Please anyone who gets it early tell me if it's good.

Just completed FF7 on PS4 again, good trip down memory lane. 2 trophies left for platinum. I wish they'd port the PC versions of 8 and 9 with trophies.

8 is a masterpiece.

I'm like 99% certain that no US stores will have copies until next week. Happy to eat crow but still. Don't get your hopes up.

Mom and pop stores have absolutely no reason to care. They're typically too small for the big boys to go after them.

How does this even happen? Aren't retailers contractually obligated to wait until street date? I would think there'd be heavy penalties for it, but they do it regularly.

it's funny, i'm totally on the fence about buying this game, but at the opportunity to get an early copy at a mom and pop, i immediately forget all of that and reach for my wallet.

Some do, some don't. Details are hazy but (as a reviewer who nearly always receives Square Enix games early) my perception is that outlets with debug consoles have it, and everyone else does not yet. This feels like a "game files aren't ready to be downloaded from PSN" thing.

Just wanted to chime in as it's causing a bit of pre-release stress wondering how we'll have a review ready for release. It's looking unlikely.

Being told one thing and actually getting the game are two different things! Like I said, willing to eat crow but if NYC doesn't get it super early (especially since one store will literally bribe people from shipping outlets, I got a Spanish copy of DS3 because of this) then it's unlikely other places will.

We'll see!

Texas guy seems like an exception right now. The one that sold a few copies on eBay, that is.

Our copies aren't even in our stores yet.

All of the usual NYC channels are telling me next week sometime. I know a few that I've talked to are a bit hesitant since one store got in trouble earlier in the year after someone spread it on social media that they were selling something eariy, and that wasn't nearly as high profile of a release.

Yeah, one of the big sites in NYC says next week as well. That seems to be the go-to site for many. They are getting a shipment at 1pm though of Pokemon so maybe it will be there....?

Mine shows shipped, but I never received an actual shipping notice or a tracking number. When I click for more details, it says 2-5 days shipping*, and doesn't explain the *. I assume that means processing time when it's received at the border for international customers.

The SE store updates to "shipping" when they charge you. You'll receive a tracking number once it goes out.

I really wished I knew where a mom & pop game store was at in Illinois. I don't think any exist over here. Looks like I'll have to wait til monday night when it unlocks.
