This thing is great.

Just set it up and had a quick go on VR worlds and Playroom, amazing. Playroom has been overlooked but it's definitely worth a dabble, especially as it's free.

I noticed there is a bit of a shimmering effect going on at times, it's not game breaking but making me wonder if something is up. Is this normal?

Overall I'm very impressed and excited for the future of VR.

World War Toons is pretty addicting as well!!! Plus it's FREE!! Loving the art style

US only? Can't see it in the EU store.

Speaking of, what are the region specific VR titles so far?

After cancelling my preorder months ago anticipating getting a Vive after I built my new rig I have re-preordered the PSVR off amazon. I realized I do want to go PC headset eventually, but in another 1-2 gens. PSVR seems like a good "lower cost" entry versus quality to get my feet wet. Considering PSVR is likely to become the dominant platform I expect plenty of content.

Edit: Hey reminder guys and gals. You get 20% off VR games w/ amazon prime. That brings Batman/Until Dawn to 15.99 before tax.

jump n runs are really awesome in VR.. I figured that out by playing luckys tale.. I would love to see a super mario 64 remake with this..

Hope Yokay Laylee becames an VR Option but i guess games need to be designed from the ground up to really make sense with it

The third point shouldn't be a problem for his eye specifically, but I am worried about motion sickness as he does get car sick sometimes and needs to sleep in the car to avoid feeling ill. That is my biggest concern at the moment.

It may come down to the type of game he's playing and the type of movement (locomotion) the game implements. For example, Job Simulator doesn't have any artificial movement. The only time your perspective moves in game is when you physically move your heads position. I believe Batman is the same but not 100%. Cockpit games may take some getting use to. The actual cockpit gives a good reference point for your body to understand that you're not moving but some still experience motion sickness depending on how dramatic the movements are (so eve may be a little much). I would not recommend a game like Resident Evil in which walking is done through a controller. Many people who don't get motion sickness still get weird feelings from movement like this, myself included.

If he does try a game and starts feeling off, take the headset off immediately. Many people try and "fight it" to try and build a tolerance to this type of movement but it doesn't work that way.

Ok, walked straight into best buy this morning bought a launch bundle, gold headset and PS4 slim. Grabbed rush of blood and batman vr.

Now the wait to get home tonight. That was a Best Buy in New York, they had plenty.

I have no camera and no move controllers and have barely followed the VR media. I'm sorry for asking, but I 100% need a camera right? And only move controllers if I want to play a game that requires them?

Yup, you need a camera. Move is optional, but some games are much better with them.

I went to Best Buy at noon today. They had VR bundles and non-bundles. Plenty of games. Absolutely no interest from anyone other than me. I was the only person looking at the stuff.

Afterwards I went to Wal-mart. They had Playstation VR stuff in the electronics section. Again, I was the only person looking at it.

This thing is going to bomb hard. Nobody knows it exists and once they see the price will get a PS4 Pro/Xbox One S instead.

So, you're a seer now?

Damn, my friend who let me borrow his ps4 yesterday, that was initially supposed to be for a few days, now needs it back tomorrow. So I guess today will be spent testing out PSVR to make sure there's nothing wrong with the components/headset, and then I'll be waiting about a month before I get to play it again.

Better than not being able to play today at all though.

How would you say the replayability is? I was looking to just rent it from Gamefly at some point since it's short.

Well, story-wise the replayability is not too big. But there are some easter-eggs to find and I think I will replay it. After the playthrough you unlock 30 riddler tropies or something. But I didn't had the chance to see what this is about. So I think in the end you can get something like 120 minutes gameplay out of it. But like I said, the experience is so good that I don't regret the 20€ I spent.

My headset was delivered. Just gotta wait to get home. This is gonna kill me.

Sadly I won't get to play much today though. In all of the first world problems I could ever have, this came out the same day I'm going to the Pittsburgh Penguins home opener. How dare they both happen the same day! =P

Gaaaahaahhhhhhhh! I've got some good impressions but I'm afraid there might be something wrong with my hardware. Audio through headphones is great, but audio through my surround sound cuts out every 3 seconds or so :( wtf?

I've been in gaming a long time. 30 years. I know what success looks like.

Standing in line freezing my balls off for a Wii and not getting one is what success looks like.

There were people in line in Best Buy in Utah that didn't get one. Early adopters are going to show friends and once a few more games come out this thing can really take off.

Make sure your HDMI cable is plugged in all the way, also try using a different HDMI cable if you have one available.

For those of us unlucky enough to have the PS4 Camera not arrive at the same time as the PSVR, is there any way to use cinematic mode without a camera connected? I assume I'll just have to wait until tomorrow but it would be nice if I could give the thing a whirl!

Douchebag. Yes, me.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about Gaming culture (I'm an expert)

I know I should go directly to Sony support, but I think I'll just try here first in case anyone has some great ideas.

I set up my PSVR and everything is working great! Cinema mode works, everything was updated, I played Uncharted 4 through the PSVR, everything is smooth.

However, the moment I try to launch a PSVR games (PS VR worlds, Playroom, the Demo Disk), the TV goes blank, and I get an error symbol in the headset that basically has an X followed by a box labelled HDMI (So as if to say, no HDMI cable).

Has anyone ever encountered this or heard of this happening? I feel like my PU might be a lemon :(

Did you plug the hdmi câble s correctly ?

There's the square triangle etc symbols to help you plug it in correctly

I had this intermittently when I initially set up my headset with a HDMI splitter/audio extractor in between my PS4 and processing unit. Taking that out and using only the cable the headset came with solved the problem.

Yes I have, and I'll reiterate, it all works perfectly, this only happens when I launch a PSVR game.

I'll reconnect everything right now just to be 100% sure.

I have taken the protective stickers/film off the lenses, but it still feels like I'm looking through a thin cloth. Especially Driveclub looks worse than the captured footage I've seen on Youtube and such.

This happened to me as well until the head unit fitted properly. Pull the visor down with the button then make sure you release the head band thing waaay over your head. If it doesnt fit then the eye isnt looking directly into the visors and it loks fuzzy and unfocused.
