Looks like an artist's showcase video has Xbox button prompts in it. Could be a dev build of course, as the Crash 3 part is a bit out of order there.

EDIT: Got taken down, but there were still screencaps on the artist's site (also down now):

Finally beat this sucker today. Did not get all the gems, because I want to start Splatoon 2, but was overall a great remaster of these games.

Started Crash 2 today. Got to the fourth warp room and I have to say the difficulty decrease from Crash 1 has disappointed me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still enjoying the game but I would have preferred it to be more challenging like Crash 1 was.

However the changes to gems is an improvement. There is certainly less frustration collecting them than in Crash 1.

If you're disappointed with Crash 2's decreased difficulty wait until you play Warped lol

Finished 2 today and thankfully the difficulty did pick up a little bit.

Collision issues were very apparent when facing the electrical enemies that have the tentacles that alternate between being on their sides and above.

The final boss on Crash 2 was such a joke, cannot believe how piss easy it was.

I'm about halfway through Crash 3 after getting the plats for 1 and 2. On one hand, the greater number of gimmicky levels detracts from the platforming, but at the same time they do a decent job breaking things up. Do I like them better? Not sure yet, although I do like the Coco jetski and auto-runner levels. Jetski levels in particular make me wish a new Wave Race was a thing. Don't like the Crash motorcycle or underwater ones though. So far this is way easier than 1 and 2... those two games were challenging and frustrating in different ways. This just seems easier across the board so far, which after shaving a few years off my life with those plats, I'm perfectly OK with that.

That's all 3 platted, Just stormy Ascent to try.

3 was easily the best and most fun of the three and was the only one in the series I'd never played at all. So that was quite nice.

It was also the easiest.

3,1,2 best to worst.

It's a shame at the utter lack of post release support on this title. OK, sure, get used to the new physics but what about the actual damn bugs in the game? The broken hit boxes of some things? Come on, it's like they just put it out and moved on.

Alright, now that I'm back, and have seen the results of the game's release, I feel that it is my duty to say something in response.

I would like to apologize and admit I was wrong when I said that I didn't think the Sony/PS4 crowd would be a huge market for Crash, as I said in a few of the prior threads.

I was wrong and am surprised at just how huge of a success it is, and again, I want to apologize. I just wanted to admit I was wrong.

OK, so Crash 3 is excellent. I enjoyed Crash 2 quite a bit as well, but the third game feels like a big jump up so far (after the first set of levels and boss). There's way more gameplay variety (swimming, jet ski, etc.), the level environments are much more impressive than the second game, and so far it's easier which I like. The writing is also sharper, and I like the story/villain setup better.

Some big Crash fans such as Tim Gettys from Kinda Funny were praising Crash 2 and a bit down on Crash 3. So far, the final game is the star IMO.

Do we have numbers of how much it has sold so far?
Haven't kept up with sales for a while

Finally completed the first Crash and begun the second, the difference in movement and speed is night and day, it feels like going from 30 to 60fps.

Well Nintendo financials stated that Arms has sold 1.18 million so far.

Crash, in the same release month as ARMS, managed to chart higher in NPD. And was stated to be the best selling game of June worldwide by Activision. Despite only being on the market for 2 days in June. Physical copies were hard to come by in a lot of areas in Europe, folks being able to sell back their copies for more than retail due to demand.

I'd estimate around 2 million. But at the very least, 1.18 million.

Hey, kudos for being able to acknowledge it. Most would just move along.

Not total numbers but we have some data points.

Number one worldwide in June (physical sales)
>400K in June (US/2 days)
>200K in UK (1 month)

As Farisr said, I would think it is at ~2M sold at this point. It is selling incredibly well.

Finished Stormy ascent in 3 lives. Wasn't that bad. But fuck the time trial.

Had glitches and bugs galore.

Platforms not behaving as they should and out of time with others and all sorts. Bird not flying in tandem with the horizontal moving platform on the last section etc.

When you get right to the end with plenty of time even for platinum and some stupid timing issue fucks your rhythm. You just gotta say fuck this noise. go back another time and its fine. the steps at the top of the first section have fucked up a few times too.

I thought was me to start with. it really wasn't. Will try again if they patch it. Had no problems with this collection up until this

Will just leave it at 91% or whatever its on. OCD overdrive.

Well they've clearly said in response to our other legitimate issues that (essentially) the problem is us and get used to it, they're not fixing shit. So i imagine your concerns won't be addressed either.

I've accepted the fact that they've given us the middle finger on the jumpboxes and altered collision boxes, but i still hold out hope for a load time patch. Exiting and re-entering a level should not take 20+ seconds in the year 2017.

Well everyone knows the cure to mediocrity is moan on GAF and all will be right. Did it! Only gold but that's a triple platinum encrusted diamond to me.

All 3 100% and I'm out of here.

First 4 Figures posted on their FB group a first look at the finalized Crash resin statue they'll be putting up preorders by the end of the year:

It'll ship by Q2 2018 iirc.

Pretty exciting to see how much Acti is willing to push Crash and with N. Sane being an overnight success (and still is charting), perhaps they'll push it even further. Perhaps a Netflix cartoon? I'll be so down on that.

So I've always heard good things about the Crash Bandicoot series and my bf was really excited that they came out with a remaster. He went out and bought it. I watched him play some levels and decided to start playing myself. I love platformers, so figured this would be fun too. However, I find the game to be incredibly boring. The controls are frustrating and clunky ( I'm aware of the pill box issue). The music is bland. I just don't like it. Hopefully it gets better.

Which game did you start with? Crash 1 is very focused as a a platformer, you might prefer the variety of 3 although some people hate the gimmick levels.
2 is also very highly regarded (for reasons unknown to me).

So, is it pretty much agreed upon that VV is not going to fix the hitbox/consistency changes in Crash 1? I've never been so infuriated with a game that I have already beaten previously when I was 21 years younger.

I mean, there's always a chance they might fix what the Crash fanbase thinks isp broken in the game but if you go by their blogpost from some time ago, it seems like they don't see any of our claims as issues (even tho they truly are)

I find it rather ironic how VV kept claiming before release how closely they were listening to the fanbase and kept adding/removing stuff here and there for every game and yet, after the release it seems like they decided to ignore what we have to say about their game lol

To be fair, the first one is the most difficult of the three by a significant margin. 2 and 3 are a cake walk in comparison.

Let me preface this question by saying that I didn't play any of the Crash games before the N. Sane trilogy released, and have now finished all 3 games with the minimum requirements(just getting the crystals). That being said, am I completely crazy for thinking the series actually decreased in quality as it went on (1>2>3)!? This very well could be due to fatigue, however I missed the memorable difficuty and stages in the sequals. Maybe all the hate from the first comes from doing the time trials, but as someone who just can't be bothered with doing that stuff, I think I'll always look back at the original most fondly.

So I 100%ed the first game without a sweat.

I started the second expecting to be a breeze only to hit a roadblock at Sewer or Later.

So I have to pass the yellow gem up to a certain point and return?
And what the game expects me to do with the flamethrower enemy above the electrified water? I get hit every time.
4 game overs so far...

I absolutely adore Crash 2 and have completed it several times, but the remake Crash 1 did really good to convince me it's the best one.

It's not 'fair' because the original Crash 1 handled like crap compared to the original 2, but the remake plays wonderfully and the tight, challenging level design is terribly enjoyable now that the subpar jumping and outdated stuff like the password saving don't get in the way.

I understand it was very hard for the kind of game it was, but I can only be disappointed that Crash 2 was so easy in comparison.

That said, I know every single level and mechanic of Crash 2 by memory so that made it even easier, whereas I only completed the original Crash 1 once so it was kind of a fresh experience.

It's the one that benefited the most from the remake, that's for sure. Undoubtedly better than 3.

Originals:

2>1>3

Remake:

2=1>3

I need a Crash 2 roguelike or level creator.

Most of the times you enter a gem path you can just kill yourself after you get the gem in there and you'll respawn in the previous checkpoint so you can also get all the boxes and obtain the three gems at once.

Ah double post. Was meant to be an edit.

Anyways, the load times are atrocious across the board. They actively hamper my enjoyement of the games.

How and why this inexcusable bs is still there 1 month later is beyond me.

Finished Crash 3 and am now working on the rest of the gems and relics. Spent quite a bit of time working through Dino Might! only to make it to the end and run right past the crate gem and fall off the ledge to the exit. LOL Wanted to cry.

Edit: Did it. Also did Deep Trouble, which was ass (hate underwater levels). High Time took me the longest, but it paid off with my first platinum relic. A handful of gems and 9 more relics to go, and that'll be that for this trilogy.

Road to nowhere.

I died trying to access the bonus area because a post hid the fact there was a pit between the bridge and bonus portal.

This precision jumping is not fun.

I did the same thing with the bonus area. It's a very frustrating level. Wait til you get to High Road, that is even worse, there's a section towards the end where you have to bounce from turtle to turtle. It's infuriating. Especially when going for the relics.
