Come what may from e3, but Switch will have had a stellar first year imo:

  • Mainline Zelda
  • Mainline Mario
  • At least 1x new IP (Arms)
  • Sequel to last generation's smash hit (Splatoon)
  • The definitive Mario Kart
  • Xenoblade 2
  • A decent version of Skyrim + DLC
  • A decent version of FIFA
If we get Pikmin and Smash in some form I'd struggle to see how Nintendo could have done any better tbh.

We also have Fire Emblem Warriors this year and the Mario + Rabbids game, and MHXX is launching in Japan too. All of those could be million sellers IMO.

I know the Switch doesn't have enough for all people at this point (for example if you had a Wii U and are mostly into single player games), but at least commercially I think Nintendo is set up to do very well for the rest of the year. Packing this year with more big games is almost wasteful at this point, you need big stuff for 2018 too and it takes time to develop big games.

Skypunch is banned? Finally the Xenoblade community can be at peace. He would spam threads on gamefaqs and the Xenoblade Reddit and basically everyone would tell him fuck off but he would keep on trolling. Really excited for a new trailer for Xenoblade 2, hope there is a gameplay demo on Treehouse Live.

Damn this thread blew up this weekend. I think I've caught up: Reggie confirmed 25 minutes but fast paced with lots of reveals, Best Buy placeholder images were old from January, Xenoblade 2 pushed to 2018 wait no, back to 2017, Skypunch punched the sky...

Did I miss anything?

Yep, agree 100%. I really tried to get into Xenoblade and Xenoblade X but the combat system never clicked with me. I really, really disliked it. If this one is basically the same I'm not even gonna bother trying it.

Yeah, hopefully we get an update on those types of streaming services. Reggie did confirm they would come in time I believe.

And if they HAD revealed the Switch last year, it would've blown away the industry then as well. They just had to wait a few months. If Nintendo kept all of their Directs throughout the year and waited for E3, they'd have a stellar fucking show every June. They just happen to peace meal it out. I prefer it that way anyway.

Come to think of it, I hope some limited switch hardware comes out too so I have am excuse to get a Switch now with the justification of more games later and Splatoon 2 soon. (+unexpected work bonus)

I'm not expecting many third party announcements... those would have been leaked already :p.

I'll keep my expectations in check and expect Mario/Xenoblade/Fire Emblem. My dream scenario is

- Trailer for BOTW story expansion
- New Metroid by Retro
- New IP from Platinum
- New Resident Evil/ RE7 port from Capcom
- Stardew Valley end of June release
- Yooka Laylee August release
- Netflix & browser available after conference (please Nintendo, PLEASE)
- VC classics starting with Super Nes games available after conference
- Some surprise arcade soccer game (Like Sensible Soccer - perfect for this kind of screen)
- Official Beyond Good and Evil announcement for 2018

Thanks for the video. I think its nice, because "news" could mean stuff about virtual console, updates for the system menu to make it more "nintendo"

And also, the second DLC for BOTW hasnt been detailed, right?

to the nintendo experts: how likely is it that nintendo is gonna reveal/present something in line of japan games? I thought it was pretty cool that they had that many japanese games at the console "reveal", something which usually dont happen at all (like in 0 japanese games). Is it unreasonable to expect something because tgs ?

I'm somewhat betting on this as well. Summer seems like the perfect time to start the service off and really bolster their game output. If it isn't announced tomorrow, my bet would be on early next year alongside the online service. Fall just doesn't seem like the optimal time to get people buying those old games again.

I'm really hoping we get some new accessories with VC too. Give me a wireless GameCube controller and support for the 4-player adapter! I don't want GC Joy-Con though. There's nothing appealing about needing to attach a special Joy-Con for one type of game.

Come to think of it. I really feel sad that they've made those remasters for Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword which came out rather late on the Wii U , and how they aren't available on the Switch. I can't imagine it would be that difficult porting it over to the Switch hardware. I'm just sad that I sold my Wii U and then they announced those remasters. I think more people would like to try them out now.

Yeah I have a strong feeling the Rabbids game will be like a Mario Run type deal. Yves Guillemot will be on the Ubi stage and Miyamoto will walk out and they'll discuss the game.

I can't imagine that 4chan rumor being true. Why would all of the signage be up and visible ~5 days or more before the event? That seems incredibly far in advance for E3.

I'm kind of hoping that will be the case! I'm interested in that game but I'm not sure I want Nintendo to handle the reveal. Let Ubisoft get it out of the way so Nintendo can focus on their games.

Agreed. We'll know later today if Rabbids will be a big part of the Spotlight either way.

I could easily see it being a "maybe you already heard about the rabbids mario game. Stay tuned after the spotlight to see more about this game in the treehouse" sort of deal.

I almost sounds like Nintendo's presentation this year won't be that different from the other conferences we've seen so far. If we're talking 25 minute spotlight + 1 hour Treehouse with announcements, that isn't far off from the 90~ minute pressers we've seen elsewhere. Just this time we would have a bunch of announcements crammed into the first third with the gameplay demos all in the back two thirds. And a sprinkling of announcements in the Treehouse as well.

But then I'm not taking E3 as seriously as others in this thread so no meltdowns or dick measuring from me.
