I don't disagree with that being the main reason for it, but I think that they know which ones should be the top of the list without even asking fans. PS1/PS2 classics, change PSN name, folders, and notifications for friends coming online would all be at the top.

The rumours suggest that they might be adding trophies this time round, suggesting that they'll start the catalogue over. Of course, it could be the case where they just turn around and dump the existing PS Classics catalogue and only add trophies to new games (or allow developers to update games in their own time), so who knows.

I really enjoyed Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls but I would like to see what they're capable of in other genres in this era. Like trying to make a game more like Nomad Soul.
I'm just curious to see what Quantic Dream could do.
Well, Alienation is Housemarque's next game and we don't even have a release date for that yet (should be coming this week), then after that it's Housemarque x Eugene Jarvis.

Maybe they could do it well, but you gotta realize they have been focussing on this genre for about 15 years now. Totally changing everything up would require a radically different approach to how they make games. Most likely they would need to massively overhaul their engine, pipeline and internal workflow. It would be a very challenging task for such a specialised studio, which optimized every step of the production for the type of game they make. I dont really see it happening in the foreseeable future, even if they are talented enough to make it happen. They found their nieche and seem happy there.
Thats not to say a more open ended world ala Omikron cant happen. I definitely could see something like that coming out from them still, just without traditional combat.

So do you think Sony are involved with the Housemarque x Jarvis game? There hasn't really been any indication of that, and they've handled the reveal of them doing a game with Jarvis and seemingly this current unveiling of the documentary etc. by themselves. Also Alienation has yet to be released so I'm not sure Sony would reveal a new game from them yet.
On the other hand Sony has strong ties to Housemarque and them choosing PGW to do this seems quite convenient

KARA was magical, and would truly be a shame if something was not done in regards to making it a tangible product. That website was registered before the PS4 was released and the linked thread is relevant because of what the Singularity represents in term of the KARA video.

More importantly, David Cage will have help with writting the game this time around. Cage can be very good, as seen in the Kara trailer which was amazing, but with a little bit of help he can be much better and consistent.

Don't know for sure, but Sony and Housemarque are clearly tight -- ps3 exclusives, vita launch title, PS4 launch title and Day 1 PS+ entry... they made their name on Sony and I'm sure there is loyalty there to some degree. I doubt that'll change, but who knows.
