Geoff Keighley: Scorpio rumored to cost $499 (he's right, flawless victory)

It will sell to people who are completely all in on Xbox and want a more powerful system.

Microsoft has data as to how many people that actually is.

But it's probably a few million.

I sincerely doubt that it's a couple million after Xbox one. I'd be surprised if scorpionsells a million in its first 6 months at this price without a killer app.

Damn, nothing gets past you dude. I mean it's so fucking obvious right? You sure outsmarted those dipshits at MS. They were all like "No one suspects a thing!" and then you came along and they're all like "Aw fucking gutterboy44 saw right through us! God dammit!"

Boy did something get under your skin today. Take it somewhere else if you feel the need to talk shit like that. I await your heartfelt apologies when $499 is not the launch price.

It's not like it is in England where you can become successful by being an asshole.

I honestly still don't buy it, and I really think it's 399. I also think they VERY much want everyone to expect 499.

.

Whether it's $399 or $499 I definitely think they want people thinking that's the price going in with their "premium talk" all year.

It wouldn't totally surprise me if they were trying to manufacture a moment since $399 isn't really a big deal otherwise. The Pro was that a year ago and will no doubt get a price cut.

Considering their decisions this gen, I wouldn't put much faith in Microsoft's predictions

Interesting. It seems to me that Microsoft doesn't understand why the PS4 was successful - price point.

That is a high price especially if it just runs the same games on Xbox one and PS4 at a higher resolution/better effects.

It will be interesting to see if they can get sales from those outside the core Xbox gamer.

The outrage that some display here is laughable.

He's a journalist. He's impartial and does not "owe" MS or Sony or anyone else for that matter anything.

Whether the $499 report is of any substance or not remains to be seen, but journalists should never hold back doing their jobs.
