Anyone else having issue uploading videos to youtube via the share app on PS4?

Keeps asking me to log into my google account over and over. Any quick fixes?

edit*

I have the PS4 Pro, and Im on the beta 4.50 firmware

I had this problem before when I set up 2 step aunthetication on Google. Eventually it just stopped looping. I'm not sure how it was fixed.

This happens to me every few months it seems. Haven't found a fix it just one day decides to work again.

Had this problem a couple of days ago, a friend of mine still has it.

I solved it this way:

Uninstalled YouTube, redownloaded it, opened the app and logged in and was asked to link the accounts, did it. Tried to share a video, worked.

No problems since then.

I was having the same issue but it went away. I remember going into the Settings on the PS4 and looking at linked services. I can't remember what I did to the YouTube settings in there but it seemed to fix it.

Been happening ever since ff15 came out. No idea how to fix it and googling it shows a bunch of other people with the same problem but no 100% reliable fixes.

Only thing in the settings is to Linked the account. Which does but once I attempt to upload the loop starts over

Not sure if it's the same, but to me it kept asking to verify my account when I tried to upload videos longer than 15 minutes.
Closing the webpage (where it said I was already verified) brought me back to that error screen, getting stuck in a loop.

I opened a thread on reddit (which got quickly downvoted, because who the fuck knows) and another on Youtube Product's forum.

I found a workaround (log out of youtube, then login in the Share menu when you're about to upload) but after some days it gave me the same error again.
I haven't tried uploading long clips since then, I have too slow of a connection... Anyway you should try that (revoking access, then log back in when Sharing), maybe it helps.

I'm having this exact issue right now . Is there anyway to get my videos to YouTube or saved some other way

Trying to upload horizon clip like everyone else

I had this issue some time ago and it just went away by itself after a few days. I still have no idea what happened.

Happened to me when trying to upload FFXV clips... I tried everything! I did notice and this is absolutely weird... uploading 3am it works and 11am also works. after that time it wont work till 3am again. Idk if its still messing up like that. It's definitely weird.

It happened again to me and my previous fix doesn't work anymore. I tried other ideas but nothing.

Asked to @AskPlayStation for more info.

So this happened to me and I did the uninstall/reinstall youtube app and it seemed to fix it

Problem is back again for me following the latest system update and I have no idea how to fix it, Nothing is working. I keep getting asked to sign into youtube over and over and over again.

Any ideas?

Posting here too since I'm also getting this issue.

Doing some online search, it seems like this has been a thing since 2014 or so. Don't know if this is an issue on Sony's or Google's side, but either way, incredibly laughable and pathetic that such a basic thing has been broken for so long (even if it gets solved temporarily sometimes).

It happened to me some days ago when I tried uploading a Horizon Zero Dawn clip.

I was on 4.50 beta on a Ps4 pro. To fix it, I went back to the normal firmware (was 4.07)

Have you tried it since the official release? I'm out of town right now so I can't check

Yes I uploaded a nioh clip after the official 4.5 and it was ok. Problem is I had already uploaded dozens of videos during the beta without issue, first time it happened was with Horizon

This kind of freaks me out. My uploading was perfect until this started popping up for me a couple weeks ago. I don't see a confirmed fix anywhere, and I don't think it is firmware related.

I wanted to upload a Horizon clip and now it doesn't work for me. I have the re-login loop. I didn't have any issue on the previous firmware.

I have had the issue on new firmware, and the prior firmware

When it happened on prior firmware, uninstalling the YouTube app seemed to fix it

On new firmware, nothing I have tried (and I have tried everything) has worked so far.

Now I get the re-login loop again.

Yeah, something is really fucked with PS4 and being linked to YouTube.

What a shit show, considering this is the most ubiquitous video upload service.

You can actually see the deassociation between PSN and Youtube in your google settings for connected apps. Everything is good on the screen where it says "Your SEN account is now linked to your YouTube account: xxx", then it says Please Wait, then you get the option of what service you would like to upload to and you select Youtube and it disappears from the connected apps.

Hey JareBear, try this thread, where a ShareFactory developer posts about some upload issues:

I don't get the re-login loop now, I was able to upload a random Disc Jam video but still not Horizon Zero Dawn gameplay.

Thanks for that link. I try the sign in/out of app, then sign in/out of account services technique now.

The main thing that worries me is that as Mic21 said, there are reports of this happening as far back as 2014 so whatever is messing with the PSN/YouTube handshake seems to be unknown by whoever is in charge of fixing that kind of thing

Happened to me as well, and this started recently.

I think we all need to tweet @askplaystation about it because they seem to think it's a strange issue and don't realize it's a big one.

Ok. I will begin doing this.

And you're right. There are a couple small threads about it on the official PS support forum, and a couple other convos about it spread out here or there but nothing big enough to be taken seriously by Sony, I guess?

That's what I'm thinking, and they need to know it's a big issue affecting a lot of people because there's a Share button on the controller, and share functionality is one of the big things they've stressed with the PS4. It's also a great feature, and something like this is a big impediment.

I encourage everyone to tweet them.

Yeah no, they told me the same through twitter but it didn't work. It comes and go tho, sometimes it fixes by unlinking from PS Network, sometimes uninstalling YouTube, sometimes signing off, sometimes unlinking from Google, some times deleting YouTube and sharing without installing it again.

Anyway, there must be an issue here, I've been sharing videos since day one and since YouTube was a thing and suddenly a week ago I have this problem.

Edit: Link yo my tweet and their answer.

I also wrote something on Twitter at them, but I don't have a real account just something I upload images to.

But yeah I've also uploaded to YouTube since PS4 launch and never had issues. Since 4.50 I have this re-login loop even though it was gone for a moment earlier today.

Managed to upload two videos but Horizon video only when I went through Sharefactory. I think Share is pretty much broken if the most popular video service doesn't work.

Yeah, that appears to be their basic answer -- kind of like, "Try restarting the computer," -- and it's probably because Sony as a whole isn't aware how big the problem is, so tech support isn't as well and is going through the basics first. That's why people really need to contact @AskPlaystation en masse.

I can't help but wonder what could be causing the issue. I did have a YouTube Red subscription that I cancelled, maybe that messed something up somewhere?

I really don't wanna sound like a broken record but I do not think it is firmware related. I have had issue pop up on multiple firmware versions and some people reported this issue back in 2014.

For whatever reason the handshake between PSN and YouTube is busted on some accounts, my google/youtube account doesnt even list PSN as a service I gave permission to.

Thing is I have tried signing into multiple google accounts, so maybe it is on the PS4 end. I dunno. My head is spinning.

Uploading to YouTube is easily my most used share feature, with twitch streaming following behind.

For me it has appeared after the firmware update, but this could just be a correlation.

I just never had issues before except maybe 2 times or so that an upload didn't work and I had to clear the upload queue.

What I know for sure is that I didn't touch any Google or Youtube settings between it working and it not working.

I am wondering if there is some correlation between the YouTube app on the PS4 and this issue. I just went into my Youtube account settings and removed PSN from my list of apps. Hoping to "restart the process" clean

Until today I didn't have the YouTube app installed. Maybe at the start to test but not for the vast majority of the 3+ years I had a PS4.

Yeah, it didn't help anything.

I can't even get my PS4 to show up under recently used devices even though I am streaming to YouTube right now.

The app shows up in recently used apps.

This is a response posted over on the Sony forums....

I've been having the same log in loop issue... Until tonight!

I think this is a Google (YOUTUBE) problem and not the fault of the PS4 or Sony. It seems Google's security systems, are protecting our accounts from being hijacked. Google will email you when a new device tries to access your account, and will restrict access to your account from that device until the user responds to the email.

Look in your email inbox (or junk folder) for a email from Google titled "New sign-in", this email is generated by Google when it detects a log in from a unknow device.

The following text is from the email.

Don't recognize this activity?
Review your recently used devices now. <- click the link in your email, to be taken to "Recently used devices" page>
Why are we sending this? We take security very seriously and we want to keep you in the loop on important actions in your account.
We were unable to determine whether you have used this browser or device with your account before. This can happen when you sign in for the first time on a new computer, phone or browser, when you use your browser's incognito or private browsing mode or clear your cookies, or when somebody else is accessing your account.
Best,
The Google Accounts team

The link in you email, will take you to your google account, "Recently used devices" page. There you'll see some details about the device (PS4) trying to access your account. You'll be able to choose "YES, THAT WAS ME" or "NO, SECURE ACOUNT". Choose "YES, THAT WAS ME", allowes your PS4 access to your YOUTUBE account. Give it a few mintues, and try uploading a video from your PS4 again. You'll need to log in again, but this time, you'll only be asked to do it once, and the video will start uploading right away. Ingoring the email, will keep your PS4 from accessing your account, as Google assumes if you're not responding, you aren't the one trying to access your YOUTUBE account.

The reason for the repeating endless login loop, is that email was going ingored, and Google was rejecting the login, promoting another attempt. I notice after three tries tonight, I had three emails from Google. Well that was there was the problem. I hope this help, if it does please spread the word, to anyone else having trouble.

The problem is I stopped getting emails about the sign in a few days ago. I would get one everytime I tried to sign in but then it probably stopped because I was attempting to break the log in loop dozens and dozens of times over the last week. The last email I got, I click the link he talks about, and there is no PS4 under the devices list, so I can't confirm it was me.

Ughhhh

OHHHH I've got those emails but didn't pay attention to them and I'm not receiving them anymore either. :O

I created a test account and tried logging in to it on my PS4. I got the email on that account, clicked the link, and was able to confirm that the deivce was me.

So I guess the issue now is figuring out how to get those emails again on my primary account. Maybe it is a time period that has to go by that gets triggered by enough spammed log in attempts (which I was doing hoping the log in loop would just take care of itself eventually)

But have you been able to upload?

I've confirmed all the past activities, even changed my password and for me it still removes PSN from connected apps as soon as I try to upload.
