Splatoon 2 Testfire Thread: This is a port...able game now

Doesn't read OPs, especially not his own
I managed to get one matchbin, everything was going good until it got to the last min, then my team let me the fuck down

Okay, for some reason playing with wireless controllers if giving me connection errors.

Playing in Handheld mode is fine.

Playing with a Pro controller or disconnected joy-cons is giving me all sorts of problems.
Obviously others are using wireless controllers and aren't having these issues, but wireless controllers are definitely the cause of my problems.

Table top mode disconnects, docked mode disconnects - handheld has had no disconnections. As soon as I remove the joy cons, disconnected internet connection.

Hopefully this is something Nintendo can fix in a firmware update. This doesn't just affect Splatoon but also watching trailers on the eShop and playing Fast RMX.

The game is awesome.

Do the majority of people play with motion controls off? Or is it worth keeping it on? Is it better for aiming after some practice? I want to get better. I feel I suck. Lol.

During Splatoon 1, most people seemed to use motion controls. However, you should only use motion controls to fine-tune your aiming, use the sticks for bigger movements.

I really really really miss the Gamepad map, though... I can't see how the current map solution in Splatoon 2 can well during gameplay.

I think the gyro was better in the Wii U

seems like everything Switch is back to six axis
Had the opposite feeling playing the game. I found them even better than on Wii U

Yep. Good advice for newcomers.

My first Splatoon experience and it was pretty fun. The dual guns are nice, that special kind of sucks though, you're just waiting to be shot down lol.

Uni internet can't fix the NAT issues until at least next week...

...oh well, I'll enjoy the game when it comes out in full.

gotta experiment a bit more with pro controller v split joycons. Split joycons definitely feels like motion control done right... but it's a bit too sensitive and you never really realise how often your wrist is a little off-centre and it throws your aim

splat dualies are my fucking jam, it's like a splattershot jnr but with a dodge roll, though the recovery on the roll is painful (almost a second i think of can't move)

I'm guessing the broken connections depended on which regions were getting the most stress. I'm getting 20mps on my Switch which should be more than enough to play an online match, but only got one full game in.

First time player, started out horrible but got the controls figured out pretty well near the end. The music is great, game becomes more fun when you get proficient. Only played in handheld mode so far.

Definitely better with gyro, just keep practicing. Play single player mode in the full game and you'll adjust in no time.

I just made an insane splat:

I was flying with inkjet and in trouble. I instinctively held ZL and dove under the ink!?! Enemy converges on my flashing beacon. At last second I burst out of ink and splat him on way up.

I love this series so much.

I managed to get back to my hotel in time to catch the last 16 minutes. Online was flawless on the hotel wifi but matchmaking seemed spotty.

The dualies felt so good and I love the jet pack:D

i find the switch controls much more reactive and accurate ! maybe it's because i play with split joycons and it's much easier to move only one hand than both stuck on the controller.

Was top two in every game I played, and my team won probably 80% of our games. Good shit. Lots of people who weren't playing at all, which was weird.

To those saying you need to get used to controls, try non-motion. I can't stand the motion controls.
