At the time they definitely portrayed it as a false/hoax document and it helped change the tone going into the press conference that morning where CNN was vilified and the dossier dismissed as junk.

Best I can find is a time stamp on the page source of the press release announcing the expulsions that says about 9:17AM. No idea if that's right or not or if there's an easier way to see it. Also there's really no reason to assume he would only know after the release went out.

Could be completely unrelated but who knows. Might be hard to give the benefit of the doubt.

I remember Homeland Security met with DJT right before the announcement. That may be a critical here as well.
