Loving the game so far. The third boss boss was perfect.
Just ran into a bug at
act 2's boss. I got knocked through the side of the screen which caused it to scroll and bring the ending capsule onto the screen. I was able to end the level without finishing the boss.

It just feels so.smooth and joyful, and the nostalgia is overwhelming. Love the way that act 1 is classic zone stuff and act 2 remixes both the music and the gameplay, typically introducing one new idea.
Also fun setting time attack scores on switch and coming top 3 despite meandering around because only like 7 people have even set scores yet with knuckles lol.
Also, tails has never felt this good to play as and knuckles has never felt so subtly unique.
All the old sonic gameplay issues are still here - I'm still not sure that the core game design idea of 2d sonic is a good one - but I'm having a lot of fun.

So far Chemical Plant act 1 is the only stage I didn't enjoy, love what they did with act 2, really should have inserted some of that in act 1, it was about as awful as the original Chemical Plant!

Drop dash is a more of a game changer than I realized. Like "How did I ever play classic Sonic games without this mechanic" kind of stuff.
Hit a string of ridiculous insta-deaths in Chemical Plant Act 1 with the boosters shooting me right into the moving blocks and crushing me that I'm pretty sure never happened back in the day. Either I suck now, or that part is a little sketchy.

Gawddddddd, I have to find out who is personally responsible for Mirage Saloon Act 2's boss. I need to thank them. Big spoiler, big because you gotta see it for yourself:

As soon as I saw a flame shield in act 1 I knew there was about to be some fuckery. That was great.
Yup, was about to post this same question. I hope it gets fixed soon, fantastic game otherwise.

Chemical zone act 2 boss, holy shit

I just beat the game! It's pretty great overall IMO . I would say some of original zones were not as good as the returning ones. least favorite is Zone 5 Act 1.

I'm going to do so when I get home, haven't given a shit about sonic since he was awesome which must be more than 20 years ago, gonna buy this because it's clearly the right direction for the franchise and sounds really good

Thanks. Hope it gets patched, it's really a pain. Especially since the OS is generally lightening fast. Any comment from SEGA ?

Done! Purchased digitally on Xbox. Super looking forward to this now as tonight was just terrible on Overwatch with people throwing in almost every game I played... Need a Sonic break!

I forgot the switch doesnt let you sync with bluetooth headphones...really? In 2017? Guess Ill just play without music on the train back home.
Only stages 5 or 6 gave me any trouble to be honest. Made me go from loving these stages to almost hating them haha.

Just beat the game... Here are some things I liked and disliked.
My favorite stage is Press Garden.
Game's transitions started to get awkward midway through... as if they gave up detail on "cutscenes".
I like the & knuckles mode.
I also like how you can pick sonic's abilities.
I hate that to do those last two, you gotta select "no save". Kinda blows.
I havent collected all the emeralds so idk if theres a different ending, but the one i seen for sonic and tails kinda blows.
With a whole selections of possible stages, picking Lava Reef was the bigest wtf to me.
I was hoping the "& knuckles" mode worked with sonic and tails. Meaning all 3 would be running around.
I enjoyed my time with the game. I wish there was more.

Probably related to a similar thing that the initial Switch version of Minecraft had (where the capture button would randomly produce screen shots even though the user didn't press it). It was quickly patched, IIRC.

While I'm intrigued by Sonic Mania, I really dislike the level design of old Sonic games, it's just running till something pops in front of you and you react to it, I find them repetitive and frustrating.
Should I get it? I like Sonic Adventure 2, Generations, Colors and CD. The Sonic Mania graphics, art and music are getting to me, but I'm worried about the gameplay.

Any hint for the third chaos emerald? I can't fucking get it, by the time i reach mach 3, the UFO is so far that i can't see it anymore, and i always ran out of time!
