Can't say i'm not surprised. These futuristic shooters are here to stay unfortunately. Call of Duty has been on a downwards trajectory for a while now. Black Ops 3 is absolute garbage so hopes for this years edition is at rock bottom.

We had CoD and MoH games mostly set in WW2 period. These days we have much more shooters set in future or Sci-fi (Titanfall, CoD, BF, Battlefront, Overwatch, LawBreakers...).

really interesting, i always thought CoD kicked Halo's ass because it was modern and 'realistic', seems weird to me that preference changed so much that they can go full future now.

I'm fine with full future, but just don't have me fight a bunch of aliens. I don't want that in COD. Let Halo and Destiny do that.
With a sizeable budget and team as the COD games get....now that you mention it....I'll be down for that.

I guess Treyarch's CoD is the next chance we have for a non-futuristic CoD. It's hard to imagine Sledgehammer moving away from AW since it was successful. BO3 ended in a way that would allow them to go wherever they wanted. So if they could go to a different setting if they wanted to.
I just really want to see a AAA non-modern or futuristic military shooter this gen. I don't care if it's CoD or BF. One of them needs to do it.

Well I guess but either way I'm getting killed far less with snipers in BOIII and if I do, it's a hard scope. Quick scopers are pretty much no more for all the games I've played in BOIII (in my experience ofc), but I know others are saying the same thing. It's much more balanced than it was in Black Ops 2 which was just aim assist galore with people using the snipers are shoguns and close range weapons, out gunning SMG's before you even get a chance to shoot. It's been the most balanced IMO since sniping in Black Ops I.

There's no quickscoping? What is this then?
I mean, they did a huge dent to it by not having aim assist while you aim with a sniper, that was a big part as to why aiming like that was bullshit.
Of course, you can still do it, but it's harder than it previously was.
Was difficult at first, but you can still quickscope fairly consistently. Just makes dragscoping a lot tougher so you have to slightly reduce your horizontal sensitivity. I find it a lot easier than Black Ops 1 pre patch.

Praise to all that is holy that it's not likely going to be a WWI/II shooter. I'm old... i was playing all the WWII shooters for years back during the beginning of the previous generation and i'm good... dont need to play another... ever.

Not just kids, I'm 35 and want them to keep it as futuristic as possible (for movements sake).
I would love to see a SP focussed CoD set in WW2 for sure, but MP is the focus it seems, and WW2 is a bit hard to move to in terms of speed/jumping etc. Personally, a Vietnam CoD would be perfect..... story heavy, modern enough for a bit of speed.
