Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

I heard the higher level you get the better CP you get on your pokemon. I would rather wait until I found a 900+ CP pokemon and then level them up if it's worth it.

I live 1 mile from the beach and 1/4 mile from the harbor and 5 of my top 6 pokemon are water types...
Are you GPS-spoofing? If yes, you probably got soft-banned for spoofing too fast and should be able to play again after some time depending on how far you spoofed

I have a CP 308 Eevee. Is it worth evolving that or should I wait until I get a better one? (I'm lv 16 right now)

Frankly, there's not a lot of consistency in terms of locations and what you find there. At least from my experience, the same stuff seems to spawn wherever I go. I've been in and out of Memphis suburbs and its mostly the same 7 or so Pokemon. I hope future updates introduce more variety ...

I think that's the most I've ever spent on a mobile game.
The pokestop thing seems like when it happens the game is just having trouble catching up (the white pokeball spinning) usually if you wait a bit, or catch a pokemon or do something else you can get it then. Or just restart the app.
so who here has paid for coins so far? and how many of ya'll is this the first time spending money on a mobile game? ive put 6 bucks in so far and will probably put more, first time spending dough on anything mobile. i was against mobile for the most part until PoGo

Im by central park in nyc and its pretty nuts here. So many people playing. A while back there was a dragonite rumor and there was a massive stampede to catch it. It was amazing lol

The order changes still yeah, but it's a bit of a pain to pinpoint things beyond that. I don't really bother if I end up walking passed something.

Since Pokemon Go I've been playing pokemon X/Y and ORAS lately more. I hope Pokemon Go does connect with the Sun/Moon games...
I think it's amazing how Pokemon Go feels apart of our culture now. Like I feel like saying I'm going out to play pokemon is a thing to do now - like going out to the bar.
Heck there are even events that mix the two together. I'm going to a Pokemon Bar Crawl In brooklyn, NY next saturday.

Went to a theme park today, Knotts Berry Farm, and spent all day playing Poke Go rather than riding and shows. Lmao. Pokestops everywhere, lures everywhere, Pokemon everywhere. Caught an Onix and Magmar, other pokemon I haven't seen yet either. Caught a 480 Growlithe and a 380 Eevee. Good ones.

Yeah same here. I'm level 21 now and not seeing many new Pokemon. I biked all over town, hit the harbor, boardwalk and pier. Managed to accomplish:
SL 2200 Aerodactyl hatched from a 10k egg
Got my SL 2500 Charmander enough candy to evolve to Charmeleon
Up to 299 Magikarp candy
Got a SL 3000 Evee! 2 evees to go to evolve this bad boy to something special.
Then the SL 2200 Lapras from yesterday is still my top pokemon.

I was there for a while this afternoon. So many people playing! I caught a couple of Pikachus, an Electrode and Magneton. I saw a Dratini, but the game kept freezing on me so I missed out. There was a Charizard right outside the Nintendo store!

I managed to place a Pokémon in a friendly gym from the comfort of my home, GPS goes slightly off occasionally and put me next to the one down the road, It only glitches briefly so wouldn't give long enough for a battle.
I live in town in range of a pokestop and can see 4 different gyms.

Oh thats awesome. I caught the dratini, tentacruel, and an eevee. Almost got a second one but it ran away
Theres a few people just setting up camp with food and music. Its honestly such a fantastic atmosphere.
I went to Nintendo NY earlier but it was empty. I got there after it closed sadly. Got a meowth though.

I'm not even sure what that is to be honest. The only thing I've done is download my location on Google maps. I haven't really had any server issues before today, so hopefully everything works smooth again for me tomorrow.

There is supposedly a huge 300+ Midnight Lure Event being held in the city close to me tonight (right now)... I'm stuck between really wanting to go, and not wanting to drive 30 minutes to get there. Decisions decisions

Caught a 47 CP dragonite in my small downtown in Ohio. Hearing 30+ people yelling about it and trying to find it was amazing. Never have I seen so many people in my downtown, it's awesome!

I suspect the nearby footprints were disabled to reduce server load.
Super weird, but I keep running into the weaker/lower CP version of the more "rare" Pokemon. For example, my girlfriend got a CP 400 Snorelax, while I got a 150 CP. Similarly, she got a 500 CP Slowbro, while I got a 200 CP.
I was a higher trainer level in both cases. Is it just random?
Edit: We walked together, so it was the 'same' Pokemon that spawned.

Just caught a metapod and a freakin kabuto on the way out. Fuck yea.

City was absolutely abuzz tonight with Pokemon players. Everyone giving tips, hanging out, sharing stories. Our friends came out and we played for a good 4 hours between bar stops/dinner. Caught some good new mons and some higher CP old mons. I have a troop of 6 over 700 CP that can overtake just about any gym in my city. Sadly I get toppled immediately since Instinct is non-exsistant here. Entire city got an Electabuzz, one popped up and word traveled over 4 city blocks and people flocked to get it.
Still just amazes me how much this game is changing everything. We were putting lures outside a bar for 2 hours and people watching. Our waiter came out and asked if it was us putting the lures down and said thanks because he just got the Jynx that showed up and that the next lure was on him.

How many lucky eggs do you get between levels 1-20?
That's actually pretty good. I just popped an egg and did 11 evolutions with 3 being new Pokemon and I only got 3/4 of the way through level 15. It slows down significantly. Basically an entire day of hunting got me from 14 to 15.
