Daigasso! Band Brothers P |Import Discussion| Project Iwatoid P

A few new things going on. Seems like 5 more DX songs are available for free download this week. Plus, not too long ago, a Link outfit (with a Zelda Title Theme Medley) and a Tetra Outfit (with Princess Zelda Medley) were released on Radio Shopping for 5 tomatoes each.

Seems like there's been some new songs put up lately that I need to catch up on, so I'd be down to play sometime soon too.

seems like there is a new Version of Daigasso on the eshop that comes with 5 splatoon songs for 200yen.
any idea if we can get those 5 songs for 200 yen somewhere?

Ugh, I need to keep track of this thread.

I recently bought an actual Japanese 3DS, so (unlike with region free hacks) I have actual eShop access. And I could use some free songs since I bought the game used...

So, uh, I'm confused, if you buy Debut, can you use the Splatoon songs in the full game? Or are they Debut exclusive for some reason? This just seems like a super weird way to distribute songs lol

I think the free DX songs promo might've already ended, sorry :/ The Nintendo promo songs (Splatoon, Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing) that are in the radio shop might still be free?

It sounds silly, but at this point the best way to buy more songs is get another copy of the game with Download Code intact. It's cheaper than buying Tomatoes from in-game. Or you could always just play online MP and mooch off of the songs other people purchased, lol

I wish they offer those additional Splatoon songs for purchase. I have tomatoes to burn!

And get this: I don't play that game but I like the music in it! lol

The full game and Debut share save data so you can just buy Debut and download the free songs and they're playable in the full version. Plus you also get, like, a code for a free tomato I think?? But for 200 yen it's honestly not a bad idea to just get it for all the free stuff that transfers to the full version. Only thing is that Debut takes up a lot of SD card space, but you can always delete if after you're done.

debute... isn't that the same as the free version we shared a year ago?

guess I got to delete that, and buy it for 200 yen.
seems like a good deal to me :)

sry, something came up and I wasn't really able to play last time...
but today would be fine by me! (or any other day from now on)

Oh, oops, ended up missing your post, sorry! I'm down to get a game going soon.

Also, Debut is offering a pack of 5 Zelda songs for, like... 200 yen I think? So there's that.

so much to catch up to ._.
Although I'm kinda busy till next week Tuesday, I might be able to play this week. Maybe we could get a game going?

well.. I'm already in holiday mode, therefore whenever is fine by me. (well except the 24th and 25th obviously)

edit: I think I've lost my last 100 tomato code... T_T

edit2: I'll be awake for another 3 hours... in case somebody wants to play

Oh geez. My last 10 tomatoes is going to expire at the end of this month so I was looking to buy more copies of the physical game. Turns out I already bought two copies over the summer. lol

And what a deal for tomatoes! Right now on Amazon.com you can buy a copy for about $12 shipped that includes 100 tomatoes vs. about $25 for 70 tomatoes via in-game eShop.

yeah sure, I'll just wait at the usual place

I just got this game used so I had to buy tomatos on the eshop. Looking at this thread, it sounds like tomatos expire -- is that just for the tomatos from the 100 tomato code or do all tomatos eventually expire?

Also, I'm considering just buying another new copy since it's cheaper than the eshop store. I guess that's what most people here are doing?

Yeah, all tomatoes expire. You can see when the ones you own will if you hit the tomato icon from the main menu.

It's more economical to just get another new copy of the game for the 100 tomato code than buying them on the eShop, and people here have, but I personally haven't done it just because I've never really needed as many as 100 more tomatoes (and also I'd feel bad owning more than one physical copy lol)

Ahh I see the date. Looks like 4 months. Thanks!

Btw, if I download the Debut version of the game, does it share songs with the normal cart version?

yes, thats how I iusually do it. although a few options will be locked (like recording? or something like that), so you might want to hold on to your card, just in case.

Anyone want to sell their 100 Tomato code? I have one on order from Amazon but gotta wait for it to come in from Japan T_T

Ok, so I recently finished working on my version of MEGALOVANIA from Undertale. I'm not the best at it, so this is where I'll stop fiddling with it and call it "finished". I'd really like a version of Death by Glamour, but that song seems probably a bit too much for my skills to tackle.

I do, but not on my main personal Japanese 3DS where I own all my songs. Fortunately user made ones can be sent over for recording just fine though. :p

Ok, so I got back to the game a bit now. There is a lot of new stuff. I downloaded the debut version and the six packs of songs from there. There are also outfits and new voices. This will cost a lot of tomatoes....

In the normal play mode you now amass fans when you get a clear score on instruments. How many have you people got so far? It seems like you need hundreds of songs to max that one out. I'm at 1 500 000 fans right now and I'm shooting for 2 500 000 fans right now.

And yeah, all the video challenges where you unlock medals as well. This went from a casual no real reason to play to a lot of things to do. :D

Too bad I can't read Japanese, they still have daily updates, radio shows and events going on all the time it seems.

just curious... when was the last time you played? a lot of that stuff you listed doesn't sound all that new to me...
but maybe I missed something? haven't played in a while sadly... (which I'd like to change soon btw)

It's been about a year since the last major update (as in adding new features), but they're still keeping up with official support, yeah. Not bad for 2 and a half years out of release.

I'm down for playing sometime in the near future if anyone's up for it.

I've been having fun with the game using NTR3.4 Preview 2 (homebrew app) that allow me to capture video wirelessly.

Whoa, this is super nifty. I'd totally love to have that sort of functionality, but I'm still a bit paranoid when it comes to 3DS homebrew lol

I may be missing something here? what exactly is NTR? what does it do? It captures video wirelessly? how? without any capturing device you mean?
edit: is the "tour mode" part of the homebrew app? or is that official? Oo

also playing with 2 others and not saying a word?

son I am disapoint

Basically no hardware mod. Its all software. Video feed are transfer via your home wireless network. Of course this mean you need to have a way to run homebrew on your N3DS. Here's the topic about it at GBATemp.net. Or directly from the github page.

The video was recorded at a random day/time (when I was free) and playing with random people. I can't "chat" with them if that what you mean. :p

damn... seems like I've finally found a reason to get some homebrew running on my 3ds! this seems to good to be true.
but to be honest, I haven't been following the 3ds homebrew scene at all... so maybe I should consult a few threats and tuts first...
edit: also my n3ds is up to date... nothing I can do but wait

I'm not exactly sure yet if I can make it or not, but I think today would be a good opportunity to play. So I wanted to let you know, just in case.

well I'm here but I'm probably the only one...

There's actually a whole additional bunch of free songs up on the radio shop in Debut now. If you add up all the free songs you can get with Debut that's, like, a not-to-shabby 15 or so tracks I think?

Anyways, idk if anyone's around, but I'd be down for a game now. edit: lol nvm another time

are those ~15 songs exclusive to debut? Or rather do I need the "new" version of debut? or does the old one suffice?

Funny this thread popped up, because about an hour ago I was frantically searching YouTube for either version of the song Starlight (which I probably like more than anyone else, lol) and being very unsuccessful.

I guess it's the perfect time to once again boot up the game again and see what DLC I can obtain for free, such as the Splatoon one. Though I'll need to learn how to stumble through the menus...

man we should probably try to figure out some better way to coordinate games at some point lol

I think all versions of Debut should be functionally identical? Check the Radio Shop, it should have a pack of free songs at the top and then another folder with a bunch of free songs inside of it. But, I mean, it's more like 8 to 10 or so free songs since I was also counting the ones included by default.

You'll probably wanna try searching for "ヒャダイン starlight". Weird that it's so hard to find a Hyadain song, but I guess that's what happens when the only form it exists in is a MIDI in a 3DS game, lol.

The majority of free stuff should be in the Radio Shop (bottom right icon), though some of it is exclusively found in the free Debut version of the game (for some reason). Only thing to worry about is accidentally purchasing content that costs tomatoes, lol.

Is there any reason for me to play the cartridge version if I own Debut? I mean, the save data is shared so if it's easier for me to just play debut I think I'll just do that.

Song composition, vocal recording if you don't pay 15 tomatoes (which you shouldn't if you own the full game), that's all.

Here, listen it from here: https://youtu.be/ywcub9FAyl4 This is the staff credits version that I ripped.

And yes we should set up some time to have a jam session. While it's good that Nintendo made the debut version free and now flooded with people playing the game online, you mostly get people selecting the free songs over and over. I'm a bit tired of playing them every time. lol

EDIT: Welp looks like that website is blacklisted.
EDIT 2: It's now on YouTube!

yes we definitely should... but I can't think of anything

As it turns out I already downloaded at least 5 of those songs from the shop via the 楽曲引換券 you get by entering
I also finally downloaded the other ones from the radio shop, but I'm sure that these were less than 10 (+5)... either I overlooked it, or maybe I missed the free-to-download phase?
Still, I wonder why this game needs to have two separate shops...

Wow, thanks for this! I had no idea how to get to the credits again, so I couldn't record it myself.

I actually tried that, along with searching for Starlight in katakana as well, but it's moot now thanks to Lookie401.

Thanks for the tips! I haven't been playing the game much because of my complete lack of Japanese skills and the fact that I bought the game used and therefore can't use the code that came in the package. It would be very nice to get some free songs.
