LOL! You think after the months and years of planning MS can suddenly decide right before the reveal that they can lop $100 off the price just like that?
Not in the same day, but they dropped the online only, no used games and the Kinect in the past no?

So what you're saying is that MS already revealed the price themselves but are going through all of this bullshit just to reveal it as as surprise

You guys are officially insane
You are insane, why don't you start off a petition?

Microsoft is playing the marketing game and it's fine. Don't need to lose your shit over it.

But that $199 option would be an Xbox One S for someone looking to buy an Xbox. Which is fine for Microsoft. The Scorpio is not meant for people wanting a cheap console.
But it doesn't change the fact the Scorpio is a hard sell at $500. Which was the point I was making.

At the end of the day, people bought PS3's for $599 and Xbox Ones for $499. If the price is $499 I'm sure it will still do fine. The hardcore it is aimed at will still be on board.

Maybe $499 is the early adopter model like the Xbox S launch.

This has to be the best troll post ever! I don't believe for a second that Scorpio will be $499. Surely MS isn't stupid enough to shoot itself in the foot again!

There is a big difference between "Sony stayed quiet several months and then dropped the bomb" and "MS deliberately used a rehearsal to circulate a fake price a couple of hours before their big conference to set up a reveal for the better price."

I don't see the difference to be honest with you. In my experience, if Microsoft were to do that it would be normal play but hey you could be right we'll find out soon.

I'm sure the people impressed with the specs will have no problem paying this.

It's the people who wanted this to be the resurgence of Xbox to combat Sony that are disappointed.
And those are the people who already own an XB1 and would only cost Microsoft money if they sold them a Scorpio at a loss. Scorpio would only make Microsoft money if it brought in new gamers who are not already buying Xbox games or paying for a Live subscription.

that's not what most people talking about 500 are concerned about. it's not about GAF buying this console.

GAF said the same about switch, look at it now. Its all about the content and how you bring it to the world.

However, i do hope its 399, so Sony will get sharp again.

For sure, but this is 2 hours before the conference!
Of course there could be a chance that (because of possible leaks like this one), they've used a different price during rehearsal.

But yeah, other than that, they won't change the price anymore now.

Really expected them to go for $ 399, I was sure of it actually. Guess they gotta make a profit on it and regaining market share isn't key for MS after all.

There is more to performance than pure flop numbers. My GTX 1070 doesn't run Apex at 4K60 100% of the time during the rain due to the bandwidth needed.

.

I feel like real Detective GAF is going to have to work overtime in order to be able to properly dissect Microsoft's conference and all the *'s with how many times they are probably going to repeat "4K" let alone "Better on Scorpio/(Optimized for Scorpio from the EA conference)". I'd be surprised if multiplat trailers don't totally open with that in that monotone announcer's voice ad nauseum to the point of craziness. Even PCs can't run everything at 4K yet, especially when approaching 60fps.

Also, what's this year's "Rise of the Tomb Raider, exclusively this winter" comma going to be.

You had to buy a PS3 to play it's exclusive games
You can play any Scorpio game on a Xone

It's a whole different situation
