This just confirms what everybody already knows, other than Batman DC is lame but who knew Spiderman was so huge. Wonder where the X-Men is on this list but they'll always be number one in my heart!

He's the face of Marvel Comics. He's Stan Lee's gift to mankind. He's the template for superheroes with normal lives. He's been the most popular comicbook character for like 50-something years. I'm doing the Nick Young face with the question marks haha

Days Gone looks like a fun open world sandbox game with zombies. The dynamic part makes it pretty awesome. And it looks great as well. Buying it day(s) (g)one

That's like saying Botw looks like any other adventure game you'd find on steam for cheap.

Comparing the best rated game of this decade with a game that will guaranteed have a metascore below 83. Lol.

That Wolfenstein 2 trailer. If you haven't seen it go now.

Seconded. So hype.

I think the trailer likely hinges on having played The New Order, as much of my excitement comes from seeing the consistency of character writing between the two titles (it's very strong for an action game, but not on the level of some of the more emotionally-driven titles on the market), the transition to idTech6 from idTech5 (that Doom-esque lighting and materials!), and seeing the game's sense of humor pushed in further directions. I know it will likely feel significantly different than Doom, but Doom cemented my preference for the type of pulp-storytelling-meets-old-school-hyperviolence vibe that the Bethesda-published shooters seem to similarly carry nowadays. The New Order felt like something unique, now it's starting to feel kind of like a signature type of vibe that I really dig.

Trailer views update as of 16th June, with amendments as per noted mistakes:

God damn Spidey gonna be massive for Insomniac.
If the game is high quality (which it looks to me imo) this could very well do 5m+ ltd.

Not surprised at Days Gone being high up the list too.

Outside of Gaf which largely seems apathetic to the game, it's seemingly had a positive reaction to the masses. That E3 demo was great too, I'm hyped for it.

I wonder how much upload dates could be taken into account - having a head start on views made a difference for need for speed.

Not surprising to see Disney properties at the top though, same for Assassins Creed. God of War I didn't except.

Did people play the spiderman game from three years ago? The web slinging made it worth playing I think. These people should play that while waiting.

I wonder what it is about the franchise that resonates with people; Right place at the right time on the PS2? Super recognisable character and a big marketing push? People appreciate solid mechanics and aesthetics?
For me it's not God of War in general, it's this God of War. I like third person action adventure games and this franchise reinventing itself away from the character action genre in the way that is being presented made it go from no interest to max interest.

I like the epicness of his adventures. He takes on things larger than life and chew bubblegum angrily while doing so. Favorite one was GoW2. It was all so crazy, so insane, not to say I didn't like the others, but in 2 it started off in the best way possible. It left quite the impression.

God of War was my first M-rated game and the first game I bought with my own money. Had to do it in secret because my parents wouldn't let me get M-rated games then. So that alone gives the series quite a bit of nostalgia for me

But besides that, the series does spectacle and scale like nothing else, has solid satisfying action set in intriguingly reimagined mythological settings; combines that action with puzzles, platforming, and a sense of adventure; has a memorable and distinct protagonist

I really don't understand what people see in Days Gone. Is it just popular because Sony's trying to hype it up or are people genuinely interested in it? It looks like the most run-of-the-mill game shown at Sony's conference. Pretty much the whole gameplay demo was just generic open world driving, QTE punching (all scripted, you aren't choosing which punches you're doing), and baby's first stealth game. It didn't even look good last year.

Days Gone so generic and cinematic boring should be canned and not make a sequel

This year is a tough year for that, honestly. There are several games where 20% of the views are shared by like 5 channels.
its weird how little views the Playstation channel has. Last E3 all exclusives shown had 2-3 million views on that channel alone. Now only GoW and SotC even broke 1 million

Because they failed to have it up right after the conference or the minute it was shown, and people tend to click on videos with higher views.

I thought BGE2 would have higher views, since it's basically the best trailer I've seen in a long time.

It's pretty astounding how big Spider-Man actually is and I wonder how big the game will be once it releases.

Its a cool trailer.

I feel like it has absolutely nothing I want from BGE2.

I want a sequel. I want to see those characters and move the story forward. Instead we get some character create a class, your make your own story, blah blah.

So I saw the trailer at Ubisoft, and honestly, thats enough for me.

The only way Ubisoft would have funded this, GaaS.

Surprised at the Spiderman's count.

People are starved for a good superhero game I guess.

Really? You're surprised that one of the most popular superheroes in the world garners a lot of interest?

Also, what was the last good Spiderman game we got? Ultimate? And that was back in 2005. So yes, people are quite starved for a good new Spidey game.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
Sony just needs to market the game during twd and boom! Millions of sales...

I was thinking the same thing. Play the shit out of commercials during the Walking Dead premiere's and word of mouth will do the rest.

what's weird is that after the double-whammy of fuse & sunset overdrive both under-performing, things were looking kinda bleak for insomniac just a few years back. this, on the heels of r&c, has gotta be making them feel pretty good right about now :) ...

Ratchet seemed to start things. Which is interesting as that was a series that seemed like it'd kinda been pushed to the side. Then it comes back and is a huge success. I know it had the biggest opening month ever for the series in the US.

Yeah, I wanted a proper sequel to the events in BG&E, but what we were given was a follow-up in name only. It's a solid pass from me.

Pass I want to punch that monkey in the face. There's no way I could endure an entire game with him around.

As some one who never owned a PS2 back in the day - and haven't had an opportunity to get to know the GOW games and what they're doing with the new one - I appreciate the responses!

My cousin who hasn't played a fucking game since like the PS2 called me up excited out of the fucking blue telling me he just watched the Spiderman trailer and it reminded him of the PS2 spiderman games.

Shit's weird, that game's gonna be a monster.

Absolutely. A quality licensed game is a hype monster that feeds itself. First parties need to do more of these if they don't want their original IP games stepping on the toes of third party games like Destiny and Grand Theft Auto.
