People actually believe this will be $499?

It doesn't matter who we are, what matters is our plan.
If it's $499, anger at the price.

If it's $399, anger at the tactics.

*Kissing of teeth*

If they just rehearsed with a different price, then that's up to them. Nobody can honestly cry foul that they misled anybody by using a number which was meant to be behind closed doors.

At the end of the day, people bought PS3's for $599 and Xbox Ones for $499. If the price is $499 I'm sure it will still do fine. The hardcore it is aimed at will still be on board.

Maybe $499 is the early adopter model like the Xbox S launch.

Look a little deeper at those two examples if you think it will do "fine". Both PS3 and XboxOne struggled mightily at those price points.

Are there actually people that think this isn't a controlled leak by MS? They wanted to get the price out of the way for GAF, they just didn't account for the mass levels of delusion.

But if they are that concerned about it why are they even using a placeholder for the price in the first place?

They can't do a rehearsal with a blank space? Like they don't know?

Im curious what people expected. This is like when people wanted the Switch to cost 199. Yeah, 299 for the scorpio would be great, but at the same time people need to be a little realistic. If this is capable of what they claim then it isn't cheap to make. Selling it at a loss makes very little sense for them as far as Im concerned.

Not that I think it will great at that price point, I think it could find a place in the market as an "elite" gaming console.

You're proving my point. What would it matter to you what they use to practice their rehearsals? That's up to them, nobody else.

This is really interesting reading this thread, because I thought the whole point of console gaming wasn't necessarily to get the very best graphics, I mean everyone knows that's what PC gaming is for. I guess these corporations figured out a lot of people still weren't comfortable messing around with PC's, because people are clearly willing to spend hundreds of dollars to buy a console twice for a slight graphics upgrade.

EDIT: This is on the basis/assumption that this is just an Xbox One upgrade, not a new gen.

Don't kid yourself if u think Microsoft doesn't want to be number one
console seller. Question: what was last console to be number one that
launched at $499? Thanks.
