Huh, so its actually happening? The other thread was getting kind of crazy so I didn't want to get involved without more "proof" this was happening. I'm curious to see how this all gets handled. Even with all the hype, there was a lot to criticize with regards to how MvC3 was designed and supported so I want to see what lessons they learned and what changes they made. Artsyle, engine, gameplay systems and roster will all be pretty important too (especially if X-Men are legit gone).

Also include FUCKING MEGA MAN (or X) this time FUCKING CAPCOM!!!! That will all be on you, not Marvel.

If we lived in a parallel world where Fox had Avengers and Marvel had X-Men I doubt people would even care much about losing Cap or Iron Man. Like X-Men is so core to the identity of MvC I really wonder how they are going to handle damage control with the fan base over this. Marvel's next major crossover is "Inhumans vs. Xmen", and we know that the aftermath of that is the Xmen books all being relaunched with the Xmen:Blue and Xmen:Gold teams ressurrected, as well as GenerationX, and Iceman book, etc.

The status quo of Mutants as outcasts is going to go away, and Marvel is repositioning them as heroes in the same class as the Avengers. The "hated and feared" bit will be gone post IVX.

The Inhuman royal family on the other hand is getting sent into space and leaving earth entirely.

If only they could leave the multiverse and be replaced with more interesting characters so I could give a damn about the Inhumans.

LOL okay yeah so no buy. Not a single MCU character would work in a fighting game, compared to their comic book or Capcom level opponents, they might as well be slap fighting Galactus.

I don't think they mean MCU LITERALLY (though now I want Chris Evans to yell out Stars and Stripes! and Final Justice) just the characters made popular in the MCU. I'm sure it's going to be like Lego Avengers. "MCU" focus with other characters popular in comics right now like Squirrel Girl, Agent Venom, and Ms. Marvel.

As said in this thread, I love the MCU, but the Fox ban REALLY sucks.

I don't know if it's actually licensing issues, and more that Marvel just doesn't want to advertise characters Fox owns.

Which could also be applied to them vetoing any attempt to revive MvC3.

Fox doesn't own the characters. They only own the movie rights to them which Marvel wants back. Since Fox doesn't want that to happen, Marvel is doing everything they can to sabotage the movies and force Fox to sell it back to them. Fox has to keep releasing movies or else the contract becomes void if they don't release a movie every so often. So Marvel is doing everything they can to make sure the movies flop.

Perlmutter will have to retire or die sometime in the sort of near future. Maybe we'll get the X-Men back in Marvel games at some point in the 2020s.
