I just realized that Mudsdale is outsped by Gastrodon and only beats out Shellos by 1 point... this gen lol

This is why Speed is super important. When you can't even outspeed walls, you straight up can't 2HKO them.

Pokedex entries change with like every game anyway, someone probably decided to have a little fun with the anniversary game and go full edgelord lol

They've actually been endlessly recycled since Gen IV. The reason why people are excited because these are brand new entries.

Holy shit, Primarina even clears her throat before she starts singing.

GF animators putting in work.

Have they? Hm, I've never really noticed that, I distincting remember Lucario have a different Dex entry in Gen 6 than in Gen 5, though that may have been the dex entry recycled from gen 4 now that I think about it.

SNEASEL WHAT THE FUCK

Sneasel is no different from humans who just want some scrabble eggs in the morning.

Dragonite is Hulk waiting to happen!

My boys!

I get the feeling Rotom is just spouting nonsense so it can get under our skin...at least I hope it is.

So, haven't really seen this laid out anywhere, do the alolan forms have the same stats as their regular forms? The stat pages I'm looking at seem to list one stat pool for only one of the forms

Yeah, many of the Dex entries sound like complete and utter trolling, I wouldn't be surprised if GF decided to give Rotomdex a morbid sense of humour.

Alolan forms and Regular forms have the same total stats. Some got redistributions (Ninetales, Sandslash, Raticate) and some didn't (Golem, Persian). I will note that Dugtrio got an +20 attack boost from last generation.

My boy blunder runs through each of the gen VII Pokemons

Dude's impressions are incredibly on point, so I def recommend watching this if you're curious about a specific Pokemon's potential viability.

Referring to Ribombee's move pool as 'average' when it has a new move that can pass 124 base speed onto anything else in the slowest generation yet (and can pass to older mons as well, let's not forget) didn't exactly fill me with confidence, I'll be honest. That thing will be on every competitive doubles team, surely? And it passes the STAT, so 31 IV 252 EV Timid Ribombee is passing silly numbers to literally anything that can learn Protect or survive a turn, which is basically everything.

Passes it on to a Eviolite 252 HP EV, Adamant 252 Att Type Null. Instantly > Silvally.

Yeah he definitely overlooked it. Even in standard it'll be absolutely solid.

Rotation is my personal favorite as well. I think an entire game can and should be designed on the Rotation battle style somewhere. I dearly hope that it comes back one day because it's such a cool gameplay style.

Only played it briefly, but isn't that sort of how Yo-Kai Watch's battles work?

Not really. You rotate your party in both, but the result is fundamentally different. In Pokemon's rotation, you're juggling reading your opponent's many options and considering your own especially since you've only got one of many. In Yokai Watch, the rotation is a reaction. It's a really engaging gameplay style at its core for pokemon. If pokemon changed all its fights to rotations, that'd probably automatically become one of the best games in the series.

Doubles is the best format.

FACT

Doubles lost out to Singles the minute Mega Kanghaskan was created and the genies completely wrecked the format. Then Dark Void was unbanned and it was like, RIP. Then they made the 680 bst legendaries legal and it was super duper RIP.

It might win out this time though. All of these changes seem promising.
