Apparently it is something going on. I just tried to get a HA Totodile from someone only for it to say something was wrong with the pokemon. From what I've read it has to do with how Totodile is an island scan poke and it's HA variant was locked before. So I guess they'll have to do another update soon. Hopefully.

Hope so. In mean time, all folks that contact me back... I'll have to tell them to wait longer, hahah, ugh. So far everyone has been cool about it. C'mon Nintendo.....

What exactly happens? My Sheer Force Feraligatr came through just fine.

Does he say anything about how broken Mewtwo was?

Here are all the quotes he has

You know Mankey, right? I’m actually the one who came up with it! The boss told me to make a Pokémon with a bit of this and a bit of that, and that’s what I drew! I’m pretty fond of it myself!
You know, I thought up the Pokémon moves myself and programmed ’em in myself, too. So I never really wrote down the details or anything. Sorry about that...
We had a poll in the company once a long time ago to see which Pokémon was most popular... and back then the winner was Exeggutor!
Tauros used to be real strong, huh? I was the one who thought up that one. But Blizzard was a bit too strong, eh?
You know Diglett, right? It’s actually basically just a character that I had made up when I was a little kid. I even drew up a flip-book featuring it then!
You know Mew, right? I made it. Everything about it. The pixel art, its cry, its Pokédex entry, everything. I just barely finished in time, too! It was right at the very end of the game’s development!
Can I tell you a little something, just between you and me? See, the Japanese version of Pokémon Blue was an exclusive release when it first came out. Only certain people could get it. From what I heard, that was a real pain for the people working in the shops that sold it...
We were all young folks in the office back when we first made Pokémon Blue to be sold in Japan. Now we’re all a bunch of middle-aged coots.
Back in the day, the programming used up all the space on a cartridge, so if we wanted to add something new, we had to clean it up first... First we’d find enough space, then we could make what we wanted... It was a pain!
In that one game, you could talk to the Pokémon following you to find out how it was doing. I was the one who came up with that idea!
I heard something from Masuda one time... Apparently the sound that plays when you save is different in each version... I gotta tell you...I can’t tell any difference at all!
Just between you and me, but... When we were working on these new titles once, I got told to come up with version differences... Boy, I was gobsmacked! But in the end, I’m glad I helped make them.

6000 people have been banned online so far for save editing. More to come.

Just to clarify: people with hacked Pokémon aren't being banned, just save files GF can detect have been artificially edited? So nobody needs to worry if anything they've received via Wonder Trade is going to get them banned, right?

Yeah it's unlikely you'd be banned just for getting something from Wonder Trade

Going to assume this is more about the people doing the infinite Z move hack and other ROM edits than people with injected Pokemon, either from themselves or others.

Nintendo has been really weird with their naming for 3rd games, Red / Green had Blue (which makes sense Primary Colours) and then Yellow (fair enough still a color and capitalising on the Anime with Piakchu). Then Gold / Silver did Crystal instead of Platinum (or Bronze but it's not surprising they avoided that), Ruby / Sapphire did Emerald which makes sense (all gems), then Diamond / Pearl did Platinum (possibly a call back to Gen 2S weirdness since there were remakes of them they gen), then Black / White did Black 2 / White 2 which was interesting (direct sequels and likely only possible because there were no remakes that Gen so more development effort could go in), then Gen VI had remakes but no 3rd game, though theres a bit that suggests one was initially planned (the totally out of place Zygarde stuff that ended up in Sun / Moon, the incompleteness of ORAS postgame).

Not really the naming scheme actually makes sense.

-Gen 1 naming scheme were based on the colour of the starters Pokémon, Red for Charizard, Blue for Blastoise, Green for Venusaur and Yellow for Pikachu

-Gen 2 naming scheme had a double meaning as it still was based on the colour of the Pokémon but also purity, the reason why they opted for Crystal in the third version because it matched Suicune's water type and how he has the power to purify dirty water.

-Gen 3 naming scheme was again based on the box mascot's colour.

-Gen 4 naming scheme is a little harder to decipher but I feel it could be in reference in the creation of the Pokémon universe and the colour of the box mascot Pokémon.

-Gen 5 naming scheme was based on Taoism and Yin and Yang, it's why Reshiram and Zekrom are in the opposite version of their colour. Black and White 2 still has that reference with the Box mascot as Kyurem symbolizes Wuji, the the absence of yin and yang and forever incomplete till he merges with Reshiram and Zekrom.

-Gen 6 naming scheme is because the legendary look like X and Y, it holds no other meaning and plays no part with the theme of the game. By far the weakest naming scheme.

I wouldn't be surprised they choose the names first (possibly with a theme), then design the legendaries based on the game names.

The most obvious is Gen VI. I'm sure they decided "we could name those X and Y", then "let's see if we can design legendaries whose shape match the letters"...

This happened to me with a Thick Fat Swinub last night. Island Scan Pokemon with their HA must be blocked still and can't be traded.

Amusingly Exeggutor was actually pretty popular in competitive play in Gen 1 as well. Only having 1 Special stat, and the Psychic type in Gen 1 being hilariously broken (Ghost wasn't super effective, didn't resist Psychic (which never got put in), and the only ghost Pokemon were dual type with Poison so they ended up taking super effective hits from Psychic moves, and there was only 1 or 2 useful bug type offensive moves both with terrible distribution (Twin Needle and Pin Missile) )made it into an absolute beast, especially since it got Sleep Powder.

So this was...unexpected: http://www.polygon.com/2017/1/25/14387252/pokemon-bank-glitch-missingno

Apparently, if you try to transfer Missingno to the Bank and Sun/Moon, it causes a glitch involving the Pokémon's nicknames. No idea on any potential effects for other Gen I Glitchmon at the moment.

This warms my heart because it means Missingno is alive and well and still affecting the series. Missingno never dies. Welcome back, my long-lost friend.

That is too bad about the actual consequences, though. This is probably the most severe (negative) impact Missingno has ever had.

I just wanted to post and say that I think its an incredible initiative by Game Freak to actually start actively trying to prevent the injections and overall hacks. It's been a long time coming.

I get that people want to save time but seriously it takes probably an hour to breed and EV train a Pokemon. The only thing that is slow moving in SM is the leveling process but even then it isn't too bad. Respect to Game Freak.

Just got a perfect IV, EV trained, level 100, shiny Lanturn with Leftovers from Wonder Trade

Last night my friend got a perfect IV, EV trained Celesteela with Leftovers also through Wonder Trade.

I for one welcome our hacker overlords.

Shiit brehs. Just hatched 6 IV, Female, Quirky Charmander. Been putting off IVs for years, so I am glad to get that out of the way... considering trying for a Modest as well.

And then I should back out, because this is too time consuming when there's so much else to play/do!

I hate this.

I really, really hate this.

This is the reason I never use Wondertrade.

If people want to cheat, that's ok to me. If people want to get hacked pokémons, that's also OK for me.

But why those people want to pollute other experiences with cheats?

Well the shiny Articuno I got in ORAS turned out to have 6 perfect IVs. Was too good to be real, it's definitely hacked. Meh

I have no idea why but quite a few people on Twitch stream themselves hacking shinies and putting them on Wondertrade.

I only had about three boxes of Pokemon from XY that I needed to bring over. They were all competitive-bred Pokemon that I never actually used and the imperfects/parents that I used to make them. I spend hours and hours and hours making competitive-quality Pokemon and never ever put them to use. This is why there needs to be more than just the Battle Tree.

Anyway, there were a lot that I remembered making. I know I made Azumarill, Gyarados, Rotoms, Gardevoir... But there were also some that I have no recollection of making. Not only do I not remember making them, but I didn't have any imperfects left over and I don't have parents for them. I have a Mawile. I have a Charizard. I have an Alakazam. When did I make these? How did I make these? They're all my trainer ID. They're clearly Pokemon I bred. But I have zero recollection of the many hours it would have taken to produce them.

To be honest, it's kind of freaking me out. It's unlike me to forget something like this.

Im not going to defend hacking but I will say that taking an hour to get 1 Pokémon 100% battle ready is a long ass time and doesn't really support the case not to hack. That's 6 hours to make one team. Does anyone have only 1 team? Of course not. A full box of battle ready Pokémon is 30 hours. I can see why people hack given those numbers.

I think 1h is more than really needed, but beside this, I'm pretty sure you need to spend more than that just to read the meta to know what kind of pokemon you want before even breeding it.

I just realized that Marshadow has a tiny body. I thought it was, like, an amorphous torso that ghosts often are depicted having. It's like a little guy. That rules. I love Marshadow now.

Yeah but there are people who make their teams in legit ways too, and as I've come to appreciate, it's as fast as ever in SM. There are so many people that don't even try and go straight to hacking

Are transfer moves legal now that pokebank is up?

Transfer moves should be trade legal / legal for unrestricted battle formats but not rated battle legal since they aren't 7th Gen bred / caught. Those that could only be achieved via egg breeding transferred moves should be legal though.

So now that I'm done transferring my stuff, I'm going to start breeding and EV training. I realize I should have done this earlier, but I need the Power items. What's the fastest way to get BP so I can buy them?

Do you have any battle points saved up on bank?

Otherwise you might be able to make do without. Poképelago EV training isn't fast, but it's literally effortless and works in bulk.
