Street Fighter V |OTVIII| New Delayed Generation - Controversial Inputs

Weird, SF5 won't boot when I have my Hori FC4 plugged in. Gives me that failed to start memory error thing.

lol. This fucking game.

Fighting game of the year.
As much as I like free characters, yet at this point i wouldn't mind forcing us to pay for new dlc characters in exchange for offering all costumes for some fight money instead.
I paid 120$ and had to grind a lot more and waste a lot of time on stupid servers and loading times to get stuff that's comparable to a game like IJ2 with it's 100$ Ultimate edition or Tekken 7's 85$ Deluxe Edition.

This game is highway robbery.

Soo.... no change from this:

I don't think that's quite fair. Gief, Ryu (even if I don't understand why they changed the animation of his c.hp), and Sim animations that got added all look really good. This airthrow is still an outlier between the stuff that's been added and the new characters we've seen so far.

Man, just let me shit on the game. :(

lol

I feel like we can now be certain that Capcom has pulled all their major talent away from this game and it's just a closet full of dudes trying to fix it. They're all probably sharing the same computer too.

I don't think they had major talent on this game at all. It was made on the cheap and continues to show it. It's a failed experiment in every sense of the word.

I thought the air throw looked a little smoother in the beta (still wack though). Maybe I just imagined it. Regardless, I think part of the problem is just the concept in general. Cammy stretching her body out like that in midair and then spinning just doesn't look natural. They should have just given her an air throw that looks like Guile's, like in SFIV. Failing that, they could have recycled the animation of her hooligan air throw, which I think is what they did in Alpha 3 (unless I'm misremembering).

Although I'm usually more on the side of positivity, I do feel like the budget and priority wasn't high at all with this game. Some of the decisions really seemed boneheaded, and most of it doesn't even require Capcom to look at other titles. World Tour Mode and the customization options in games like SFxT were enough to draw inspiration from, that's there own past work they could have easily built upon.

I am going to give the game until S3.5 though, so around this time next year if it's not a basically revitalized game from its Feb. launch, I think Destiny and SP games and Switch will take the bulk of my gaming time. Too much good stuff to play than be frustrated. They are heading right, but the pace is still lackluster, and they can further improve the reward system for loggin on everyday, especially for more casual players.

Oh no, it's ok cause you can unlock characters.

Seriously, Survival mode is A-ok cause you can then use it to unlock DLC characters like Juri and Alex.

I mean, you CAN unlock characters and stages for free (something which Tekken cannot do) also certain costumes and colours.

So Tekken 7 has an arcade mode but people are complaining because it's barebones. So if you want to know what the reaction to a future SFV arcade mode would be hop over to the Tekken OT.

Yeah I can't believe it's taken them years after the arcade release just to put in something so barebones. Weird.

Aw god, haven't played in months and I'm accidentally using Tundra Storm when I try to SPD, haha. They're forcing me to clean up my sloppy inputs XD

Or they could've used her hooligan throw animation, which does look good. Anything than that.

I think that's debateable. I paid £45 for SFV at launch and I have all of the S1 cast with FM along with a few stages and costumes, and I almost have enough to get Kolin and Ed too. You can also pick up the game in sales with both season included now that will garner you tonnes of more FM to buy you more characters, stages and possible costumes in the future.

lol

PC loading times do not appear to be improved much if at all for offline training mode, with the fastload mod installed. Unfortunately I do not have the old numbers without the mod, so I can't say if those have improved.

It is possible that they simply shortened the default waiting time on the vs and character select screens and/or reduced the amount of time you have to wait for the server (which added 6s when entering training mode the last time I checked). They may also have improved loading times by repacking the files, but IO does not seem to be a bottleneck for SFV, on my PC, so that wouldn't make a difference for me.

But is it still 3 frames of animation?

Console times are definitely improved by six or so seconds.

Yeah, I saw that. And the improvement to PS4 loading times will be a boon to PC players as well, since most of the people we run into are on PS4.

If they've actually reduced the amount of time you spend waiting for the servers, then the modded loading times for going into training mode will actually be shorter than the corresponding loading times for USFIV.

For what it's worth I didn't have this problem with my FC4 (asymmetrical model) though it did ask me to configure it as though it were the first time I was using it. You could try plugging it in after launching and see what happens. Maybe it's a corrupted pad config file? (I am making shit up but still that's what I'd try.)

I wanna believe you, but I can't fathom how that air throw got okayed considering the quality of their other animations.

Consider this - the new Ryu cr.HP animation was taken from a pre-alpha build of the game. All the animations looked a little rougher back then.
