What the hell was going through that cops mind? Was he like "He was going to shoot me! Despite him telling me he had a gun and a license for it..." what a cunt.

What irks is some people are like "Well, he shouldn't have had a gun on him" while also advocating for the second amendment and being against gun control. Wat?

Out of the average of 1000 police killings each year, 10 get actually charged, and 3-4 of those ever end up with a conviction.

I'm one of those people. While I was never an "all lives matter" person and always sided with the victims, I was quick to point out that not all cops are bad people. Being white, I just never give seeing police much of a thought and I'm sure others like me feel the same. After seeing so many incidents and hearing from people I care about, I've realized that its an everyday fear that black people have to deal with. Its an injustice that needs to be dealt with and I'm sorry I didn't fully understand the problem sooner.

I'm finally seeing people on my Facebook feed that are using the #blacklivesmatter tag and I've seen these people defend the police in the past often. I think people are finally getting fed up. It's sad that it's taking so many innocents lives lost for people to wake up

Respect for your admission and introspection. This is absolutely real, and its as bad as it looks.

If you can do anything, don't sit idly by when your friends say stupid shit. Call them out on it. Its the simplest yet hardest thing to do to potentially affect minds.

i hope people realize the underlying issue here. On a global basis, when a non black person see's a black person, they clutch their purses closer, they follow the black kids around in the bodega, they call their kids closer when a black man is around, they cross the street when a black person is on their side of the street. this is the idea behind black lives matter movement. there is an underlying bias against darker skinned people. I'm not saying to be gullible and hug every black person you see, just pay attention to how you react to people based on superficial things.

CNN just showed like fucking 10 videos of black men being insanely killed by cops. I can't believe what I just saw. I used to think you don't need to see these videos to know just how insane this problem is. But now that I saw this latest video, I just am literally slack jawed at what I saw. How the fuck does this end? How do we stop it? In the age of cameras everywhere it continues. And in graphic detail. Not sure if it's happening more often or if we just have evidence now on these racists.

I swear, if your first impulse in a case like this is to try and work backwards to rationalize this in a vacuum, and especially in spite of all overwhelming context, just....what the hell are you doing? What the hell is wrong with you? This is crazy straight up---not some damned logic puzzle out of a D.A.R.E. class!

It's this. Imagine all the shit that went down, even just in the last decade, that we will never know about because no one recorded it. All things considered black people have probably never had it better in America and that's a very sad and scary thought.

I'm a black guy with good size. No matter what there is a chance things will end bad for me. Better to drill with a gun than to be at a complete disadvantage.

You'd be surprised on low the chance of you interacting with police are.

While driving, it goes up slightly.

Needing a gun just aint the answer. Not to mention, you gotta wait a year plus to get one in NYC. And if you get one with a out of towner, its an auto 3 years.

So choose your battles wisely, big guy!

Statistically you have a better chance of drowning than being murdered by a police, if you were rational, instead of carrying a gun around 24/7, maybe you should wear a life vest instead.

I cant bring myself to watch this shit, but each and every individual police officer should be mentally evaluated on a yearly basis, fuck the cost, human life is priceless. this shit is insane.

And with the Dallas incident, it's probably only going to get worse in the next few days.
