[RUMOR] Marvel vs Capcom Infinite roster leaked

Exactly how I feel. It's a super lazy MCU push. There's tons of awesome MCU characters they could have used. Instead...

Yeah, the issue isn't the MCU focus (Although you could argue it limited them) it's not the lack of characters with movie rights owned by other companies (Although you could argue it limited them too). It's honestly just a boring roster.

Usually in these types of threads I usually urge a wait and see approach but there isn't really much that could redeem this now aside from the leak being false or Capcom being really fast and responsive (Both are unlikely). I'm not going to overreact and say screw this game, but it's gone from a definite buy to a maybe.

I'm disappointed for sure, but it could be a good game and good DLC choices could help salvage things too if you're willing to pay for them. It's risky though the negativity hurt SFV quite a bit and I fear that might end up being the case here too.

I remember you thinking that a particular character was a very bizarre choice considering the small cast. Which character was that?
One of the first characters I heard about was Spencer, which, along with the aforementioned blustering, gave me the impression that there would be a large starting roster. It's still pretty shocking that a Bionic Commando character made the cut in a 2017 fighting game roster with only 14 Capcom characters.

In all honesty with this roster, they should have just updated UMVC3. Less work and they would have got more done.

Yeah honestly I would have been happier with "All New All Different MvC3" or "MvC3 NOW" or w/e they'd call it and just get a new batch of 8-14 characters or something.

Is jedah the one that you mentioned about having crazy animations or couldn't believe they pulled off?

If there is stuff you can't say no worries brother

The Steam equivalent of the drunk friend who keeps offering to pay your tab all night.
the saddest thing, as many have already said im sure, is that its mostly recycled umvc3 characters and the roster is STILL tiny

As in "Heathcliff"
nemesis over haggar? eat shit capcom.

Lack of Haggar really stings. Look like I have to rally for Haggar, She-Hulk and BOF when they are doing the polling for DLC.

At least he have a hammer throw. Hopefully he's not arse.

God damn, that's depressing. D:

UMvC3 is on PS4 after all...I could stick with it if I ever have a VS urge...I'm starting to think this one can eat shit, unless the story mode is absolutely glorious.

I told my friends we probably would play UMVC3 after MVCI come out.

Yeah, Jedah's the villain I was hinting at. I couldn't believe Capcom included him -- surely there'd be a bunch of other cool newcomers if they went so far as to include Jedah, right? Wrong!

Can you tell us anything about the DLC plans. How quick will the DLC be coming out, how many characters/batches are they planning.

I know everyone hates DLC but if we could get a big diverse roster relatively quickly I'd be willing to drop the cash on it if people were playing it.

I personally think he's a great choice and I complained that we got the 3 DS characters we got last time instead of someone like him or Donovan.

This game had a red flag on it the moment they revealed that CG trailer. Looked like some promo for some F2P phone game.

So far Ultimate Marvel 3 has this game beat in every imaginable way minus story mode.

At the rate SFV is going, I'd say it's a trickle.

I don't know for sure, but considering finalized DLC names were being thrown around as far back as December, I'd guess that Capcom has a really aggressive DLC plan in place. We already know that six characters will be released between September and December, which is a fast pace to start with.

So odd not having Wolverine. I get it. But Wolverine was the one guy to be all other capcom Marvel fighting games. He was the Marvel Ryu.

If this list is actually true and this is the roster we're going to get, then I sincerely hope that the DLC is hype as all hell, since this is really underwhelming. This isn't to say that the roster is bad, but when we look at it as a whole, we are literally carrying over a big chunk of UMvC3 characters (which isn't bad mind you) and adding in a few characters that are... ok.

I'm just trying to figure out how Monster Hunter is going to be included into the story mode, since you can probably guess that any characters in the initial roster will be apart of the story mode. That and how we have three Guardians (two playable, but Groot playing as support for Rocket), and how Star Lord isn't playable? That either makes me feel like they have re-prioritized importance of a starting roster, or if we look at the "DLC" there is a good chance that we might see Star Lord (and maybe even Drax) take up one or two of the six supposed DLC slots.

The more I think about this list, the more it makes me feel as though this can't be real. The other big kicker is that at E3, it might not even serve as a way to debunk this or confirm the list since we can probably guess that a good chunk of characters on this list that were in the UMvC3 roster will be shown off, while at the same time, if they show off "Antman" as playable, that would just be a dead give away and doesn't really confirm much since we could guess that he was going to be included anyway.

If we do see Jedah or Monster Hunter at E3 though... Then I might just hold off for the DLC since Sigma does interest me greatly.

Most surprising is no Zero. Sigma and X is there. Zero will be the perfect addition.

Maybe DLC I suppose.

Bare in mind that when Sigma was shown off, there was the extra Tidbit mentioned of "Six All-New DLC characters." So unless if they decide to do a second season of DLC characters, chances are that we won't see Zero at all.

That's slower than I would hope, but faster than I would expect. Some of the characters honestly are pretty cool choices (Sigma, Jedah and Venom come to mind). Maybe Capcom can get this going somehow, or maybe they can dump in progress characters into the game before launch.

I don't know I am trying not to be negative.

Is there anything redeemable about this game at all?

Do you know the full list? 🤔

If Capcom can somehow manage to deliver 12 DLC characters by EVO times (2 each month like they have planned out apparently) then this game can be recouped quickly enough. That's still not where the roster should be because it would only be 2 above Vanilla Marvel 3 but it would be a decent starting point. Then after EVO with a new season they can make another big update and hopefully round out the cast even more along with additional modes.

I have to say that for most people this game is definitely a "wait for more complete version" rather than buy day 1. Of course FG pro players should be getting it day 1 to keep up with the Joneses but everyone else should wait until more characters are available for a cheaper price.

I guess I'll be that really greedy guy and say I love the roster merely because of Arthur's inclusion.

Arthur is my favorite video game character and despite how bad he was in vanilla, I kept him in my team for MvC3's entire lifespan. I figured he'd get cut, but really wanted him in this time because I think he'd thrive in a game like this (2v2, no assists, gems to help his mobility, etc.).

That said, Firebrand is definitely odd given there aren't any other DMC characters and Wesker isn't even in the roster yet.

A little disappointed that there's no Daredevil, but Arthur being back is the best news I've gotten all week haha.

I'm legit not excited for the game anymore :(

I was hoping for awesome new characters (Edward Falcon, Samanosuke) etc. Also, no Phoenix Wright, no Akuma, no Tron Bonne, X-Men etc, (not gonna list them all).

I can't day one this.. with a SF game I'm willing to overlook the small starting roster but this is Fucking Mahvel Baby.. I can't co-sign this especially with a vs game.

No one should have any faith in Capcom being able to put out two DLC characters a month for this game. They can hardly put out SFV characters at a reasonable pace after all.

Now granted, most of the DLC characters could be vets from UMvC3 allowing them to reuse animations and such, but fuck man, having most of the DLC characters just be characters from the last game that got cut would suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

in all fighting games, i see a lot of players who only play female characters. with only 4 in MvCI's roster, that's gonna suck.

Outside my RE bois (Nemesis, Wesker, Chris), female teams are usually my go to. Not liking Chunners and Morrigan, im now left with just Gamora and Captain Marvel as a all female team. It's sad.

It really should be when you're supposed to be running a business. The game should be designed to make a profit, not for the personal enjoyment of one of the suits at Capcom.
That is what the current roster is right now every major franchise player from both companies even Monster Hunter. The only exceptions are on Capcoms side and Nova(unless it's kid Nova). Adding dead clover studio franchises to the game isn't gonna produce major sales.

I'm not really big on the concept for putting in female characters to fill a quota, but this is still *really* slim pickings. I don't even feel like they ones they picked are really good choices either and it sucks because they honestly did have some really cool female characters who would have been great to see in the game like Black Widow.

if you wanted to fix the capcom side to go with "Major Franchises" you'd cut out

Ghost N Goblins
Darkstalkers
Bionic Commando
Strider

And replace with

Onimusha
Lost Planet
Ace Attorney

There's a one other) series that have sold more but they're rather close (Dino Crisis is 4.4), . GnG is at 4.2 million while the other franchises don't even list. Those 3 listed though are definitely bigger series though (even if they may not have the historical potential)

The roster has Firebrand and Jedah in it

I don't mind it at all. Spencer of MvC3 is a legacy veteran and deserves to be in this one based on all the hype moments he brought in that game.

My point is Spencer is not a surprising pick considering the guy that made him popular is on the dev team.
