In previous threads people have mentioned that shinobi said on a podcast that the PS4K would be announced at PGW. So you probably shouldn't get your hopes up for that or expect it at E3.

I dont expect it. The rumours havent made any real harms to the sales of the PS4. Only an official confirmation will.

Only way for NEO to be at E3 is if Sony releases in July or something. They will announce when its close to launch

Sony should just stop making AAA fps this gen and just let the third parties fill that space.
Considering FPS is my least favorite category of games by far, I would like this.

It does make sense to let the third party fill the space though. There is a ton of major competition in that area.

EA Access coming to PS4 with Battlefront beeing added to the vault

Hmmmm, do Activision have enough games for a game vault?

I don't see these subscription game vaults really being in platform holders best interest, especially the market leader.

Would love EA access on the PS4 though.

Agreed!

Sony should devote those development resources to a new IP they can cultivate for the future or use them to revive an old IP. Neither may move as many copies as a Killzone game, but it would be a good investment for the PlayStation ecosystem.

I took the 14th off for this...
Yes I'm a sad person, but E3 is my Christmas.

You aren't sad. I also took the 14th off. It's going to be a blast to wake up early and check out all the new releases. I really hope they announce the Neo, will phone all the local shops to see if they've heard the news and are taking pre orders. If it happens I will celebrate by getting hamburgers for lunch and pizza for dinner.

Would've been awesome if Sony also had their presser 2h earlier like Ubisoft is doing this year. Now there is a gap of 8h (6h after the Ubi presser) instead of the usual 5(3) hours.

Sony has invested too much money in FPS to literally drop out. As long as they have an audience that's growing they will continue to try and salvage it. Until they all literally flop.

Granted the last Killzone likelye would have flopped if it wasn't bundled but it was, and it didn't so...

Or at least make something fresh. Killzone is the antithesis of that. Bring back Resistance with a new spin on it. Create new IP that defies or subverts FPS conventions. The market is already full of competent multi-platform FPS, though.

On the plus, it should start on time since people won't have to rush to get from Ubisoft to Sony like usual.

pushimg it forward would allow me to get to bed at a resonable time, instead of staying up all night or watching the next day and avoiding spoilers!

I didn't say that definitively, it's just what I'd heard but wasn't fully confident in. It could very well show up at E3. In fact I'm leaning towards it being there now.

Woohoo, I have the following day booked off work so my now customary 3am drinks with the Sony press conference can commence (in UK)! So happy. Going in expecting very little, I mean I got my dream last year with Shenmue. Some crazy shit would need to occur to get me hyped. Some solid showings of PSVR stuff like the Battlefront VR thing, No Man's Sky confirmed for it, GT Sport demoed a little in VR to prove it really is happening... And yeah I mean just some clips in a video would be great, I don't see them doing extended demos after that last time, lol.

This rumoured but unlikely Sucker Punch Spider-Man game would be absolutely phenomenal if it existed... then I can't think of too much else that would blow my socks off. Crash Bandicoot for the Gaf meltdown that would ensue but personally I don't care all that much (sue me).

Maybe some good news regarding PS+ improvements, Vue coming to the UK, and of course details on PS Neo would be fantastic but I don't expect any of that, sadly.

Love E3. Love that work week. Productivity plummets and I watch all of the pressers on my other monitor.
I do miss the old May12-17 timeframe of E3. It was right when school got out (college) for the summer and before I started working for the summer and so I'd sit there and soak up game news for a week straight.

They announced games that people liked? It's kind of simple really.

Shenmue 3 and FFVIIR exist now and people can see their development progress.

So they said words people liked. Also no neither of those games exist yet. Also that hype will not translate to sales to either of those 3 games, in fact, right now any excitement is gone.

I hope they treat Neo like they treated VR at last year's E3, and just devote about 2 minutes to it or whatever and then quickly brush it aside. Console iterations are my anti-hype.

No, I want my Resistance 4 and Killzone 2 PS4 version dammit.

It doesn't even make any business sense to announce PS4K at E3 if it is set to release at fall. They will kill their sales for a whole quarter if they did so. It needs to be a Saturn type announcement, where they reveal it, and say it's in stores now.

Why are you playing dumb here?

Or what kind of alternate reality are you living in?

What are you on about? Plenty of people are excited about those games.

Those games don't exist yet? Yes... they do. Like... what?

Those games are being made. In different levels of progress, but definitely being made right now as we speak... what on earth?

Like I-hate-u mentioned, it would be very strange to announce the PS4K at E3 and then have months between its release. Especially after their announcement of wanting to hit 20m this fiscal year. For that to happen they need a steady flow of sales from here on out. So for E3 it would make sense for them to do a pricecut that would be a result of the PS4K existing. $250 or whatever it'll be. But save the PS4K announcement until they're actually ready to release it. That way there isn't much lag between it and the release and there's no time for the sales of the console in general to take a hit.

Cannibalization of sales is a risk but it depends how soon the console is out. I'll definitely upgrade myself, as I'm sure much of the current installed base will too I imagine, seeing as they're mostly made up of core gamers that want the latest tech.

If they can't keep leaks under wraps now for an October launch, there's little chance they can continue to hide it until PGW. I think they'll more than likely supplement the announcement with a price drop for the base PS4 model to spur sales until launch.

not too interested with what's announced tbh

general e3 (ps4) wishlist:
- GOW4 reveal with gameplay
- a fantasy styled FFXVI teaser
- more on ni no kuni 2
- 2-3 new IPs
- RE7 reveal and gameplay
- REmake 2 footage
- Red Dead 3
- hot shots golf
- evil within 2 announcement

haven't really been bothered by ps4 graphics or tech much, so pretty hesitant on upgrading to ps4 neo - as of now i'd rather get an nx over a neo.

Uh, they literally exist now and historically not being big sellers is exactly why their place at a show like this was special. Plus E3 is about gaming's horizon, not about what you can purchase the day after.

Doesn't PS4K being announced at E3 depend on whether it is an additional higher model to the current PS4? That and Sony's explanation of their thinking behind this move.

If PS4K is to replace the current PS4 and be the only console/SKU for sale at time of release then I can see them waiting till a ~month before launch like they've done with slims before announcing it.
