Translation - we're doing a small show closer to "Xbox Daily". It will have some low key announcements e.g Recore Definitive and show off our Avatars. Don't be excited.

It probably will be like you're describing. Small studio set, an interviewer, a few announcements, and at the end.... Pre-Orders begin..... now. Something like that. Not exciting, but it has what people need to know.

I guess they really want people to play some PUBG

gamescom is just around the corner and we can’t wait to kick the week off with Xbox @ gamescom Live this Sunday.

Don’t forget to tune in Sunday at 9:00pm CEST / 8:00pm BST / 12:00pm PDT so that you can be the first to hear the latest news on highly anticipated games coming to the Xbox family and Windows 10. We’ll have world premiere trailers and, of course, more about the most powerful console ever made, Xbox One X.

What’s more, you can sign in to your Microsoft account at Mixer.com and you’ll be in with a chance of winning lots of great prizes and be able to ask questions to the teams behind your favorite games. We’re excited to show you what we’ve been up to since E3, so be sure to tune in!

Here’s more info on Xbox @ gamescom Live and our other gamescom activities this weekend and into next week.

Xbox @ gamescom Live – Sunday, August 20 at 9:00pm CEST / 12:00pm PDT

This year’s show will be hosted by Graeme Boyd (aka @AceyBongos), Xbox Germany’s Maxi Graeff (@GMaxee), and Julia Hardy (@itsJuliaHardy). They’ll have news to share, games to show off, will sit down to talk with developers from fan favorite studios and play some of the year’s hottest games yet to be released. The stream will be hosted on Mixer.com and via the Mixer app. We’ll have three URLs for the show, the countdown for which begins one hour before the livestream begins.

Age of Empires @ gamescom Live – Monday, August 21 at 9:00pm CEST / 12:00pm PDT

On Monday, we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Age of Empires franchise with a special livestream event in Cologne, alongside some of our biggest fans. The livestream will celebrate the rich history of the beloved PC game series, as well as give fans a first-look at Age of Empires: Definitive Edition, the beautifully remastered edition of the classic strategy game. We’ll be talking all things Age of Empires with some of the legendary developers who worked on the games as well as sharing some exciting news that you won’t want to miss – watch on the Age of Empires channel on www.mixer.com/AgeofEmpires or through the Mixer app.

Xbox Booth @ gamescom

Gamers in Germany will be able to get hands on Xbox One X for the first time at the Xbox booth when gamescom officially opens at the Koelnmesse on Tuesday, August 22. We’re back in Hall 8 of the Koelnmesse, North entrance, this year and you won’t want to miss the opportunity to play a wide collection of the games coming to Xbox over the next 12 months. See below for the show opening times:

Tuesday, August 22 – 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. CEST (press/trade only day)
• Wednesday, August 23 – 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. CEST
• Thursday, August 24 – 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. CEST
• Friday, August 25 – 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. CEST
• Saturday, August 26 – 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. CEST
Finally, for our fans in Germany, we’ve got another surprise. Today, we launched the German versions of Xbox Wire. Joining Xbox Wire en Espanol, which launched at E3, the site will be bringing our news daily to our biggest German fans in their native languages. Check in often for global and local news and features.

Throughout the week, we’ll be tweeting, live streaming and sharing news and content via social media – twitter, snapchat, Facebook, Mixer, etc, most often using the hashtag #XboxGC. Whether in person or online, you won’t want to miss what we have in store this year!

That thing they've never done before probably won't be anything too special. Sorry to be negative but there is no reason to get excited about that. No way will it be a new game announcement or anything like that. But I would love to be wrong and have a nice surprise from them.

And that live presentation is not like a briefing right? I guess more like the daily show during E3?

It was something they’ve not done in a long time at Gamescom. I think it will be some. ‘Available to download now’ moments

Maybe demos , betas or whole games

I hope they'll show other tracks and cars in Forza7 presentation, not Dubai again. I can't wait to see how the remastered version of Maple Valley looks in the new game.

With delay of Crackdown, I don't know what they can show to wow me.

Here's a fun statistic I found on Twitter.

Microsoft Studios retail output by year:
06: 4
07: 13
08: 11
09: 7
10: 11
11: 8
12: 10
13: 7
14: 7
15: 7
16: 5
17: 3

These lists are idiotic. They could pump four, five shitty "exclusive" kinect games to boost numbers (like they did before), what good would that do?

A lot of sand to see between that clip of Forza 7 and many of the clips we've seen of Assassin's Creed Origins eh?

What they should do it. PUBG at Gamescom and then announce. "Test is live now! Download and play against Gamescom attendees!"

Excited for this, and totally ready to preorder XB1X as soon it's up. I'm also looking forward to more games getting XB1X enhancements.

They advertise with X there, so it's likely running on Xbox One X there. It was said the Xbox version would be shown at GC too. Don't remember where though.

I would really like that a lot. That's always the best kind of news.

It's a good sign if Crackdown is there. Should mean it hasn't already been "silently" canned or whatever.

What’s more, you can sign in to your Microsoft account at Mixer.com and you’ll be in with a chance of winning lots of great prizes

So no MixPot (or equivalent)? I hope the chance to win prizes is at least passive just by tuning in and not the case where you have to parrot a code word quickly in chat for a raffle. I'm not about that stream chat life.

Def not feeling entitled to anything, but I was expecting Microsoft to woo me with more freebies since E3 when there's been notable Xbox events streamed (SDCC, Gamescom). I'll stop anticipating mass freebies for using Mixer outside of E3 if Gamescom comes and goes without any.

I'm not the typical user of streaming services, but Prime Loot gets me engaging with Twitch every month. Mixer pulled me in with that E3 MixPot, but I'm losing interest.

Sounds like it will be mostly Sunday that is gonna to be interesting for us at home. Of course for visitors every day is worth it. So during that live show Sunday they will show games and have surprises. Wonder if we're maybe gonna see some new gameplay of games like Ori 2. Man that would be something.

16: 5

They need to really wow me, and even then its getting the games out the door (Scalebound, Fable). Even 7 games a year seems high for 2013-2015

I wouldn't be surprised if it was just the PC version played with an Xbox Controller. The PUBG developers must be super busy updating the PC game and we've heard or seen nothing from the Xbox version so far. And its supposed release really isn't far off. Makes sense for them to show it off regardless though. It's a huge get.

The Xbox port is being done by a seperate team if I recall.

I'm sure it's a separate team and im sure MS is helping them get it on Xbox. MS has never been shy about that.

Thanks for the info. I'm really curious how far the version already is, then. PUBG in general is far from being a finished product anyway but Microsoft has the Early Access program on Xbox to support such a game.

That would be disappointing, especially if it's planned to come out this year. Would be nice to see how it's running on X. Several developers got their game running on X very quickly, like Ubi with ACO, so why not this developer too? Or are they very small?

Spoiler alert: there will be no wowing of any sort at Gamescom. Microsoft seems to rebooting their entire first party approach. Hope you like Recore!

Full disclosure: I'm excited to see how they updated Recore for the definitive edition.

It was just announced on pre-Gamescom Mixer stream that there will indeed be a MixPot. No details on what it contains yet though.

In all seriousness I do hope MS has some tricks up their sleeves for this conference. Especially with the C3 delay folks are frothing for new games...

I've said before that I can really start taking their direction in the PC space seriously if they started reviving their PC ip's. A new Age of Empires would do just that.

That's not how they operate. There's a sudden burst of PC activity, then it stops when presumably sales don't meet expectations, and they once again skulk off out of the PC space in a huff.

It's irritating.

I expect the Halo back compat games on Sunday for sure. Maybe free to everyone watching on Mixer as well.

Three of those four double-digit years occurred before Kinect though. In my opinion the numbers matter. They're not the only, or maybe even the best indicator, but they do matter.

Uh, sorry if this is common knowledge, but this thread reminded me that I have no idea about any conference, time of said conf, and stream. MS excepted evidently.
Can anybody shed some light on this ? Will there be other conferences and will they be streamed ?

Cuphead is playable also right? Hope we see alot of it now.

Should be playable indeed. Hope that MS has a few suprises up its sleeve ( PUBG at launch would be great ).

I've pre-ordered the Xbox One X already ( was possible in the Netherlands ) but tbh...the line up of exclusives, in the near future, is really worrying me.
