What stands in ps4's way to sell in 2019-2020?
No doubt it has the potential to have a long tail life but there is some monster GPU tech on the way. Stuff like HBM2. They will want to upgrade hardware by then
What stands in ps4's way to sell in 2019-2020?
That's a given since PS4 launch.
Why? Shinier polygons?
This quote makes no sense at all, they make money on games and therefore userbase size.
They'd have stuck with PS3 if Microsoft never came along for the next gen.
Lol I don't think he didn't understand what he was saying, just that it's stupid to think that if the ps4 had those few, insignificant in the grand scheme of things features it would have sold an extra 15 million console, which coincidentally is around how many Xbo have been sold so maybe that's the sole reason every Xbo owner bought their consoleTough guy.
The poster is missing a few features from the XB1 on the PS4, alongside the controller. Is that really enough to confuse you?
edit:
Streaming to a PC, EA Access and backwards compability would all be some nice additions to the PS4, I think. Don't you agree?
PS4 is successful because it is giving people what the X1 isn't, so why would a PS4 more like an X1 sell better?
Also streaming console games to PC is the most useless idea I have heard of in ages.
Also EA access is a paid service, not a feature.

Fair enough, although sometimes being blunt about a terribly formed opinion can sometimes help point out how silly that point actually is but I get your reasoningYou're probably right. I don't see the need to act like a douchebag about it though (talking about that Rex-guy, not you).
don't throw at me, but ain't it funny that this console sells so good even it has by far not all(!) the good features? It has some cool and most of all power, power power. But:
think of a PS4 with snapping Apps, backwards compatibility, the xbox one controller, voice control, windows 10 streaming and ea access - that would be cool. And it would mean 45 millionen sold.
But (in my eyes) unfortunately most of the cool things/features I like are things are on the other side. (Thats why their 14-15 million is good too).
PS4 numbers are fantastic!
PS4 will be made cheaper than PS3 eventually due to its parts. The PS3 is still like $250, they can't get it much cheaper without making a profit. A $129 PS4 slim in 2020 is possible.
it probably has already.
U is at 10m and xb1 is at say even if ,say a miraculous 15m sales. ps4 has prolly already sold more than 25 m
My god....Toukiden 2, Nioh, Star Ocean 5, Digimon, Persona 5, Uncharted 4, Ratchet and Clank, Street Fighter 5, Nier Automata, Horizon, Tales of Berseria, Gravity Rush 2, among many others in 2016
I can only imagine what PS4 would be looking like if Sony weren't destroying the competition in sales!
I kinda would like to see them get beat and turn desperate if this is what we're getting now

PS4 is more powerful, has a larger variety of games and is/was cheaper at launch. And has a better history with gamers in most of the world. It's no wonder they are winning by a huge margin. But, that doesn't mean it's perfect and that there isn't room for improvement. EA Access would definitely be a nice addition.
Streaming games to a PC is a great idea. Not all of us have the luxury to have a monopoly on the living room TV you know.
You're probably right. I don't see the need to act like a douchebag about it though (talking about that Rex-guy, not you).
My mate bought his kids a PS3 because he thought it only released a coupla yrs ago when i told him 2007 he was dumbfoundedNo doubt it has the potential to have a long tail life but there is some monster GPU tech on the way. Stuff like HBM2. They will want to upgrade hardware by then
So 2:1 is easily possible until 31st december.
1) The guy was being salty. not hopeful of new features. lets stop pretending otherwise. his last line makes it more than obvious what his intention was.nobody said the ps4 is perfect that forced him to refute the idea.
2)most new monitors have hdmi inputs. hope you're aware of that. and if a person is THAT desperate or on a laptop, there are workarounds for streaming games on a pc,not to mention , i don't understand how its any better than remote play that the ps4 has.if you dont have access to a screen , buy one. its the most obviously reasonable way if you wanna play games and not get frequently interrupted.because now you're just wasting bandwidth for a much poorer than native experience.
You're probably right. I don't see the need to act like a douchebag about it though (talking about that Rex-guy, not you).
That was last quarter. This quarter the Xbox One is at the very very least 15 million. We just don't know the exact number.

HAH! Oh I'm sorry was I supposed to invest time actually responding to that farce of a post? Not only was the syntax and grammar atrocious it made absolutely no sense whatsoever.
Oh and contrary to what you believe some of us have 0 interest in EA access given the repercussions the service could have in the industry and the desire to give EA as little money as possible.
But, by all means, please do continue to inform me how wrong I am for seeing his little jovial diatribe for what it really was and feeling dumber for having read it.
I think they will, great numbersGod damn, so they may actually hit 35 million by the end of the year.... I can see the PS4 easily doing 1.5 million In the US for Nov-Dec
You could've just ignored it, no? Yes, you have 0 interest in EA Access, which means noone on the PS4 have interest in EA Access.
At least, that was the logic you used with BF Hardline, and we all know how that turned out.
I assume you're aware how little Hardline sold in comparison to other battlefield games. Most would consider it a flop for the series. But you already knew that. If you have an issue with me PM me or a mod. Stop derailing this thread with a bunch of pointless features posts.

People vote with their wallets. Maybe they want the PS4 controller, streaming, communities, spotify, PsNow and PSplus ?
I'm sure they're all reflecting deeply on the abject failure of not being the increasingly distant second of this gen. Just imagine how much better they would be if they were the losers.... Why as the perennial second place team they'd shine as brightly as Sega, the bedrock, the ultimate form aspired to by all console makers.
This is some horrendous logic. The reason why Sony and other Japanese publishers are investing so much is because the PS4 is doing so well, not in spite of it. The idea Sony are sitting back and counting their money is console wars nonsense, we'd see less investment from them if the PS4 weren't doing so well, not more.
!
Unlikely. Technological barrier in CMOS is very close thus process shrinking is slow and costly. So price will drop but not as fast/low as it was in PS2 days.PS4 will be made cheaper than PS3 eventually due to its parts. The PS3 is still like $250, they can't get it much cheaper without making a profit. A $129 PS4 slim in 2020 is possible.
I think XB1 is More Close with ~15.5m shipped. Also, Wii U is ar +10.7m.
So, a combined of +26m? Still under PS4 which is at 29.3 million...
So Nintendo is more profitable than Sony?Unless I'm reading this wrong
Sony Games Division: (2015)
Sales: $649 million
Operating Income: $43 million
Nintendo: (2015)
Sales: $946 million
Operating Income: $65 million

MS Games Division: ?
Okay okay, i get it guys. Jesus...people always talk about 'desperate nintendo is best nintendo', even a slight musing isn't allowed?
Any company can buy exclusive games, but there isn't a trend of PS4 receive 3rd party exclusives outside of japanese and indie games.
Not as easy as it looks, sony is the nike brand of gaming consoles, they have in 3 gens sold 335 million gaming consoles, thats way more then its competition combined in 3 gens, even with the horrible start of the ps3, cause of the terrible pricing for a console, with inferior hardware to the 360 early on cause of bad ports, they still recovered.
I think possibly, at the end of this generation, they will have sold more consoles than Microsoft and Nintendo combined in all generations. They're only 30 million behind.
