Anybody knows what Tabata's talking about in this presentation from CEDEC+KYUSHU 2016? There are slides on how GTAV made $800 million revenue on its first day and something about Destiny on page 2.

EDIT: Ah, okay. Google Translate is good enough to get the gist of it. He's talking about what lessons he learned from GTAV, Destiny, and also DQ.

Haha nevermind then. Great minds, right?

Always!

Tbh, though, I'd kinda feel bad using anything that came from Trump. I don't even like the word "tremendous" anymore, lol.

YUGEEEEEEE.

If Trump was arguing for why he should be directing FFXV....

Q: Why should fans trust in you to make a good FF game with a system that no FF game in the past has ever attempted(action based combat)?

A: Let me tell you. This is going to be a tremendous game. Tremendous. There has never been another game this well done before, and you know as well as I do that they (SE) have been trying for years and years to make a game this good. Why haven't they done it? They've been making Final Fantasy games for thirty years. Thirty years. Why haven't then done it? Why haven't they done it? Because they can't do it. Look at the disaster that was Final Fantasy XIII. Disaster. Tremendous disaster. Their company made it. There has never been a worse game than FFXIII. Never. Complete disaster.

First new German preview:
http://www.gamereactor.de/Vorschauen/357643/Final+Fantasy+XV/

Too lazy to translate. Google Translate for German to English is good enough here to get the gist.

When this game drops what is the first thing you guys are going to do?. I think I'll just explore the world and first before digging into the story.

Definitely gonna try to go in and clear that dungeon in the very first area with the really high level enemies. Going to try and do so without grinding.

Gonna go into that dungeon for sure. Won't even use that car, I just want to walk all the way there and see what I come across.

I like to follow the main story line fairly closely when I start a new FF - if it works, I get more invested in the world and characters and it makes later exploration (potentially on a second playthrough) more engaging.

But if I stumble across an enticing dungeon, I probably won't turn away!

We'll probably have multiple OTs, right? It would be cool if the titles reflected the evolution of the story. How many can we expect before it goes to community? 3?

So:

Final Fantasy XV |OT| A fantasy based on reality
Final Fantasy XV |OT2| Reclaim Your Throne
Final Fantasy XV |OT3| Nox Aeterna

Either way it's going to be a fantastic OT. Props to the one who has to deal with making it.

No OT will ever beat this one: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=528300

I feel like it fits the story to go out and explore, though. They're just driving around and having fun, not knowing the gravity of the situation. They didn't watch Kingsglaive :p

Final Fantasy XV |OT| Tabata's Reality based on Nomura's Fantasy

Final Fantasy XV |OT| Over Ten years in the making

That second one is a reference to FF7 commercial

I really, really hope that we get some details about the Pro version tomorrow, maybe a video or version comparison.
Because the console is coming out two weeks and i have to sell my PS4 before then, i need to understand if the jump is worth enough or if i'd better save those money for a Switch.

Also, did we ever get to know what version the TGS trailer was running on?

Nah, the build journalists were playing was straight up the final game, even trophies are unlockable. Seems Tabata was either lying or mistaken.

Someone somewhere else pressed me to find the source and I can't actually find the original quote, so it could actually just be that I saw it repeated enough that I thought it was from an official source.

But it's still an edited demo to some degree, since they can't play past chapter 5 AFAIK.

GAF, I need some advice...

I currently have the $90 Deluxe Edition preordered. As you know, it comes with a steelbook and Kingsglaive. Unlike the Kingsglaive Limited Edition, though, which is $25, the Deluxe Edition of FFXV doesn't come with Brotherhood. So, you're essentially just paying extra for the steelbook, no...? Otherwise, it's not exactly a deal.

I'm seriously contemplating dropping my Deluxe Edition preorder and picking up the standard $60 edition with a Prime discount, then purchasing the Kingsglaive Limited Edition in the future if I feel like diving more into the lore, since it also comes with the extended cut of Brotherhood and is cheaper than getting it with the Deluxe Edition.

Has anyone made this switch? Care to push me one way or the other?

Been actually thinking about doing the same. I'll decide a week or so before, but think I'll get the standard version. I don't care that much about the DE's cover art (I honestly don't even think it's that good of a design).

I'm just going for the royal suit dlc that's included in the deluxe edition. The steelbook is a nice bonus too.

Sticking with the Deluxe myself because I really like steelbooks, and the DLC included is nice (Masamune, Suit, Leviathan Regalia Skin). I don't mind not having brotherhood on disc because I can watch it online whenever I want.

Just my two cents.

not me
Really don't like the art on the steelbook, so I went with the normal edition myself (for which I'll use the reversible cover).
