Online seems really dodgy right now. Ending up on 2player salmon teams, all kinds of terrible

The Rainmaker changing from Inkzooka in Splat 1 to a Blaster type thing is gonna take some time to get used to. Not sure if it was for the better.

I hope they port Splat 1 to Switch 😔

I'm bummed because I miss the giant tornado, but I'm fine with it because it means that the Rainmaker can't win the game by themselves as easy.

pretty sure you can see Inkopolis Plaza from the Square in 2 and there's a subway station that you can't access

it'd be really cool if they opened up the subway station at some point and let you travel to Inkopolis Plaza and play on the Splatoon 1 maps with all the old weapons and specials and stuff

Salmon Run seems to rarely coincide with my play schedule.

I've just glad they've switched to 24 hour blocks for it now. The weird schedule of only opening for 12 hours at bizarre times every couple of days that they had for the first week was pretty bad.

Yeah it does make the teammates step their game up atleast, but I can't even figure out how the new one works. I thought it was exactly like a Blaster shot but it seems different. Does it leave a trail of ink? How do you splat people with it?

Just beat a Salmon Run with three people. Feels great man.

Also I wonder if the Rainmaker was an actual weapon you could use, if it would be any good or not.

This would give the game a better tickrate lol

This is why I mostly go solo online this game.

The Switch was a mistake!!!

OH SHIT

Paid expansion pack? 🤔

Splat 1 on the new engine would be amazing

I hate when my teammates try to get into fights when we met the quota and there are bosses all over the place. We all end up dying. It pisses me off. I just run when I know we've met the quota.

Just had this in a high tide goldie run where after the quota was met they still opened all fountains and died lol.

As someone that always feels the need to be the lonewolf in rainmaker from bad teammates, I really hate the new one. With the tornado, it was at least viable to be able to win on your own when your team didn't know what they were doing.

i feel like a lot of specials in splat 1 were 'escape valves'

like if i saw a sniper in splat 1 and i was using a splattershot, i would often just bust out the inkzooker and blast them. they had no chance to react before a non-threat suddenly became a huge threat

now in splat 2 the inkjet is super vulnerable and the blaster is harder to land correctly. it still lets you deal with the issue but you're no longer just beasting out of the bat.

personally i think it's fairer

>making it to wave 3 with a 3-person team
>wave 3 going high tide and no one pulled the charger

I think we all agreed that was essentially a victory.

Giving up on salmon run today, hate this weapon selection. About 10 games and only 1 win to the end.

Although matchmaking has been abysmal allround for me today, so maybe it's just my luck.

At least your pay grade doesn't go down as long as you make it to wave 3, feels reasonable.

Sort of unrelated, but I also noticed just now that you automatically go down (or up) to 40 in your current rank every time Salmon Run comes on, had not really thought about that before (just kinda figured I ended up at 40 the previous time, lol).

Another Salmon Run, another, "Wow these weapons are amazing," set, and another batch of Randoms that don't know how to use any of them except for the simplest of the bunch (in this case .96 Gal).

Have these dudes literally never touched a Charger or (Mini) Splatling? And why is Sploosh so difficult for people, that one really has me confused!

Also the game needs to tell you that you can move your life raft when you're dead. There's no reason a Profreshional shouldn't be doing so.

The "blast" only explodes on impact with something. So it works similar to the blaster in that it excels around corners and in tight spaces, but your burst has to be calculated for near where the enemies are, not exactly where they are.

It still works pretty well for the person holding the rainmaker in terms of mobility. A lot like the new special weapons, though, it is much more situational if you want to use the rainmaker to splat people.

Wave 2 we got TWENTY NINE eggs in a Goldie Hunt round.

Wave 3...

Fun fact, that dude had Inkjet (I saw the two other Specials go off, so it had to be him with Jet).

Second fun fact, I'm fairly certain he had at least one charge left. Probably both.

Third fun fact, he actually swam past all three of us before heading to docks where he died to the above.

How do you go from that amazing second wave to that? :/

That and the fact that you can still collect eggs (can't deposit them though)

Oh yeah, that's also super helpful since you can grab stuff from, say, Flyfish that teammates killed from afar. Gives at least one "free" egg from an otherwise too-dangerous-to-approach area.

Why is it so hard for some people to use the Sploosh o matic gun? Lol

They probably aren't used to it's short range

It's shorter than Jr., but I don't think most Randoms would even know that. If the game started everyone off with Splattershots I could understand more, but the forced starter weapon is a short-range, you figure people would know how to use them lol.

I finally FINALLY got Ink Res Drink Tickets! Two of them from my second Superbonus. Also got some extra Money tickets, but not doublers. Meh.

The matchmaking in this is something else. Either I go on winning steaks or losing streaks. Rarely do I get games that are actually a fun back and forth.
