Limited Run Games - Putting digital games into your hands

I'm really getting sick of the vocal minority bitching about the way LRG handles their business. If you don't like it, feel free to start your own company. You can deal with the financial risk, the customer service nightmares, the fulfillment logistics, customs, shipping damage and returns, the relationship building, the Sony approvals and replication facility components and ultimately the minuscule financial rewards. What LRG has accomplished is nothing short of a minor miracle and the fact that they are willing to work as hard as they do for what is undoubtedly a labor of love with very little financial upside should be commended.

The reality is that at some point, Fangamer will cut off preorders and you'll still have people who missed out that complain they can't get a copy. You'll still have scalpers who take advantage of those people and most importantly, all of us had to give Fangamer our money four months in advance. Frankly, I think LRG has the better model and while its true there have been some glitches along the way, what they are doing is the ultimate in fan service and probably the best thing to happen to the physical game collectors market in years.

*slow clap*

Right on, well said.

I haven't really been into most of the LRG releases so far (only bought one) but I love what they're doing and will be watching them with great anticipation for their future releases. I've got Soldner X on my calendar and can't wait to have it next to Oddworld. Here's hoping we see a ton more down the road!

Since LRG seems to be making deals a plenty these days, I'm gonna throw this out there:

Sega put out Valkyria Chronicles Remastered with a link to a survey that specifically allotted a field for port begging other games in the series.

VC2 could come out for Vita with a newly translated VC3. Or even just by itself as a Vita Port. I'd definitely buy it up.

Just wishful thinking for now.

We can get Phantom Breakers, it was an issue with paying money up front and gauging demand. We wanted to save what little money we had at the time in case we were able to get Atelier.

But if enough people want it (one half of LRG does really bad) then we will revisit the idea and see about doing it!

Does that mean yes for Phantom Breaker and no for Atelier? I'm in for both, either way! I'm just not sure you'd be able to sell a ton of copies for Phantom Breaker, compared to Atelier's potential.

Are you guys talking about the sidescrolling beat-em'-up Phantom Breaker when you say Phantom Breaker? I didn't know there was a fighting game with the same name but I'm only interested in the beat-em'-up one.

Yeah whoops, we are talking about Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds & Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Overdrive. Vita & PS4 versions!

Is there any differences between the two?
Yes, PS4 version is superior.
New skills and abilities for deeper character customization: Triple Jumps, Air Dash Attacks, Shadow Clones, and more!
Increased chaos: Levels now have gigantic hordes of enemies flooding the screen, and the item drops to match.
Alternate routes: Discover secret routes that lead you to new items, different enemies, and new skills!
New Items: Out Range and Aura Items can now be combined to expand your tactical options.
Newly arranged music: Now leveled up by the PS4! Incredible arrangements with 8 FM synthesis tones and 1 ADPCM tone!

Are there others (domestically) who haven't gotten notification of shipping yet? Maybe is has to do with the sunday release but this is as long as a limited run game has taken to ship to me.

Did this thread really just explode into Phantom Breaker & Atelier being almost a reality?

OMG. Put me down for Phantom Breaker and any Atelier games on Vita that you've got, please!
