Got mine a few hours ago. Its way smaller than i thought it would be and is completely silent. Unfortunately my TV doesnt support HDR10 but watching a UHD bluray now and the extra detail is nice but its certainly not the big leap like DVD to bluray.

So jealous, I can't wait for tonight! I was a 4k early adopter and spent WAY to much for a set that doesn't support HDR (Sony x900a). Oh well, I plan to upgrade to a 4k projector in the next year or so when they are more affordable. Regular old non-HDR 4K for now I suppose.

How large is your TV? The leap is obvious on larger TVs (55"+), but obviously content dependent.

Hi, I reserved a 500GB a couple of months ago, seems £249.99 is the 500GB price but as a firm release date is still to be confirmed we could get the bundles at the same price so it seems it's hard to locate online now.

I plan to use the Xbox one s on a 55" 4k tv. I have a 110" projector that I do most of my gaming on, but it's not 4k (yet). I honestly doubt I'll play many games on the Xbox one s, as I'll primarily use it as a uhd player and 4k streaming box.

GAF, I have a Bravia 4K TV with HDR and a Onkyo HTX-HDX22 AV receiver. The latter only supports HDMI 1.4a. So if I would get a 4K device like the One S am I forced to choose between 5.1 sound or 4K (hooking up the device to the AVR vs. directly to the TV)?

You should in theory at least be able to watch UHD bluray movies since 1.4a supports 4K in 24Hz. Youtube & Netflix doesn't change refresh rate from 60Hz though so they won't work.

I'm not sure it will work but you can set the system to 1080p and then allow 4K and allow 24Hz in the advanced settings and it will hopefully allow 4K playback on UHD bluray movies.

Can anyone check if the PSU is universal on this? Microsoft has this weird habit of not using universal power supply in Xbox for some reason.

What's the model of the TV? Newer TV's can output a 5.1 signal via optical and HDMI-ARC to an receiver.

HDMI 1.4 doesn't support HDR. So a huge benefit of UHD-BD would be dropped if there's a 1.4 device in the chain.

I just wish that Amazon logistics would put me in touch with the driver while he is still doing his/her rounds. But noooooo, a 24-48 HR response time.

I wish for the days of FedEx/DHL :(, would have spoken to the driver by now.

Anybody know of a place in London that still has this in stock?

Yeah that is poor. Sorry my friend.

I'm still sitting with my fat Xbox One. No urges to upgrade for now as I only recently got it. It's silent and it sits under the TV so that is good enough for me.

I don't think your credit information is stored on the console, but actually with MS. Erasing your profile from the XB1 should be enough

Hmmm have ms under shipped this, my local grainger games had like four units that were for preorders only. They had no other stock and didn't know when they'd be geeting anymore, seems odd.

That doesn't sound very promising so I think before getting a UHD player I wait a bit. Unfortunately I haven't found an AVR as small as my Onkyo HTX-22HDX with HDMI 2.0 :/

The TV model is KD-55X8505C. According to the tech specs it has a digital audio output (toslink/spdif).

Look how many old Xbox Ones they are still trying to sell. Who knows what the manufacturing is like, maybe it only started recently and needs time to ramp up.

I would guess the big stock will be the 500GB and 1TB model. There will always be far less of the 2TB model.

Seems a bit of a missed opportunity, although all the it's sold out pr they are getting doesn't hurt at all.

Just looked it up. It seems to support (DTS and Dolby Digital) 5.1 audio output via both the optical and HDMI ARC port.

So you can connect the UHD player to your TV and let the TV send the audio to your receiver. With this set-up you'll have both 4K, HDR and 5.1 audio.

Probably not a big deal if you use it the standard way. Would look pretty terrible vertically placed.

If your TV supports ARC. You can use that, or you could use optical for the sounds, and HDMI for the TV. Another way would be a HDMI splitter.

BTW I'm in the same boat my receiver supports 4k, but not HDR.

Should be getting mine in the mail before the end of the week from BestBuy, can't wait since I sold my OG Xbone yesterday (Day 1).

I'll probably end up getting a Vizio P55 on black Friday to complete the setup!

Still reading... but - OH SHIT!

As we discussed, we did make some refinements for 4K support and to fit in the new chassis. We also used this opportunity to increase the GPU frequency from 853 MHz to 914 MHz. By making this change, developers creating HDR titles do not have to incur any performance hit. We also decided to make the extra six per cent available to all titles. So some games (ones that utilise dynamic resolution and/or unlocked framerates) may see a very minor performance improvement. Our testing internally has shown this to be pretty minor, and is only measurable on certain games, so we didn't want to make it a &#8220;selling point&#8221; for the new console.

The Samsung 4k player is $299 at Costco right now. It has two HDMI outs. One goes to the TV for video, the other goes to the receiver for audio. This allows it to support non 4k compliant AVRs. If you only care about UHD, then go that route.

My TV is a Vizio M65-C1.

I see no mention of HDR on either's page, so thinking they do not, but would love some confirmation if possible.

Your receiver supports it, all it needs to do it be able to passthrough an HDR signal to your TV which it can (HDMI 2.0a). But your TV doesn't support HDR.
