment? Though I guess video games are still kind of in the same entertainment wheelhouse.

I'd use Microsoft or Sony as examples, but being a console vendor kind of messes with that.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!

Thanks for the screen, I didn't check MH Explore that much in the past few weeks after the launch. Yeah, it seems like it's having a mediocre-to-honest performance, depending on days. Did it have special events already?

A game that I suppose is selling very, very, very slowly is Dragon Quest VII on mobile. Even considering the usual 1:2 ratio between Android and iOS, on Google Play it has yet to cross 10,000 downloads, and it has been almost two weeks since its launch.

Sony just uploaded a video highlighting the PS4 lineup for the rest of the year (or Autumn, whatever)

If it wasn't the known, the Black Ops III PS4 is Japan bound too.

Judging by the video Star Wars seems to be their big holiday title.

Didn't know Attack on Titan was 2015.

Lineup isn't great, but it's not terrible either. January should be good.

Koei doesn't know yet if they will be on time to release it this holiday season. I guess we'll see sometime in October if they can or can't, and delay it for early next year.

I wonder how much revenues mobile DQ ports are generating vs. traditional releases. I guess they're quite cheap to develop and produce, though.

According to the PR, pre-orders for Monster Strike will open on Friday (October 2nd).

Yukinori Kitajima working on the scenario of the anime/game too, if I read that correctly.

At Famitsu sell through ratio is high so I suppose some went digital.

Around 57k on Famitsu, I remember reading that it was sold and everyone was skeptical considering the Comgnet and Tsutaya ranking.
It's higher than these two led us to think, but even with digital into account it shouldn't be at 100k sold yet.

But Famitsu doesn't track digital sales... unless there's also DL cards like on Nintendo consoles?

Anyway, if Famitsu has a different sellthrough, that explains the discrepancy between the PR and MC sales.

No, I'm just assuming physical shipment is far less than 100K.
It's more like retailers hesitated to buy copies so whoever couldn't find physical copies had no choice but go digital (again just tails from my ass).
Happens quite often for niche titles really, regardless of the platform.

"100k sold in five days"

those are not five days, most games were released on friday iirc so just 3 days
