Any Korea/Australia/NZ VPN early unlock this time?

Steam has it listed as releasing on the 27th in Australia, so not via that at least. I'm hoping the Humble Bundle delivers.

Not that any negative impressions would deter me at all from enjoying The Witness, it's nice to see that so far it's been nothing but praise. Looking forward to seeing some reviews and possibly Giant Bomb's quick look, although I might have to bail out to avoid spoiling myself too much.

That thing is gonna be such a trainwreck. I like those guys, but they are the absolute worst at paying attention to what the hell they're doing and what's going on. Don't think I could take it.

I still remember their Xenoblade X quick look. The guy that was playing the game was genuinely interested and trying to talk about the game, but the other couldn't stop making silly jokes and ruined everything.

I know you guys have been hearing this a lot in this thread, so it sounds very annoying, but I totally understand the "is it all line puzzles?" argument. I, myself, wasn't interested in the game until a few days ago because, yes, it looked like an overproduced "connect the dots" puzzle game. If you're not following the game closely, that's exactly what it looks like. I only realized this could be something special when I came to this thread a few days ago and some of you guys explained to me why you're so excited about it (and you've convinced me, now I'm very excited and I'll buy the game in a few hours).
Yep. It's not the public's responsibility to market products to themselves. I'm certainly not worried about the depth/variety of the game, but for people who only see a trailer it's a pretty fair question.

You will not speak of the great Vinny Caravella in such a way! He is my favorite person in the video game media by far.

I wonder if some of that mystique is part of the allure of this game.

But the two trailers clearly show other uses for the panels and how you use them to activate machines and open doors and what not

Well, I think he's a funny guy, but he kept hammering the same "talking crab" joke for half of the presentation. It was fun at first, but it got old fast and he wouldn't shut up :(

Any idea what the release time may be for PSN?
I'm hoping for midnight UK time, but I'm guessing that's very unlikely... :(

Doubt that, the Steam release in the UK is currently set for 6pm tomorrow :(. Could have sworn it was midnight at one point.

PSN may actually be out sooner, they generally update the store in the afternoon.

Even if you get your key before the game unlocks, you'll still have to wait unless Valve accidentally generated keys for the beta testing/dev sub (they have a release state override).

Edit: Unless you're talking about the DRM-free version, which I wasn't aware of when I made this post, in which case never mind, haha.

Blow said on twitter that he thinks it'll be up at 12:01 PST

You never know with the way PSN is though. Could end up being tomorrow afternoon when the store updates since there's no preload/preorder.

Nice. I'll be there if that's the case. I seem to remember both Everybody's Gone To The Rapture and The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter both launched at midnight here in the UK. Hoping this follows suit and I can have a blast before bed.

Any idea on download size on PS4? How large is it on PC?

4GB is the HDD space requirement, so probably somewhere north of 3.5GB.

Thanks mate.

Wierd the euro price of witness has jumped 1e in humblebundle 22th. Now its 1e more than steam. Edit: Just noticed humble is DRM-Free OR steam, not both like usual. Ah well DRM-free it is then.

1 more day! And (I think) less than 2 hours until reviews start showing up!

I want to read the reviews but I know I shouldn't.

I'm thinking of checking all the scores and reading the final paragraph, there shouldn't be any spoilers in that last part of the text right?!

Yeah, I am also wary of reading reviews. I already own the game, I know I am going to love it. I guess I just want some kind of fix before tomorrow.

I watched that quick look twice because of the jokes. After the second viewing I bought the game.

I'm hoping The Witness quick look is a train wreck.

I would kinda prefer a train wreck to be honest. I don't want to see a ton of puzzles just blown through. I want discussion about how to go about them, and mainly just seeing some time spent in the world. Maybe just a TINY bit of exploration beyond what we've seen in gameplay demos so far. If they try to unlock any major door like that vault near the beginning, I'll have to jump ship and close the video. I'm sure Brad will be sensitive to avoid spoiling much though.

Really excited for this game and that has been a while. I'm not watching any trailers, checking any reviews though. I want to go in clean :)

Good to know it, I thought most people would hate the game after that ^_^

Anyway, I know I'm the odd one when it comes to Giant Bomb. Most people love those guys, but I mostly find them really annoying.

I have tried to listen to the Bombcast a few times and can't get into it, they come across as overly negative smart-arses.

I'll guess an 87 Metacritic because I'm guessing there's going to be too much redundancy in the puzzles and some will be too obscure/hard for any casual player to beat it 100%.

I'm hoping not though and that it'll get a 92+
