That's my problem exactly. Was kicking ass up to Friday night and got around 1250 LP. Even felt confident enough to go to a local tourney where I got bodied after my first win. It's all been down hill from there, think I've gotten 1 ranked win out of 12 or so matches and dropped down to the 800s. This game can be infuriating at times but I'm determined to stick with it.

Some of my Chun Li play from 4 is carrying over into this effectively, I like that she seems better at anti air in this. Still miss her "half circle kick" special dearly, but at least her diagonal MP is a substitute of sorts.

Just wish the loading times in this weren't so long...reminds me of the footage I've seen of Alpha 2 on the SNES :p

LP mixer without mashing is -2 on block. It is ridiculous. Use it a lot.

LP Mixer while dashing forward is like -5 which isn't bad.

Abuse his neutral jump game and pressure as F. MP is pretty safe on block and LP/LKs. Standing LK comes out fastest.

Learn a strong punish combo. I have one for his neutral jump game. Neutral jump HK (or HP), cr. HP, st. MP, HK Eagle Spike (or MK/LK). It does like 35% health.

I guess I'm stuck to playing in battle lounges forever with zero LP. Matchmaking just doesn't work for me. How annoying.

And why can't this thing have dedicated servers? Goddamn Rocket League has dedicated servers all around the world..

Dedicated servers would introduce additional input delay and lag for a fighting game compared to P2P.

Me neither. The funny thing is that I am winning most of my Casual matches, but I haven't won a single Ranked match yet. But then again I am one of the worst Street Fighter -players ever ( this time I am going to try and try until I am no longer bottom-tier ).

Even battle lounges aren't working. This game is broken, it just doesn't work. I'm thinking about calling sony to get a refund.

yeah thats what alex valle keeps doing, lp mixer to bait and then EX mixer... never works with me lol. the combo I have more or less down is j.HK (or crossup j.MK), s.MP, c.MK, LP Spike. Just getting outplayed, panicking, etc. The usual :)

What do you mean on a hard knockdown? Is it when I have knocked down my opponent to the ground, I'll then backdash away and do the moonsault to hit him?

I'm waiting on new parts for my stick so I have just been watching some gameplay. Still trying to figure out a plan on how I'm going to improve. I've never really knew how to best approach fighting games with the aim to get better.

No, a hard knockdown is a knockdown that does not allow for any form of quick rise. For Nash (and much of the roster) the only hard knockdown you can get is on a Crush Counter sweep.

Play a lot and don't try too hard. There is no point in trying to improve when you end up getting angry at the game eventually dropping it because it annoys you more than it is actually fun.

If you can, you should get a refund. I can't myself unfortunately. Right now, my only way of playing is the lounges, which are borked right now. I get nothing but rooms with 1bar connections from Japan and China.

Why, man. I'm in South America!

matchmaking back to not finding anyone for over 15mins for no apparent reason, so taking a break. Really hoping (foolishly) that the maintenence will fix things

I highly recommend you and other newcomers buy the prima strategy guide, the digital copy is on sale for 50% off comes to $4-7 bucks which will give you lots of super useful info like this. It also has detailed glossary so you can learn all the street fighter language.

I'm a semi-veteran to fighting games and I still bought it. Learned a ton of stuff and small tips you won't find anywhere else right now. It saved me time searching stuff. They will continue to update it for the full SFV season 1 too (including new DLC chars).

It's the same for me matchmaking just not working .
Online is just broken for me , thanks god i have friends to play with or i would be even more piss at capcom .

Same tip for you: turn on manual accept for matchmaking, it lets you see the connection before you accept..

You, too. The game will give you 1 bar connections no matter what filter you set.

finally made bronze league with 515 LP. If I lose and go below 500, I am downgraded again to rookie?

What is the next ranking and how many LP I need?

I guess I will never past bronze

I set my connection settings to 4-5 this morning and had a slideshow ranked match. Didn't even bother looking for another opponent after that one. Let's just wait and see how the servers will preform after the maintenance.

I know that too well. I don't even use fight requests when playing Survival with Karin anymore, only when using a different character.

Since I can't beat Hard with Karin, I think I'll just do Easy and Normal with everyone else for the Fight Money. Gotta pay for the Karin colors.

I give up. Matchmaking takes like 20 mins per match, Battle lounges stop working after 1 set. It's been almost a week now and this mess is still on-going.

I'm coming back in March when hopefully lounges/matchmaking will actually work.

Was planning to quickly go up a couple hundred points but I barely managed to finish where I started.

I rely to much on okie doke shit with Mika because it completely blows up people who don't know what they're doing. I think I might have to learn how to play this game lol
