I've been lurking this thread for a while, but the BTS comeback and the K.A.R.D teaser have me too hyped so I decided to finally comment, haha. Super excited for this comeback and BTS's upcoming tour; I'm seeing them in Newark so I'm super excited to finally see them live! I love the sound of their new song, and Jin's finally getting more lines it seems so that has me super happy. :)

K.A.R.D's new song also sounds like another jam, just like Oh NaNa. I love their dynamic, and K-pop lacks co ed groups like this so I'm hoping they get popular.

how hard was it to get tickets? here in Brazil we had more than 40k people disputing 14k tickets. if I wanted to get rid of mine, I could sell for double its price and no one would think i'm scalping.

Apparently they sold out within like 10 minutes and somehow I managed to get P2 seats, which is what I wanted. I had four devices refreshing the Ticketmaster site and only one came back with tickets. I got really lucky, haha. People were reselling tickets that were in worse seats than mine for like double what I paid. It's crazy how popular they are, but they deserve it :)

Rookie still hasn't clicked for me yet. WJSN's I Wish has grown on me. I've been on a WJSN kick for the last while - they're p. great.

WG and SPICA :(

Haven't hopped on the KARD or Dreamcatcher train yet, but I love that there's so much variety available for consumption for each of them.

The Bonicrew website lists it at 24,000won or $20USD but looking at eBay and Amazon re-sellers, it goes around $25 to $40 plus shipping. It's pretty cheap imo, I just don't know if I should really buy one since I still feel the feels from the show haha.

Speaking of Goblin, I was watching the special episodes they did after the ending and when they were summarizing Eun-tak and Goblin's story all the feels just came back in one fell swoop... especially when Eun-tak makes it back to Canada as an adult(y'all know the scene I'm talking about). I was eating dinner when I was watching it too and I'm pretty sure my rice isn't supposed to be salty.

They also teased a sequel during the show and while I would love to see that, I don't see how they can make a sequel after the events that transpired.
oh that's pretty low priced. i guess you an always gift it if you change your mind. lol some girl wanted this molang but it's like a 100 bucks at the local korean market =/

wow, that same girl who spoiled goblin plot for me got tickets to this same concert. she's a crazy BTS fan.

This whole T-ara thing is pretty amazing, especially as so many of the parties involved are confirming it as legit. There's a summary of the situation here if anyone's interested.

I know CCM has always been unspeakably incompetent but it still amazes me that the company had all this evidence in favour of Hyomin et al and yet was curiously reluctant to use it, either to save T-ara's imploding career or to justify kicking out Hwayoung.

I can understand not wanting to air your dirty laundry in public but if one of your biggest sources of income is rapidly going up in smoke, you'd think they would try a bit harder to put out the fire.

(On a sort of related note, I thought Hwayoung was excellent in Age of Youth. Better than Hammie IMO. I wonder what will become of her career now.)

Oh wow at this T-ara news. When the scandal happened it was so intriguing to watch everything unfold especially with how badly CCM handled everything as it spun out of control. These new rumors definitely shed a new light on all the things that happened back then. I feel like this might be closer to the truth than what the netizens tried to throw at us back when the scandal happened, it just adds up. Oh well, on the other hand we've moved on so it feels unnecessary to bring it back into the public eye. You can't win even if the truth does come out, unless you go the legal route to really get it on paper... And even then. :I

Indeed.

This is too good. It's like young Shinee (without the live vocals, but without cringe rapping).

I was gonna mention young!SHINee too... But I didn't wanna compare too much. Ah... the cringe rapping is part of their charm. Love Like Oxygen <3
I never really got into the direction SM has been going with their boygroups recently (since EXO) so this one is refreshing.

MBK responded to the new T-ara/Hwayoung/Hyoyoung articles
"Though there were aspects we felt were unfair when the incident first occurred 5 years ago in July of 2012, we didn't explain this situation. At the time, the public had already turned their backs on T-ara, so no one would have believed it had we said anything. The truth from 5 years ago has come to light, but to be honest, we don't welcome it. The misunderstanding has been clarified, but from the T-ara members' point of view, it's tough that it's being a big issue again. It's also tough to handle from our company's perspective."
Oh, poor company. You didn't do your job. I'm still bitter.

In brighter news, Pringles wished Seulgi a happy birthday again.

Happy Birthday, God.

Of course Seulgi isn't alone: The remaining three members of RV —Irene, Wendy and Joy— are all great too.

Needs to be quoted for new page. Wonder Girls deliver another beautiful, quality song.

None of this makes sense.

That's Alice.
Heh, correct thanks. Actually had Arisu typed out (photos were placeholder), intended to swap in Suzu photo set and changed text but ultimately preferred Alice's pics.
The name sequence is a bit out of order overall since I no longer started the post with Jisoo images either...

Man I feel like I've had a complete turn-around. I was listening to Rookie earlier and it just CLICKED, like I finally got it. It's so good, that bassline is everything, and that chorus. Conversely, I still wasn't feeling any of the album tracks. Maybe they just need more time to sink in.
Red Velvet is the new f(x), confirmed.

Rookie still hasn't clicked for me yet. WJSN's I Wish has grown on me. I've been on a WJSN kick for the last while - they're p. great.
Welcome aboard, Conc.
Be sure to join us in the K.A.R.D and Dreamcatcher lounges when you're ready.

Yeah, original LC was much brighter, sassy, and fun. It's understandable why their tone would darken after the tragedy, but I don't need to warp my musical tastes/desires to keep my active attention on them. Their new music is good in terms of quality and they are still great performers, but I mostly listen to kpop for pop happiness, luscious R&B, or peaceful chill mode (Lovelyz) stuff. On the occasion I do want music to speak to my depressive vibes, I'd rather it be passionately sad than just sort of detached or despondent. This is also why I prefer more upbeat and/or sassy IU to her usual acoustic songs.

Watched a bit of Pretty Pretty and Rise was still on the backtrack on the first verse. Just couldn't.
Completely understand your stance on this. My road to Ladies' Code is a bit different from some other fans' paths. I'm just happy I can still listen to them after what happened. In LC's current config. there aren't many K-pop acts doing what they do, as well as they have done it.

I celebrate their ability to persevere and not need sympathy support as fuel to keep them going.

Yeah IMO The Rain was their best track last year. The aesthetics(this is the proper use of this fncking word lol) in the music and video were fan-fncking-tastic.
I love their recent output. "Galaxy" and "The Rain" in particular have a sound and feel that works for me. The vocals, vids, choreo, atmosphere and overall aesthetic is good stuff. As much as I love the better Red Velvet velvet concept song's R&B vibe, Ladies' Code take something in that general vein, add a bit of funk along with nicely weighted and subdued elements that stop short of feeling overly melancholic.

I'm a big fan of beautifully constructed melancholic music, but I'm happy that isn't what they're doing.

The songs are so wonderfully in the pocket.

The height of the black oceans treatment and general vitriol has mostly subsided, but they have *never* recovered from this.

I can go back and quote some of the comments people made at the time, but I won't. Shouldn't come as a surprise that some of the people who contributed were also the same people who prematurely voiced their POVs in the Taeyeon "vs" Wiz Khalifa quarrel.

I'm thankful China continues to support T-ara.

K.A.R.D - Don`t Recall Key point of dance
ANOTHER JAM, IT'S ANOTHER JAM! (Dance looks a bit dumb, though) Edit: also, flat shoes hype! Killer choreo incoming.

Yaass. I am ready to be slayed.

(The choreo looks alright minus the wiping part)

In brighter news, Pringles wished Seulgi a happy birthday again.

Happy Birthday, God.

SM should honestly get her a Pringles cf.

I'm surprised it has taken them this long to get Deepflow involved. Tiger JK too.

They picked two good hosts though.

[Update] “BEAST” to return as Hyunseung & 2 others, Hyunseung says he had no idea
This is a new level of mess.

The T-ara witch hunt made Netizen Buzz, so the current refusal to translate reality makes sense
I really hope Netizenbuzz disappears for once and for all. The concept is ok, but the obvious bias cherrypicking is disgusting.

I'm so disconnected to this group, I don't know why. The last minute of choreography is fun.

smh at Jo Kwon having to say this after his Golden Tambourine performances
"As a person who respects many people in the world, I work my best to prepare a performance that has various meanings. Through diverse performances, which can be cross-dressing, powerful dance, etc., I show Jo Kwon, not just Kkap Kwon. You guys probably understand the meaning of the statement I made in English, saying that I'm not a drag queen. I think I still lack to be an artistic drag queen. Furthermore, my job is to be a singer, not a drag queen. But as a person who wants to shine the light for the stars I respect, I trust in myself and show a performance. Of course, there are people who perceive me negatively but that's just who I am. I trust in myself, a person who knows how to enjoy a moment."

Lastly, Jo Kwon added, "I was born this way. Don't be a drag just be a queen/king."

With this missmanagement of the BEAST situation and the dumb 4minute disbandment, Cube is only left with CLC, Pentagon and BTOB. They are now the most clueless kpop company by a long margin, taking the crown from DSP who have done a decent 180º (that still doesn't compensate the loss of KARA, though).

Losing their 2 succesful groups in the span of 6 months, and not having replacement groups up to par, RIP.

Yeah, I saw that. He already had said something about it, and now wrote this big text. I like him so much for going all out on his performances and showing what a good singer he is!

I have no idea how it is to be accepted as drag queen there, I'm happy to see he's above the insults (and apparently has a shit ton of people supporting him on SNS).

And he likes RuPaul's, he's cool people.

It helps that Monotree is amazing at what they do. Apparently they've been producing a majority of Loona's releases too and it shows in the rhythms, chord changes, and the general quality of Loona's music.

I'm personally all in for any kind of ballads(hell, I'm listening to Sam Kim's Who Are You from the Goblin OST as I type) but that's mostly because I grew up with the Air Supply, Barry Manilow, Boyz II Men, New Edition, and all those other 80s to 90s balladeers in rock and R&B. It's pretty much in my blood these days.

Going back to LC though, I sorta wish they'd stick with this sound forever. It's just so unique and perfect as it is, I think it'd be a crime to ditch it for something else.

Rosé is best Blackpink.

Normally I'd argue this point but after that series of posts? It's impossible.

Blackpink is so stacked, I really really hope YG does them right unlike what he did to 2NE1 and all of his other artists that aren't named Big Bang.

Pretty much. The fact that they're purposely fostering an atmosphere of hate (through misinformation, no less) is appalling. To abuse the lack of sources for translated news, well, it's depressing.

Speaking of which...

They're honestly going out on the ascendancy, not even peaked, not by a long-shot.

Song is really nice. Super chill, I really like the whole mood of it. Sounds like it belongs on a soundtrack to the coolest bar ever.
