Any firmware updates yet that have blocked this? I changed my DNS very shortly after the hack was revealed but may be interested in buying some eShop titles on sale.
Does this still work on the latest firmware? I was thinking of getting a cheap wii u and play some of those gems!
Thanks! No, 5.5.1 is the latest firmware so far and has been for quite a few months. You can disable the DNS, download your games and then put it back on
Dude... I literally answered that same question in the post above yours.
5.5.1 is the latest firmware and the userland exploit works with it.
But you don't need this to play those Wii U gems.Does this still work on the latest firmware? I was thinking of getting a cheap wii u and play some of those gems!

Anyone else getting a system update right now?

My Dad picked up a cheap as 2H Wii U for me, it's an old one that hasn't been updated for ages. Is there any reason really to keep it as a dedicated homebrew system and my normal Wii U 'pure'? Or should I just sell it off for some cash while it is still going for a decent amount?
At the moment I use my old Wii for homebrew stuff, could it replace that maybe?
Everything a Wii can do in terms of homebrew, the Wii U can do. So there's nothing stopping you from modding your Wii U's vWii and using it for homebrew. And if we ever get IOSU and CFWs, they will probably work in the latest firmware... so keeping a lower OFW Wii U is of no use at the moment, although it can be a good idea just in case something changes in the near future.
If you're not in a dire financial situation and need the money now, I'd say keep it. At worst, you can sell it in the future.
Is 5.5.1 still the current system firmware version? Might need to update a game or two and want to know if it's safe.
Can I use homebrew like a iso launcher and yet still be able to play my official on disc Super Mario Maker online ?
Also, does Tokyo Mirage Sessions loadings become faster if I rip it ? Thanks.

Not till usb =/
...what the hell happened with the wiiu scene ?
Protip: Update to 5.5.1 while you can. There won't be many more opportunities like this.
Oh lord. That sounds like real trouble for him. Fuck assholes that destroy others lifes.
Sorry for the double posting, but Mathew_Wi, whose IOSU exploit was shown by NWPlayer123 (aka Nikki) a few weeks ago, posted this a few hours ago:
Fingers crossed!
u mean nintendo, who presumably took legal action to stop/prevent their console from getting further exploited

...this sounds like an update is coming
Is 5.5.1 a new firmware or the version that's been around for a while now?
Thanks, will have to check if I'm on 5.5.0 or 5.5.1. Haven't switched my Wii U on in ages. It's the latest and it's been out since January. 5.5.0 was released in August 2015... Nintendo has stopped caring about the Wii U's stability.
Let's see how much time they take to patch the IOSU exploit once it's released.

Kind of curious if it works with Super Mario Advance 4. I wonder how the e-reader levels are handled.
I've looked through the a few pages and didn't see anyone experiencing this. I'm trying to use DDD to dump one of my discs and I'm not quite sure I understand the instructions. What is the setup ip address of server application used for?
It doesn't match anything on my home network. Are the games dumped over the network and I need to set up a computer at that ip address with a writeable folder?
I hit A to install dumper and try to launch disc but it just opens up the mii maker and nothing else happens.
Any instructions would be appreciated.
edit: I tried setting it to the ip address of a computer on my network with a shared drive still nothing.
You need to run the command line on the computer that you're going to dump the disc to, it should tell you the IP, then you change the IP on your Wii U/DDD to the IP of the computer running the command line dumper program.
I can't seem to get any of my dumps working though... I can dump fine, I can boot into homebrew channel, I can run Loadiine, but when I select a game to play... nothing but a black screen that forces me to hard reboot. I must be doing something wrong? What are the exact steps from the moment you turn on your Wii U until you can run a game from SD?
Where can I find the command line dumper program?
No, you can't play online with Loadiine, not sure about Sm4sh method though.Quick question, if I get this on an SD card would I still be able to play online with games?
