I'd like a Halo 3 anniversary with the cut "guardian" and gravemind levels added.

But that would obviously never happen :p

Halo 3: Anniversary "leaked" video has been taken down on Waypoint all day. Hmmm.

I can believe, right?

[343pls add it to MCC and fix MCC pls]

How does Frankie stay sane reading threads in gaming side related to MS/Halo?

I think I'd be clinically depressed if I was a developer on gaf in general.

I'd rank 3 and 1 as equal myself 5 isn't bad but I find the suit a bit busy if it was similar to either the large one on the right or the second from the right on the second row it would look a lot nicer.
Halo_5_Cortana_concept_art.png

Most of these look rad as hell and much better than the final product.

Halo 4 Cortana takes it for me, but 5 could've easily beaten by miles if the armor design was better. Really digging the cape in some of these.

Damn that's that good shit

Sure, or at least Avoidant. I guess it's the thick skin he's gotten over the years. Dealing with the paranoid, histrionic, and borderline individuals that show up in those threads definitely pushes devs out of wanting to communicate directly with their fans. Sometimes its constructive but often its argumentative and just plain ugly.

30 minutes? On Darkstar? What thumbless idiots are you playing with/against?

EDIT: Ohhhh, I see, so 30 minutes means 21 minutes and "shit on" means a match that ends 1000-782 while going only -7 and the entire other team goes negative except for 5 people and they had 4 quitters throughout the match that had to be JIP'd. AKA you lost a close game where a few people on the opposing team were doing well. I'll try and keep these translations in mind for future complaints.

How did I miss this lol

Maybe if you stopped running out of the front of the armory directly into the line of sight of the other armory the people at the other armory wouldn't shoot you.
Lol
This again?
I have to get in my daily quota of complaining.

You do that.

I mean, from the sounds of it, the map doesn't play the same as others and requires different srats and awareness and that's a problem in your eyes. I haven't heard a real reason for the hate other than the one Kaos addressed.

No you're fine. I'm not upset with any of the responses. There are so many variables that can go into a bad game. Sometimes it's just bad luck or i simply have a bad game and that's that. With respect to the map, it just seems like I have more bad games than good games on skirmish, so I dislike it more and more regardless of its good attributes. In today's case, it was my first game I played after waking up this afternoon. I really just wanted a quick warzone game and must have picked regular warzone on accident. I also played with no sound and then everything during the match just seemed to go from bad to worse for me personally. I was pissed and vented on gaf, which is something I should try not to do. I realize that kind of posting is shit posting at best. Dont worry about trying to rationalize my posts becuase I know they're not always rational lol. Apologies.

Did you ever consider you just have less experience on it than the others, so you're less aware of the paths, sightlines, etc?

Of course Halo 3 Anniversary would make no sense in terms of splitting the userbase etc but MS has to realize that H3 was the Halo game that lured even more people in the franchise, and they want to make money.

I would not be surprised by a H3A port. I wouldn't really like it, because H5 is superior in my eyes but I could see it happening from a business standpoint

Most console exclusives could only dream of such numbers. Crazy that this is a low for Halo.

Honestly that's better than I expected given the lukewarm overall response, and the rather dreary XB1 numbers. As long as Halo pulls enough sales to justify a AAA dev cycle and attention, though, it doesn't matter much to me. People who get upset because their franchise isn't the hottest thing on the market are sad.

I doubt anyone else cares, but will we ever see Halo: Spartan Strike on Xbox One? At this point, it's the only Halo title missing on the platform. I'd think this would be a no brainer considering the Windows and Xbox store merging and UWP.

Yeah, and I wouldn't be opposed to it either. If they give us H3A but make it Halo 3 + new additions like H2A was, then that could potentially be pretty awesome. No sprint, projectile weapons, they could include the Grenade Launcher, DMR, CE Pistol, etc.

5 mil at 3 months is pretty decent.

Sold through to endcustomers? That would be really good and really surprising to me

Would be kinda interesting if they would again only remake a couple of maps, that was the biggest issue with H2A. As long as the FoV is not the horrible one from H3

Really, what would the bald janitor of 343 know about anything?

5 mil in 3 months is damn solid, especially these days. Halo no longer dad, you are not the father, proceed directly to go and collect 200 dollah

People aren't going to like this but if H3 had hitmarkers I think it would have been far better. You would have actually known when your shots were hitting which would have made it far less frustrating.

I mean it's possible, but I don't typically just run around the map blindly with my head cut off. I rarely run through the center of the map. There are plenty of paths to maneuver around the perimeter of the map to get to other bases, which provide lots of cover. But no matter where you go, it's also just as possible and likely that other enemy players are taking the same paths to avoid fire and you run directly into them, or worse, they happen to be behind you and shoot you in the back. Or, you run into players that happen to be using a high level req to your own BR or DMR. I know I'm not going to win any arguments about why I don't like the map, but i'd prefer a less circular map that doesn't have sight lines to pretty much all the bases and fortress from everywhere on the map. Too much like Escape from the ARC imo. And apparently I'm the only one that likes Stormbreak lol.

Alternatively, better feedback from shields indicating how weak players are. Reach was a step up in this regard.

H3A could be a massive improvement over Halo 3 and could test is more numbers flock to a Halo without sprint, clamber, thruster.

They could change that too.

Honestly though, I feel like hitmarkers have barely any negatives. You could make the argument that they clutter the screen... maybe...

I wouldn't mind hitmarkers either, except for grenades which I still think should be removed unless they get rid of radar. Halo 5's hitmarker design feels pretty good, especially when you land that final headshot.

Glad Halo is still alive and pretty well. It's still on the decline but I hope Microsoft and 343i can get some good vibes from E3. Describing 343i's post-launch support to a large audience who likely forgot about the game months may be enough to give the game another shot.

They need to not push e-sports so heavily onto the general public. It REALLY turns people off to think a game is too hardcore and the skill ceiling is so high that they'll never reach it. Halo 5 caters to both with its skill matching but people looking from afar dont realize that (party vs individual matching would help here too)

All multiplayer shooters could learn a thing or two about how to sell your game from Overwatch

How about that they are giving the player too much information? Throw a grenade at a player around the corner and know instantly if they were damaged by it. Shoot someone with the BR and know instantly which shots hit and which ones didn't.

Edit: I'd like hit markers more if they were more as a debug tool in theatre.

If H3A is ever a thing they need to make the rifles hit scan. One of the worst decisions Bungie ever made.

I feel like people are deliberately trying to ruin Halo 3.

People are spoiled so much by hitmarkers these days.

I'm only talking about weapon hitmarkers and I don't see how knowing when your shots hit is too much information at all. You should know which shots hit and which missed, that's the whole point of shield flare. Hit markers are just more visible. Shooting is less frustrating and more satisfying when you know your shots are hitting.

I literally don't see a single negative with weapon hitmarkers.

While BTB pistol starts continues to be lobbied for (and I'm not against it), I'm still waiting for some fresh maps to be inserted into slayer. Past halo games have always had at least a few really good maps that players actually wanted to play on, maps that made names for themselves.

Now name a map in Halo 5 that people genuinely get excited about. That's bad enough, but we don't even see any forge maps outside of Pegasus. In the past, a map pack would introduce at least 3 new maps into the game at a time. We get one map that happens to be a remix of an already existing map. Granted the updates are more often than 3 to 6 months apart. Still, is it a surprise that players might actually be getting bored with the game?

Servers are a problem, definitely. Not having a solo queue in the game is asinine. Not adding fresh new maps to the game on a regular basis is a big fat WTF - because the forge maps are out there already and have been for a very long time. I don't understand it, frankly.
