Pretty funny that we had a few similar looking games in the conference, but yeah it fell flat. Gunplay looks a bit shit frankly, although the hordes would technically impressive.
A lot of you have tremendous difficulty enjoying or appreciating anything without shitting it up, huh? Lol
Boring? Meh?
I think we've reached a point where we are way too spoiled. This was an amazing looking game - I can't wait to see more of it.
Things are hated here constantly. Just gotta learn to ignore them, even if they're wrong.
You people are seriously hating on it? Thats it for me neogaf, enough bad vibes
Well I'm not, so that's good, I guess
Are you all seriously upset that there are people on NeoGAF with dissenting opinions from your own? People are allowed to honest when they don't like something and there is no reason to dump on them for it. Jeez.
As someone said the only was this would capture my attention is if it was The Last of Us: Day's Gone. If it was such an impressive concept that Sony would suggest that and Naughty Dog would allow it.
Otherwise it looks like a zombie game devoid of charm. The only thing I found impressive about the entire demonstration was the technology.
I don't understand the comparisons with TLOU. I mean, Days Gone is set in an open world, TLOU is not. Days gone has hordes of zombies while TLOU focus on stealth and slow paced gameplay. Naugthy Dog has close to 300 employees. Last time I checked Bend studio had about a 100.
And it is not like we have any zombie survival third person open world game on Ps4.
It must be harsh for a not so big development team like this to finally reveal their game and see a bunch of spoiled people nitpicking on it. I hope this only happens on gaf.
Loved the way that the zombies don't just stand there and wait for you to split them in half with some kind of silly weapon.
Keep up the good work Bend. I'm sure the game will be great.
Its a message board, they can also comment on what other people not reacting like they were expecting. Or are you upset that people are upset? ;D
So it's not allowed to build/form its own "charm"?
Waste of talent ? Bend is not forced to do this, they wanted to make this and its has been in development for 3+ years and still not quite there according to them as they finished core ideas recently. Its a new IP and plays with the strengths of Last of Us using story focused single player game but in a open world (not multiplayer focused like others been doing). Hopefully their next demo shows the gameplay they are targeting properly.
My point was that the demonstration was charmless. The trailer that played before to.
It just seems uninspired.
Yes, waste of talent. What's not being forced to do anything have to do with it? They can easily waste their talent on their own by making a 100th zombie game with no identity, forcing the player to shoot these mindless meat pieces for the whole 50 hours of the campaign. The game may be good - in spite of that - but the zombie theme is so off putting to me that my expectations are automatically set to the lowest possible.
It looks exactly like TLoU. Had they called it TLoU: Days Gone and thrown in a few Clickers no-one would have raised an eyebrow.
Lol at waste of talent, sure you aren't serious.
The last of us
Horizon zero dawn
Now this? Mehhhhhhhhhhh
Lol at waste of talent, sure you aren't serious.
I find it really frustrating to see so many people take up such a condescending tone just because they see people disagreeing with them in a thread. That's not a mature way to go about things and doesn't make for good discourse. It's borderline shitposting.
I guess I'm in the minority that found the demonstration to be not super exciting (within the context of what they actually showed).
This might just be the best zombie game from the looks of it. Looks amazing!
wasn't paying attention to it to be honest lol but i see nowHopefully Bend can differentiate it enough from TLOU in the coming months to put those concerns to bed - it is a bit odd that both this and God of War had strong TLOU vibes, but man - that number of NPCs in an open world that looks like that is a fucking remarkable tech feat. If for nothing else, major props to bend for that.
It's right in the thread title?
Gameplay looks really great, I love the trailer though, the voice actor is top notch.
And like we haven't seen a myriad of the same posts deriding the game as nothing impressive and even down right bad when I can't think of many open world games of this nature. I'm fairly sure if they just called them demons instead of zombies a lot of people would be doing an about face because... well its not zombies and that seems to be a deciding factor in most peoples thinking. Doesnt matter that the tech and the potential alone in what it could offer an open world AAA sandbox.
Hell I may catch flak but I could give a shit less about Crash Bandicoot and was far more excited to see something like this game.
I've been super excited for what Bend has been working on and I thought it looked great. The number of enemies on screen was amazing. They were playing a live (scripted) demo, the infinite ammo + one shot kills + easy mode were just for effect so he didn't die. I think the game looks great, and I'm a total sucker for the Naughty Dog-inspired action/adventure cinematic action/adventure titles coming out.
Yeah game looked stunning. That gun sound though...lolThought this looked fantastic. Looks like a Sons of Anarchy / Walking Dead crossover game.
The moment he climbed out the window on to the roof with Zombies just piling out of the window I was like oh shit that looks so good.
This might just be the best zombie game from the looks of it. Looks amazing!
Yeah its really well done in the game.As someone else pointed out, the way they chase you is like World War Z type of intensity.

Edge of your seat type stuff. The game looks amazing.
